[Update][HELP] Need help in porting lollipop rom - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Hello, i am trying to port cm 12 rom for moto g to our redmi 1s (cm 11 rom) ,but the thing is that the content in the port rom and the base rom is different, and i dont know what to do now ,you can see in the screen shot, any help will be appreciated
Update:
Some how i was able to extract that"system.new.dat" and it contains all the folders which are present in system folder in kitkat rom,i had done modifying the files, my rom is almost at the final stage, now i just want to know how to repack it back to system.new.dat.. This is the last step then we will have our lollpop rom

Dude Porting needs to be carried out between ROMs having Same android versions.
Your Moto G Rom CM12 is Android 5.x and CM11 is Android 4.4.4
Thanks...

hey one doubt...i heard that by doing a modem fix u can make RIL work....is it true? if so can u try it? cuz i dont know how to do these thing and most of all i have a limited internet plan :crying: if a modem fix can solve it it would be so helpful for all the redmi 1s users who are waiting for functional lollipop build......

Unfortunately, you won't have any luck with porting different android versions. Porting KK from JB was possible because they were pretty similar.

I have ported the rom,but dont know why it is getting stucked at bootlogo,do anyone has solution of this?

Hey its gud to know that someone is working on lollipop....

http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=20482&extra= dont know if its helpful or not... Its about porting miui rom bt there is a section which includes information about fixing bootloop....
If the rom doesn't boot here are two things you can try:
In the folder /system/lib replace
libandroid_runtime.so
with the one from the port rom. If that still doesn't work then also replace
libmedia_jni.so
it SHOULD boot then, if not then there are other issues at hand.this

Hey its about repacking...
a python package script was provided to pack system.img into system.new.dat.
Usage:
$ python img2sdat.zip [system.img] [output_dir]
The argument system.img is default set as system.img, can be omitted.
The argument output_dir is default set as otazip, can be omitted.

Yeah i think, this may be a kernel issue, because i have tried many possibilites in building this rom, spent 2 weeks in it,everything seems to be right, but dont know what the problem is, i tried looking out in mokee 5.0 rom by syhost to get to know where i am going wrong, but he has protected his rom with some password thats why i am not able to get know about the inside contents,if i install his rom in my device,is there a way to extract boot.img(which is the kernel) using terminal on android , let me google it
And yes thanks for what you are doing, helping people in their work keep it up bro, thats how the forums run

Hey did u try extracting it with 7zip?if not just give it a try....0

There is programm called unmkbootimg. type:
unmkbootimg boot.img
will create zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz files in current directory. scripts/extract-ikconfig will give you config from kernel.
mafamafa
If you have unpacked ROM and got yourromfolder/RFSFAT16_BOOT_00000000000 then all you need
>unmkbootimg yourromfolder/RFSFAT16_BOOT_00000000000
To get boot.img from tablet: install Term(terminal) (to tablet), run terminal, type:
>su

Hey i got this info on some site 1st make backup of mokee rom with CWM nd look into the backup folder for the boot. Img...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?
t=1929222
the simplest way is to log into adb shell and run
Quote:
dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd2 of=/sdcard/boot.img
and then exit adb and run
Quote:
adb pull /sdcard/boot.img boot.img
this assumes that your boot is on mtd2 (run: cat /proc/mtd on the device to determine right partition)
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile...es-boot-recovery-and-system-partition-images/
Open up your android terminal emulator.
-- Now go ahead and pull your boot.img from your device (or use another one if you wish). Here is an example:
Code (Text):
[email protected]:/ # dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20 of=/data/local/tmp/boot.img
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20 of=/data/local/tmp/boot.img

Hey its the link for mokee lollipop nightly for moto g.... Maybe u could use this for porting to redmi 1s,as now both have same android version...
Hope its helpful...

I don't know much about this stuff, but i guess i could help you in getting the kernel and the system folder used in mokee 50.1 by syhost. Flash the rom, back it up using twrp. Then in the twrp folder you'll see two files like boot.emmc.win and system.emmc.win (names might not be same as i mentioned, but the extension is .win and also you'll know what's what if you just see the file size). Then rename boot.emmc.win to boot.img ~ you'll get the kernel. Rename system.emmc.win to system.tar, extract it ~ you'll get the system folder (although i'm not sure about the image file). Give it a try.

[GUIDE] Cook your own Stock-based Sense ROM with Android Kitchen from RUU.

Since I haven't seen a guide on how to do this in places, I wanted to make one so people can make their own sense ROMs =D
Now on to the guide!!
First, download Android Kitchen from here and set it up for whichever operating system you're using (I'n on linux so I won't be able to help Windows and OS X users set it up)
Once you're done and have set it up, download your RUU that you want to base your ROM off if from here - http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Primo
After downloading the RUU, follow this guide on extracting ROM.zip from an RUU. If you're on Linux, use this tool to extract it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39375422#post39375422
Now that you have you're ROM.zip, you'll need to copy it to the "original_update" folder in the Android Kitchen. After copying it their, create a working folder for Android Kitchen. Android Kitchen will now unpackage the ROM.zip and create a working folder with the RUU's contents in it.
Now you can apply your selected tweaks for your ROM!
Once you've applied your selected tweaks in the kitchen, go into "Advanced Options" and select "Convert update-script or updater-script". Enter the number for the option to convert to "Edify" format, otherwise your ROM will not work!! After doing this, you can package edit the updater-script in the working folder so that it flashes to the One V (You can ask for help with that below, don't hesitate!)
Now, package your ROM and use mode 1. Zipalign and make sure to sign the zip.
If you've finished this and haven't encountered any errors, congratulations on making your own sense ROM! You can now edit and mod the ROM for yourself =D
If you encounter any errors, just ask about them! =D
maybe you can call this guide

[Easy Tool] For developers and rom cokers

Hi, here is tool for making flashable zip in few commands! No need root! In few commands your rom is ready for sharing or flashing with CMW ! You can dump any rom! NOTE: all your rom changes which is in your phone will be included in rom.zip (for example busybox, su...etc)! Tool will be usefull for dumping next Sony stock rom, but allso all rom is supported! Enjoy!
For no rooted devices:
adb push romgen /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 romgen
Code:
./romgen C6903 honami /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/byname/userdata /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cache [COLOR="Red"]/dev/null[/COLOR] /storage/removable/sdcard1/rom.zip
/dev/null must be used as a boot partition since no rooted devices have no access to these device!
For rooted devices:
adb push romgen /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
su
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 romgen
Code:
./romgen C6903 honami /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/byname/userdata /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/cache [COLOR="Red"]/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot[/COLOR] /storage/removable/sdcard1/rom.zip

Yesterday I noticed bug There is bug when folder is empty or when symlink is inside folder but there no other files! So when tool generate zip these folder is missing in zip but updater-script have line "set perm to folder" which not exist, so installation aborting because a missing folder Will try to solve them soon! Do not flash generated zip since you will get boot loop (you can only if you add missing folders to zip)! I will make new version soon, hope clean!
New version is out! Hope all bugs solved! Bug is solved by creating empty file .placeholder to all existing folders so zip for sure now have all mised folders, than placeholders is auto removed at finish of the installation
I am hope eerything is right now, but I will test and let you know if generated zip is installable with sucess!
New working version finaly, sorry! Now I tested tool and found another 2 bugs, first one was "zip fail to store file which contain special characters like *()...etc", and seccond one was wrong format of the permssions in updater-scrip. Now all things is solved, I have tested tool, tried to install generated zip, installed zip, and bum. Everything is ok now, enjoy!

It should be out (most likely) in a first few days on april (let just hope it won't be first April and we.won't be April's fools )

@munjeni, nice tool, but I need help. I get this error in CWM log every time I try to install my zip; "l:Can't partition non mmcblk device: /devices/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
What do I need to do to the updater script? I tried replacing the mount system bit with;
run_program("/sbin/busybox", "mount", "/system");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
but I had no luck.
Probably you pased bad command to the romgen since you say /devices/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host !!! Double check first post before you going to generate zip! Or probably you using an bad cwm which have bad fstab! If no of these 2 simptoms is true than for sure you have modified updater-script by your own way which probably is not ok! Hope this help.

Well, after 8 months of frustration working with the S6810, I got a chance on a mint Galaxy S2 at a bargain price and went for it. Them I sold the shyte S6810 and used to money for groceries for my daughters at their house as things were a bit tight for them this month and the change I used for gas for the car... So after 8 months of frustration the Fame finally managed to do something useful.
As for the Galaxy S2.... It had already been upgraded to Jelly Bean and within half an hour I was rooted and running all my apps again, but without lag, freeze and frustration.
Seriously folks, stop flogging a dead horse and get rid of the Fame and get something better with real support and roms and kernels and lots of goodies! You can only get happier...

[Guide]Deodex LG Stock KitKat Rom

As the title say, follow this guide to deodex your stock or stock based(Sling,VDT etc) roms.
In case you dont know what is odex and deodex, check out this awesome thread,,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224570
Before doing any thing Always Make Nandroid Backup
Things Needed
Java(https://www.java.com/en/download/)
Rooted Device
Usb debugging enabled(for pulling files)
Downloads
http://d-h.st/pCI#.U4cLVPmSwgM (based on Kamome tool)
Guide
extract the downloaded tool
run main.bat(be sure to run as admin)
select option 1 create working folder (if this give you subdirectory already then created continue anyway)
Now Select option 2( phone should be connected to pc with usb debugging enabled and phone should also be on charge only mode)
Select option 3 (this should take some time to deodex files)
this step is optional Use option 4 to add deodexed files to zip and flash them via recovery or you can push via adb(search google)
To flash from recovery
copy zip file( you created before ) in the phone
go to recovery
flash them and reboot
enjoy!

F.A.Q
Q.there are many tools to deodex why use this?
A. With android 4.4 google changed something, now apps are also stored in system/priv-app, other tools available to deodex are only created to deodex file stored in system/app.
Q.Tool gives me some kind of java error at the start?
A.Install Java for your respective system e.g 32bit or 64bit. Also dont continue further if you get this message other wise you will get bootloop
Q.My phone is not detected by this tool?
A. install adb drivers..
Issues
1= On sling rom, when deodexed stock keyboard FC and weather widget also wont work(dont know why)

Hy @umair928 thanks for useful instructions but i am unable to deodexed sling v 2.1 using this method. It doesnt pull the required folders ,i even manually placed app, framework and priv-app folders in system but it doesnt deodexed nor create a flashable zip .This tool is for xperia z and i think it has to be edited a bit to work on our phone.
PS:If youve deodexed slim rom kindly mirror that for me i need deodexed rom thanks

May be you are doing something wrong, have you installed proper adb drivers and java. This method works perfect with stock or any custom firmware(I deodexed, 30b, 30c and sling rom) . I have also deodexed htc m8 stock rom with this...
Bro, connection is super sh... ty cant share deodexed rom...
Yes I've installed Java and Adb drivers , Adb is recognising my device . Apparently doing everything as per guide but don't know why it's not doing

That's because the framework is different. Changing lg framework may help you to get sms app working, but it may make other apps to FC

Dear Ahmed vai,
Thanks for the response. My phone is working well with Sling Rom as there are options of Selecting 2g/3G. Whn i select 2g only, the phone;s network signal is good and if i select 3g then the network bar up and downs severly...and no one reach me / i cant call to others. So, I am always select 2g. No way to find out the solution and In sling My front camera is not working.
Hope you are in Good Health. Take care Brother.
Regards,

Well, sling is not a custom ROM. It's actually a cooked firmware. If you're searching for such a cooked firmware based on stock kk for E975, nothing so far.
FM radio doesn't work on F 180 @clickanu

[SCRIPT FOR STOCK] AutoScripts

AUTOSCRIPTS
Hi Everybody!
That's my first work for the Moto X Play so I hope You'll appreciate it.
It's simply an automatic flash script, just in case You won't have to remember all these shi*ty codes.
It's personally created and tested by me, so I'm sure it works, but I don't assume any responsibility for damaged devices.
!!REMEMBER! I DON'T PROVIDE ANY STOCK ROM!!
My script (as you'll see) works both with Ubuntu (and derivates), Fedora (yes, both with dnf and yum installer) and Windows.
If you have any question/suggest feel free to post it here and if I helped you feel free (too) to hit thank and maybe buy me a coca (I don't really like alchoholic drinks).
HOW TO1) Download it from MY GITHUB PAGE.
2) Put on your Home Folder (or anywhere You want).
3) Unzip it (You'll see a file called flash.sh, for linux users, and some files for windows users).
4) Open a terminal and cd the folder where you have saved flash.sh.
5) Copy the code below (for Linux) or simply double-click on flash.bat (for Windows. It doesn't request administrator privilegies).
Code:
$ chmod +x flash.sh
$ ./flash.sh
6) Follow the instructions on screen.
7) Enjoy.
BUGSAll the Scripts is tested personally by me before any upload so I'm sure they'll work. Anyway if you encounter any problems please post it in bug's tab HERE!
VERSIONSAutoScript Linux
Fixed Wipe and NoWipe options.
Added support for ArchLinux (both with pacman and yaourt)
BugFix
NEW:
1) Added sperimental support for Gentoo linux and other OS's with emerge (I haven't Gentoo so I don't assure it works as expected!)
2) One script for rule 'em all!
AutoScript Windows
Added a script for logcat.
Cleaned the codes on flash.bat.
Added ability to exit the script on any question simply press K.
Fix some bugs and clean code.
Added ability to relock the device
BugFix
F.A.Q.1) Why it doesn't work with device XYZ?
It's because my AutoScripts is developed only for Moto X Play.
2) The Scripts have only formatted my device. You piece of sh*t!!1!11!
Have you downloaded the ROM and put the files on the Flash's folder? You can find it HERE.
3) When do you upload an update?
I'll do it as soon as possible. Don't hassle me with that unuseful quest please.
4) Thank man, your work is fantastic!
Please hit thank button, don't write a post for that.
5) I've read your work and the codes is fuc*ing ugly and long.
I know. If you have a suggestion please tell me and I'll see if i can do anything.

Thanks man! I'll add it to my main script (with proper credits )
I'm uploading the V2 with the script for Windows, thanks to @axxx007xxxz, (I haven't tested if it work 'cause I haven't Windows).
In the script for linux I've also added the possibility to delete (or not) userdata
P.S.
For XT1563 and rooted version expect tomorrow 'cause I'm too busy, sorry
i need unlock the bootloader?
Sorry for my loong absence but I was really busy on the real world. I'm working on a few bugs of my AutoScript (I was missing some codes). I hope @axxx007xxxz will update his Script for Windows soon.
Tried this yesterday, works like a charm, I used the windows script.
@ismatab this script is for people who have unlocked their phone and want to return to stock build. If you have your bootloader locked you can't flash it
Uploading new build. Now you don't need to put your device in bootloader mode before plug it to the PC 'cause the script do it automatically

I'll upload Windows script soon, sorry for the delay.
So right now i have CM13 installed, but would like to go back to stock. I am rooted and have an european version (dual Sim) I am on windows.
If i use the windows script, i just have to follow the instruction ? do i need to download a stock rom first ? is (/XT1562_LUX_RETEU_6.0.1_MPD24.107-52_cid7) the good one ?
It doesnt matter if i loose my data. i would prefer to actually as i want a fresh install.
Will i keep my phone rooted ?
Thanks for the tool and your answers !
Cheers

If you open Download's tab you'll se a file called Stock vX.zip. It contains the stock rom plus the file script.bat. You have simply to double click on it.
For the ROM 6 .0.1 it most be added the system.img_sparsechunk.9 line to the script, also the Stock vX.zip dont say if is compatible with XT1563, the Windows.zip in other comments said this, also, in Windows Zip the ADB is missing.
Anyway, thaks for the script
