[Q] GT-i9195T - Help needed - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently have a GT-i9195T, which is a Telstra (Australia) variant of the i9195. I'm trying to flash a new ROM (pref CyanogenMod) but I'm getting highly conflicting information on whether it is possible on this model. I've searched numerous threads, websites and posts but all the information has been a mess.
Basically I'm looking for confirmation that it is possible on this phone, and help as to how to flash a recovery, rom and anything else needed to get it to work.
I've been flashing ROM's since the first days of Android, so I'm not entirely new to this but I have no experience with Samsung phones (which appear to be a little more complicated).
Has anyone successfully flashed a T model variant?

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Telstra firmware.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, and although I've had a look around, I've been unable to find any answers.
I am wondering where would I be able to obtain the stock Telstra firmware/ROM (Australia) for the Galaxy Nexus? And how would I go about returning it to its standard out-of-the-box state? My phone is currently flashed, but I need to return it for warranty purposes. Is this even possible?
Sorry if I'm just duplicating someone else's query,
Regards,
Jesse.

You should be ok just flashing the generic version (yakju). Instructions here. Otherwise, you would need to know what version ships on Telstra devices (e.g., yakjuxw, yakjuux, etc.) and you may be able to find that version floating around somewhere.

Hi I have a few questions about using a phone made for another neterwork (att) on tmo

Well in short I have an At&t Model GS4 the i337 its currently unlocked running on stock Nj4 and of course want to root it. First of all i suspect i need to use t mobile roms now that i am on that network.
Here is a list of questions and links are also appreciated as answers anything that helps!
First and foremost how should i root this (my last device was a G3) so if things are different please tell me also, I their an app or a thread you can point me to.
Secondly how do i update it to a v5.1 or the latest so updating them rom later is not a problem if i must use odin to do this (i want to use the latest to use odin the least)
Lastly anyone who can give directions on how to root and get to the latest version of android i wold greatly appreciate the time anyone spend to respond to this this post i TYIA
So any links that will work work with NJ4 I would be so happy I have only experience with the G3 I feel i know what to do with it but the Gs4 is new to me and i appreciate any help i receive/
Thank yo for reading this and TYIA for responding thank you for your help i hope its as simple as someone posting some links so i can do this easy i again thanks for leading me through the fog and TIA
@BeatnikBandit :
Basically, you're in the wrong forum. You'll need to get support fir the ATT version i337 over in the forum for that model. I used to have one, actually. I sold it on Swappa and got a T-Mo M919 S4 so that I could take advantage of all the AOSP ROMs for the M919. At least as of a year ago, there was no way to unlock the boot loader on the i337 and the only ROMs available for it were basically just skins on the TouchWiz kernel. ROMs, such as they were, used something called SafeStrap. Not sure if things have changed for that device in the year since I gave it up.
You can only use ROMs made for your model. So, even if the locked boot loader weren't an issue with the i337, its hardware is different from the Verizon or T-Mo variants. Using a ROM for a different model will give problems. On the T-Mo M919, there's a bit of an exception in that we're hardware comparable to the international variant, so we can often use ROMs for that one (9505 I think). Oh, and the M919 never got an official lollipop upgrade from T-mo before they gave up on it, so there are some issues with using LolliPop ROMs on the M919.
I'm sorry I can't help you with how to root, but presumably you will find that answer over in the i337 forum.
As for using the i337 on T-Mo, that should be easy enough. Just go in and enter the APN information for T-Mo (probably is in the T-Mo forum somewhere) in place of the ATT APN info and you should be good to go, presuming your phone is SIM-unlocked. Instructions on SIM-unlocking it should be in the ATT i337 forum, if you're not already unlocked. For example, when I got my M919, all I had to do to get it to work on ATT was enter the APN info from ATT, and BOOM I was on the network. I bought a pre-SIM-unlocked phone to avoid having to unlock it myself.
I hope this is at least a little helpful even if it's not all the answers you were hoping for.

Request for ROM for Butterfly 3?

Hi guys
I've attempted to put Marshmallow ROMs for M8 and M9 onto my Butterfly 3 and it didn't work. I've always had a more mainstream phone and been able to find ROMs easily, but not now...
I want to get rid of the au software that is on it, and fix the SMS issue once and for all (which I'm guessing has something to do with country code but I don't know how to fix it). My phone is already rooted and bootloader unlocked, and I was really hoping M9 ROMs would work on it but I kept getting errors.
I don't have the know-how to tweak the existing ROMs so they will work on the Butterfly 3, nor do I know how to tweak anything on my phone to make SMS work properly.
Really appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in advance.
I have japan and asia model side by side, moved bunch of APKs left and right and never got that crappy sms thing working on japan model. I tried Lineage OS but it doesn't work on Japan HTV31 model. If anyone has some custom rom for this phone I would love to try it.

Getting Back Into Custom Roms & Firmware Question - M9

Hey guys, so it's been a while since I've had a decent phone. My last was an M7 that was S-off, unlocked, and had a custom rom.
It's been a year or so since I've been in the scene, and I'd like some tips. Mainly because I'm seeing stuff left and right about
firmware on the M9, and so I don't want to flash anything before knowing what's what. I have a At&T unlocked M9 and my software version is 1.32.502.9. Running Android 5.0.2 Any info on Firmware, Rom requirements would be greatly appreciated. I'm good on
unlocking the boot loader and rooting. Thanks!
Please read the ReadMe thread for general information and the opening post of the thread of the rom that you want to use for specific information.

I have a few questions about com flashing.

Hello everyone! I bought a Verizon note 8 and flashed an unlocked firmware on it. Now that I flashed the firmware how do I receive updates? I've been looking around (I've been out of the loop for flashing and rooting for a few years btw) and haven't quite found a definitive answer. I'm on baseband N950U1UEU3BRA5 how do I Get to the latest on everything (security patches and whatever else I need) so I can prepare for oreo? Any info helps thanks guys!
