You need ICS firmware aswell, ICS kernels work only on ICS firmware, GB kernels work only on GB firmware.

Don't mix Stock ICS Kernel 4.1.A.0.562(ICS 4.0.3) with 4.1.B.0.431 firmware i did the same mistake and i had the sony Logo appearing repeatly. to make your fone boot correctly just flash any kernel based on 4.1.B.0.431 (ICS4.0.4) with any ROM (stock or custom)based also on 4.1.B.0.431 only
Man, read a little bit the threads at Android Development.
Some roms, you don´t need to unlock your bootloader to install.
About battery, if you have good signal strengh, you only need to root your phone and remove bloatware (sony apps) and your battery will start to last. I use stock ICS 4.0.4 rom with Stock kernel, stock baseband, and my battery usually lasts from 24 to 48 hours.
I use a program called 'No Cpu Frills' and set my cpu to the minimum of 133mhz and to the maximum of 1024mhz, even my phone being an Arc S.
The rom you´re going to use depends more on what you want from your phone. Some roms are designed for games, others for business, others just for ego (lol) and etc...
We have many good Roms for Xperia Arc and Arc S here. Take some days and test them... only you can say for sure what is best for you.
I, for example, before getting back to stock, used a lot the IceBean 4.2 (It´s xperia S´ rom with modifications. Very sexy, indeed.)
Good luck on your quest... =)

If you have unlocked your boot loader you cant install OTA updates or any official Sony updates. To get official Sony update from PC Companion or Sony Update service or Over the air you need locked boot loader. To install official Sony firmware on a device with unlocked bootloader you need to have a tool called flashtool installed on your PC.

[Q] [Flash Question] Flash Xperia S Firmware on Arc S Possible?

Has anyone with more abilities than me tried flashing Xperia S on Arc s Phone?
I know nothing about packing and unpacking kernels and systems...
But if it serves as a meter on my experiences, I've flashed all of Arcs Firmwares successfully, unlocked bootloader, Installed Custom firmwares on it, Cyanogenmod (4.1 and 4.2.2), P.a.c (4.2.2), MIUI. All sucessfully and used them for a long time.
As I know from friends that Arcs firmware can be flashed on Arc. Neo L firmware can be flashed onto the Xperia Play etc...
So would you know if with a little bit of tinkering Xperia S could be flashed on Arc S?
Or, if it is just bluberish?

Better not to try. You might hard brick your device. That means, that your device will be unrecoverable.

LeOpArDx 4.8 on Xperia S

Hi All,
I'd like to tell you that, LeOpArDx 4.8 version custom rom for Xperia S is superb. Please try it... All the features are working fine..
Most of the features of Xperia Z is ported in this rom ( you can always check the log).
First time i'm using custom rom.. didn't know which and all configurations and options to select while installing the aroma installer,
so selected all ( kitkat based features and xperia z honami based features ) and installed it..
Everything is working fine as of now.. Even the battery performance is also good when compare to stock rom..
This rom includes xposed installer which further gives you the power customising your phone to the maximum extent..
I suggest you guys, its really worth trying...
What i didn't find after installing this rom on my Xperia S
1. NumberPad Keyboard (No other keyboard comes close to it in giving you the best T9 experience on Android)
2. Not able to boot into CWM after installing this rom
Anybody plz suggest me a solution for the above 2 points

Its been over a month i'm using this custom rom, its quite good and stable. Things that won't work :
1. Google text to speech engine is not working.
2. Small apps are not working.
3. Camera AR effect works sometimes.
4. Battery doesn't last for a day if mobile data is on.
Apart from the above rest is working fine  ... One thing i noticed is , LeOpArDx 4.8 rom page says its based on 4.4.2 os, but mine still shows 4.1.2 ... And no update over OTA till now

The problem with the Xperia T3 (touch screen) :(

Hello!
My problem is that on the internet I found a video where the guy to your Xperia Z3 uploads ROM (previously downloaded from Xperifirm) on the Xperia Z1. I decided to try the same by uploading ROM on my T3 Xperia M2 but unfortunately the failure which resulted in the fact that after uploading Stock ROM for Xperia T3 18.1.A.2.25 touch is not working properly, below is a link to a youtube showing my problem .
h t t p s ://y o u t u .b e/KIzZNlvrFHo
I tried all sorts of ways to install CWM recovery 6.0.5.1 - Philz Touch 6.59.0 and recovery cleaning everything that is possible, then install Stock ROM Android 4.4.4 KK but without effectively the problem still is.
My question is whether there is any possible way to solve this problem?
I am asking for a quick answer!
P.S. Sorry for my English but I am Polish, and I use transtator, because my English is not very good.
