How to disable single app from updating with no menu button? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi -
I have the need to disable just a single app from updating from Google Playstore. On my Galaxy S4 I pull up my apps in Google Playstore, select an app, then hit the lower left button (menu button) and an option comes up to select/unselect auto-update. But on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4, that button doesn't work the same way, and nothing comes up. I also tried using Xposed Additions to program that button to a single press button that triggers menu, but that doesn't seem to trigger it either (even though it does trigger menu for some apps like Chrome).
Is there another trick to unselect auto-update?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Go to the play store, swipe right from the left side of your screen, hit settings and theres an option for auto update for all apps.
For a single app, just search the app and go to the app and hit the 3 dots on the top right.

Thank you, but I need to disable for only one app while leaving enabled for all the others. Is there a way to do this?

Hit the 3 dots on the right top and uncheck auto update. It will disable auto update for that app only

anyone know how to change out S-Voice to the google voice function?

I dont like s-voice, I would like to double tap have the google voice pop up, anyone know how to go about this?
Disable the double click in S-Voice.
Download Home2Shortcut from the Play Store.
Follow the steps in that app.
Hit the Thanks Button for me.
Enjoy.

Same thing works with the Bluetooth Launch app, download it, then select Voice Search, then select .com.Google.android.voicesearch.recognitionactivity.
Now, double tap the home key, and it should prompt you for which app you would like to open voice search with. Naturally, select Google Voice after checking the use this program by default checkbox.

OK, but how do I get the command search, it only brings up the search bar making have to once again press the mic to use the voice function. I would like the Command voice to come up. I'm not sure what it's called, but it the thing that pops up once you hit the mic on the search bar. lol
also, anyway to have voice come up on log press, and app switcher on double press?

This option only brings up the google search bar, which forces you to tough the mic again.

Yes you must have S-Voice on for double tap option. Sorry, left that out. I flashed google now, and took it off because it forces the fix I just told you about to quit working, the only thing that will come up on the double tap after that is voice dialer. It's a deal breaker for me, it will honestly keep me from going to JB until there is a fix! Be sure to use the thanks button!
does Google now remember relationships like "mom" or "wife" and can I have google now "send text to my wife"?
In Home 2 Shortcut, under step one, set application to Voice Search.
Now when you double click your home key, it'll start to listen right away.
FYI, my S-Voice double click is still disabled.

question, do you use the stock launcher? in Home2 shortcut, "Voice Search" is not a listed application as Samsung chose to hide it. Any shortcuts/tricks I can do?

[Q] Select Home dialogue keeps popping up

"Select Home" dialogue keeps popping up very frequently when I'm pressing the home button even though I've selected Home as default.
Anyone knows what causes this or how I can remove EasyHome?
I had the same problem when I had a widget for Smart Calendar Pro on my home screen. I've reported it to the makers of the app

I was having this issue too and the culprit was the Hotmail app... It's a bug in the Android system if any app has a language call Mata data (or something like that) it will forget your default settings of your home launcher.
I remove the Hotmail app and haven't had a problem ever since. If it wasn't for Nova launcher telling me which app was causing it, I would have probably returned my perfectly good running device.
If you don't have the Hotmail app installed, I recommend you use nova launcher and let it alert you which app is causing the issue. Uninstall that app reboot your phone and you should be good to go and then remove nova launcher if you so choose to.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I installed Nova Launcher (used it earlier but decided to give the default launcher a go for this new phone), but didn't really see where it could tell me what the culprit was.
Anyways, I managed to reproduce it pretty effectively.
Long press home button
Opens up Google Now
Short press home button
Select Home dialogue appears
I had the Google Home widget on my main home screen, removed that now.
Looks like the dialogue does not appear anymore, guess I'll know by the end of the day.

it appeared on mine after installing the 10j 'leaked' kdz.
could initiate the prompt as per the above steps above to long press hold to open google now then quick press home
removed it by uninstalling "Apps" application that appeared with 10j.
Shook187 u r awesome man
Thank you
Removing Netcom Apps solved the problem for me as well!
Thank you so much @shook187 and @Kentarii
Great suggestion!

I get the same thing.....had my phone rest twice. Didn't work. They sent me a new phone and not it does same thing. Love the phone except for this problem. THeir tech support sucks & all they say is send phone in with no loner for 7-9 days!! THey need to send a fix out in an update!!
Thank you so much shook187 for your suggestion. It worked for my LG G4.
1. I've installed the Nova launcher.
2. Then tried to press the home button number of times choosing the Nova Launcher.
3. Next I clicked on the Nova Launcher home screen and kept my finger until the setting wheel appeared.
4. I clicked on the setting and at the top was displayed notification ' Fix it app causing a problem'.
5. I clicked on the notification and selected uninstall.

Pixel launcher app info

Occasionally I'll have a problem where the "app info" does not appear at the top of the launcher while dragging apps around. It will be there one day, and the next it won't. I've attached pictures of my options when long holding an app.
This sucks when a app isn't responding and swiping it away doesn't close it. Instead of just long holding it and dragging it to app info, I have to open app drawer, go-to settings, go-to apps, find the app, then hit force close.
Is there some setting I accidentally enable and disable occasionally? Using official pixel launcher.
I noticed this too -- I went to developer options, turned the main switch off, and back on, and the rebooted. My "App Info" drag option came back.

Single tap to swipe option is gone!

Hello everybody,
Soon after getting the Pie update, after the first security small update, i noticed that on my wife's Galaxy S9 the setting "Single tap to swipe" option is gone. Anybody else having this problem ?
Thanks!
Same here. I have also preferred tap instead of swipe... Definitely i am going to change this Samsung brand...
Mee too! I'm very angry...
LOL, you guys break me up, so fickle that you'll change phones because of single tap to swipe feature missing. There is no way you could have even liked the phone if you'll drop it for this.
Same on S9+. It worked on One UI security patch January 1, but it is gone after February 1 update.
Lame, I thought my phone got stuck, took me few days until I tried to swipe, LOL...
I am used to end the call with Power key but never got the hang of using the Volume up key for answering calls, so I just used tap instead of swipe.
Now I guess I am doomed.
My workaround will be to try to get used to using Bixby key for answering calls since bxActions app has such an option.
Until they break that with some update also.
On Note 9 still working after the last update, hope they will not mess with it.
For some reason in latest update they moved it under: Interaction and dexterity -> assistant menu -> Single tap to swipe ....
but now i am stuck with useless menu on my screen (kept only one option in the menu) but when disabling the menu - single tap stops working
Thanks kabangena, with your help i found it. I have set the maximum transparency to the small assistant menu and i moved it in the upper right corner. I cannot see the icon anymore. It's a temporary fix, hope Samsung will do something about it.

same here , but it's still very annoying
Is anyone solved the issue, even with the third-party app? That's really annoying; why don't left that useful option "as is"?
You can hide the assistant menu by long press on it and a circle with "X Hide Here" appears in top center of the screen, drag it into the circle. This hides assistant menu in the notification panel. You have to see the notification every time you swipe down to open the panel, but it is completely hidden from the home screen.

Except, after the screen closes and I hit Home to open it again, this little piece of worthless junk is back.
I'd just leave it somewhere and ignore this POS, but it covers parts of apps that I regularly use.
Why do people think that deleting functionality is a good thing?
Finally I found the solution (not a permanent but still affordable).
- turn Settings->Accessibility->Interaction and dexterity->Assistant menu on and (inside "Assistant menu") set Single tap to swipe is on
- weird floating icon should appear but don't worry
- go to Settings->Apps, press "3 dots" in the top right corner and tap on Show system apps
- find an app called Accessibility, tap on, scroll all way down and remove Appear on top advanced permission (I've also disabled Change system setting)
- now scroll up, and tap on Force stop button
Weird button will disappear and re-appear after reboot only (you should repeat last step again after reboot but it's OK, I believe so)
Enjoy!
P.S. Thanks to user drmusou for his post.
[UPDATE] There is a permanent solution! Set Single tap to swipe option and disable package com.samsung.accessibility by Package Disabler Pro+ (Samsung).
Or just with ADB shell:
c:\adb>adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.accessibility
If you tap and hold the assistant menu you will have the option to hide it " it will re appear after reboot" but can do the same again ?

How do you turn off Samsung pay swipe up from home? It interferes with gestures.

Hey guys, anyone else using gestures and samsung pay? It appears that there used to be an option to only allow swipe up at the lock screen but I cant find it.
Thanks.
You've got to go into the pay app itself (open it up), go through the initial stages of the app's setup and then once you're on the main screen of the app - go into settings and you can turn that part off which interferes with the gestures at the bottom of the screen.

Thank you very much Sir!
Very odd that they make you reset the app to get to those settings.

Thanks for that! Hadn't realised it was active from the lock screen until now! Disabled it
Or you can just uninstall Samsung Pay which is the easiest way if you don't use it. I never use my phone that way so I don't need it.
