Review of iClever® 33W / 6.6A 3 USB Aluminum Alloy Car Charger with SmartID™ Tech. - General Accessories

This is a beautiful and powerful car charger that has a great build quality and performance for a really low price!
In the box, you get the charger itself, an instruction manual, and a “HISCARD” warranty card.
First Impressions: Whoa, this feels amazing! The build quality has really surprised me. This feels really durable, nice, and looks stylish too! Another thing that baffles me is its power. A 2.4 port and two 2.1A ports! That really is incredible, especially since many car chargers only have one or two ports that are only 1A. So far, this has me impressed, but let’s see how it does when it is put to the test.
After using it for a while, I can say that this definitely exceeds my expectations. I was able to charge two Samsung Galaxy S3’s and an iPhone 5S in no time! In about an hour, all three phones were fully charged! I have to say, this is now the best car charger that I own.
I highly recommend this to anybody that is in the market right now for car chargers or someone who wants something that charges their device fast while they’re travelling in their car. This has power, style, great build-quality, everything you can ask for. It even has a really nice, low price.
Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it!
I was provided a unit for testing purposes and I promised to provide a completely honest and fair review.
Unfortunately, I cannot post the link to this product on Amazon because posting commercial links is forbidden, but you can find it on Amazon by searching for the product's name that is in the title of this thread. Thanks!

Type C Cable in Exchange Your Honest Feedbacks

Would love to get one to review!
Hello,
I'd love to review the cables. I also have a dedicated volt and ampermeter counter hardware (usb counter, and a multimeter) and I have been hunting for good cables that can handle both data and carry good current. It's hard to find a good one and I'd love to participate.
Filled the form.
Thanks in advance,
Id love to do a review for the product, Im based in the UK if that makes a difference. But dont have the 10 thanks unfortunately, although been a user for a long time
Hello there,
I'd like to do a review of your USB Type-C Cable as the one that comes within the OnePlus 2 is really bad, and all I am going to do is test it out and give you my honest feedback.
Unfortunately have less thanks however i am interested to be a part in this ??
I'm lacking in thanks, but I have bought 10 different type-C cables from ebay/aliexpress. So I would have a lot to compare them to.
I would like to get one to review.

What are critically wanted from a USB charger?

Hi, there!
I have a product, a 60W 6-port USB charger.
And to be honest, it sells quite bad.
My reviewers think it rivals the leading brand in quality and performance, and can stand continous use. But, still, the market is somewhat negative.
So, could you kindly share with me what are critically wanted from such a USB charger based on your experience with these items? I mean I need your precious ideas on how to refine it.
Meanwhile, 2 reviewers are wanted sincerely(US please for the item location). I don't expect it to boost in sales now but I do hope to make people know there is another brand named Allmaybe and they are endeavouring to make products of good quality.
I love this forum and never mean to spam here. If you think the thread is not right, just tell me please, I will delete it.
Thank you for reading.

car accesories?

i opened this thread for discussion about car accesories for the pixel 3.
i'm specially interested in a dual 12v charger (one slot good for the pixel 3, another for standard usb smartphones); and too i'm looking for a phone holder.
anyone having experience with any of these?

I use this one from Aukey. It's half the price of the Anker.

And no distracting LEDs
I'm using this one from wicked chili.
Looks sleek in my opinion and has just a minor LED. Also not that expansive.

May be just interesting for Europeans, don't know if it's available in the US

Liked the combination so much that I bought another set for my other car. They go on sale all the time, so I'd recommend waiting so you don't have to pay full price.
I grabbed this one:

since I've had good luck with other Anker accessories
Looking for a BT system that doesn't have the 1-2 second delay like the one built into the car.

That's the best car charger I could find. Built in coiled USB C cable (for compactness/neatness) with a regular USB slot to charge additional devices when needed.
Got one of these in mine and the wife's cars and they've worked great since my Nexus 5x days.
Looking for a cable usb a to usb c works well (fast charges) in a qc 3.0 car charger for pixel 3. Any suggestions?

I see that thing is BT 4.1. If it's low latency you're after, look for something that supports BT 5.0. Also if you're looking to use a BT receiver for music or the highest quality sound available right now, look for ones supporting both BT 5.0 and APTX HD.

I saw several options in the thread, but any of them are from amazon. I personally prefer the source - China, where everything from amazon actually is manufactured. Just've got car charger with dual sockets - USB-A and USB-C. It cost me $4.99 at sale, now $6.99:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Baseus-30W-Dual-USB-C-PD-Quick-Charge-QC-4-0-Car-Charger-For-Mobile-Phone/32919769665.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.17524c4dQHBim9
It's Baseus 30W Dual USB C PD Quick Charge QC 4.0 Car Charger. Nicely packed (perfect as a gift). Checked how it works - perfect for Pixel 3 and Pixelbook. Tested both sockets, no surprises, it USB-С rapid charge, in USB-A just charge. It comes pretty fast - ordered Dec 29, delivered Jan 11. It's not overnight, but you know - time is money. About phone folder I use simple one, without any build-it charger for $1.59 or even $1.19 for weird color:

Pretty strong spring, good grip. Again, similar thing at amazon cost way more. This is why if I see something interesting at amazon, I search similar thing at aliexpress and almost always find exact the same thing at approximately half price. Hope it helps.
Agree with Che. Most things on Amazon are overpriced. There's pro's and con's to buying overseas though.
My biggest concern when going through stores like Aliexpress or Wish is quality and customer service (in case you have questions, received the wrong product, etc.) They either take a week or more to get back to you, or don't get back to you at all.
The other issue is the obvious one. Shipping speed.
Other than those things, I've noticed the reviews on those sites seem completely fake. There's a lot of the same type of comment, someone's verbatim, for certain types of products. As an example, check out the comments for bluetooth receivers on Wish. It's easy to spot if you look for it.
Now even with all these things considered and even if they're all true, it doesn't mean the product isn't worth the price. It also doesn't mean the product isn't a high quality one. But how do you really know what you're getting?

The customer service is actually pretty good. Only twice nobody answered my questions, but they just silently refunded in full as I requested. Mostly they reacted literally in hours. I've never tried Wish, I use only Aliexpress or other sites from Alibaba group (you can see list of them at the bottom of their page).

Yeah, this is the real issue if you need something fast. Usually it is in a month, but in holiday season can be way longer (the worst case was 3 months, but I wasn't in rush). Again, as I mentioned - time is money. I was surprised this season - despite of warning of 60-day delivery, they delivered in less than 20 days (ordered Dec 10 2018, delivered before Christmas - wow!). Now many Aliexpress stores have warehouses in the US, so it can be even several days.

About quality and reviews - just use your common sense, like at ebay. As I mentioned, "if you see something interesting at Amazon" - so use Amazon's reviews to get a real review. The brandname at a gadget can be different, but remember OEM - they print whatever name you'd like, so if items look alike, they usually identical. Don't forget Google search, including image search. Also don't forget basic research of a seller - how long the store is active, how many positive reviews, what sort of negative reviews they have - some customers are just inadequate. Also positive reviews can be faked, negative - less likely. And. of course, you are right - it's easy to spot a fake one in both categories.
About returns - have never returned anything there, so have no idea how it works if it does. If something's wrong, a seller at Aliexpress in my case prefer to refund and leave you with a defective item. Once there was a shipping charge, so I discussed with the seller that issue and politely pointed that is illogical to pay for delivery of an non-working gadget and they agreed, refunding a half of the delivery charge, as I offered (I had two identical gadgets in my order and one was dead).
A little experience of interacting with Chinese stores - they value their names pretty much. They don't like to "lose face", so if you have a problem - contact them first instead of opening a dispute right away. Almost always we reached mutually acceptable solution. In case of Aliexpress, as I know, they have pretty strict policy there - if a seller hit 95% or less of positive feedback, Aliexpress will kick them out. This is why they are attentive, expecting your high (5 stars) feedback in return. It's better to lose some bucks, than whole business. Also keep in mind cultural differences - it's normal for a Chinese to see business relations as friend's relations. So don't hurt their feelings - it pays back. As everywhere.
Hope you are not bored to death by my long note.

Yeah I end up not getting it as Mazda actually made a retrofit kit available to enable Carplay and Android Auto in the CX9. So I went that route instead and it works really well now.

I don't blame you there. I'd much rather go with something that is built in than an extra box you have to plug into a jack and hide somewhere.

EarFun TW100 - cheap and (ear)fun airpods

Hello!
I'm a big fan of wired headphones. Nevertheless, I have decided to explore what the 21st century has to offer finally and bought myself a new pair of shiny Bluetooth headset from EarFun, which is a producer of my new Bluetooth speaker Go.
Free or TW100, the new product from EarFun, is a decent alternative to the more powerful (and of course pricey) product from Apple. While the Cupertino's pride sells its product for a whopping $160 (it's Apple, duh!), EarFun is a more pocket-friendly, as their headset costs just $50.
Without further ado, you can see the photos in the attachments.
And here are the functions:
Free uses almost the newest Bluetooth 5.0 to communicate with your smart device. The quality of the connection is satisfying. I have experienced some hiccup during my walk to work, but skips were very rare and short. According to the producer, the headphones work up to 15 meters from the source of the sound. This is a great result. I haven't tested it, because my flat is too small If I had to be picky, I would say that these headphones might have been a little louder, but the good sound isolation makes the music really easy to listen without a hearing loss.
The headset comes with a fancy case, which is also a charger. According to EarFun, one charge can give you up to 6 hours of constant usage and extra 24 hours stored in the case's battery. Headphones charge relatively quickly, and the case can be recharged with a USB-C cable or a Qi pad (I don't have one to test it). The device is also waterproof.
In overall, EarFun TW100 is a decent device and I can easily recommend it. 8,5/10. You can get it on Amazon.
They look like the Creative Outlier Air.

Anyone have on they can recommend? Do they all work or are there certain things to look out for?

As with many things created, there are worse and better ones. Usually, the more expensive the better. Look for one with these specs: 384khz-32bit. You may not have music which can utilize that spec but generally, this cable will be of higher quality than cables spec'd with lower values such as 192khz-24bit. If you're shopping on "Nozama", your best bet is to look at the star ratings and how many people rate the cable. The more 5 and 4 star ratings, and more importantly, the less 1 star ratings, the higher the chances of the product being a great item. But I'm sure you already knew that. Let me know which cable you go with, I'm looking for one as well.
There are many different ones to choose from, not only for quality of sound but also some may have a more neutral works signature, others may be more warm, etc...
There is a good thread at head-fi.org on this. But for starters, what kind of headphones will you be plugging into the dongle? And what is your music source?
I have pretty expensive iem so I splurged on a pretty good dongle. I mean it really depends.
Thanks both of you for the tips. I went and got the one Google sells during the week.
I tend to use my Sony WH-1000XM3 most of the time. I just wanted something for occasional use of a pair of Blon BL03 I received earlier this year. It's more for convenience and to have the ability to use either when I want to.
As far as audiophile listening goes, I don't think either are to high up there.
I had to buy the original for it to work in my car and also the external mic. Google is pulling an Apple...
AS gar as i know only the ones following the usb-c standart with an integrated da converter work. Most really cheap Chinese ones are Just cable adapter. Because huwawei etc integrated the da into their phones. Which ist actually Not usb-c compliant.
I find the stock Google one to be terrible and does not output enough volume. There are definitely better options but they are far more than 10 bucks.
Don't waste your money for others
The Tempotec Sonata HD Pro is super high quality for the price, if you can live with its form-factor. Because this dongle is a small metal box and not an inline cable adapter, I wouldn't use it while walking around or working out. For desktop / bedside / airplane kind of use it is great. It's available from Amazon for < $40 and probably from other sellers as well.
If you need to use the headphones while your phone is in your pocket and you're walking around, one of the best inline dongles is actually Apple's USB-C Audio Adapter. Note that the Apple dongle has a fairly low maximum volume when used on Android phones, so if you buy one make sure you can return it. Review here: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...pple-vs-google-usb-c-headphone-adapters.5541/
In addition to the Pixel 5-only dongle problem, I have a second requirement. My Samsung S7 has, of course, a 3.5 mm socket - no dongle needed. Which means, and this one matters, I can use an external bettery pack to keep the phone going and still usable at the end of the day.
Does any P5 dongle meet this requirement, too?
I looked at the Tempotec review and discussion. There's a comment about a microUSB socket on the dongle. I'm waiting for my application for access to Head-fi to come through.
In the meantime, does anyone know of a dongle that also allows charging the P5 while a headphone dongle is attached?
I am using this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097ZMZGDQ
It allows me to charge the device while listening to music. I use it to connect to a boombox that supplies power to the device. The boombox is not a Hi-Fi device so I don't need a fancy external DAC. This one sounds fine on the boombox. Great for any old device that doesn't have Bluetooth.
The Apple one is best bang for buck and audio quality if you like a nice flat freq response.
