lg apps not updating or downloading on v20h stock lollipop - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is anyone having the same issue as me,
i came from kitkat and flashed v20h stock rom and supersu as per the instructions, everything works fine except my lg apps such as quickmemo+ and lg remote cannot be downloaded using the update centre,
i managed to find the apk and install, and it just doesn't let me update them either,
anyone had this problem before?

Same Boat.
Any solutions? I have the same problems after flashing to Lollipop also. However, I did make a mistake of wiping "internal storage." This is the glitch after that screwup. I resolved the other issues (no softkeys and no notification bar) by flashing Kitkat THEN LP. This issue remains, so I restored LG apps from Ti backups. but they will NOT download and/or update. They do work.
This all started because my 1st LP flash self destructed. It kinda feels like a permission thing. I am hesitant to do another reset (the right one). But I don't want to go forward until I fix this. I think the reset must do something to the LG App Updates app when you fist boot. I think it must see some stuff from internal storage that I had zapped. Since it was't there and now fails.
I know we can't be only two. problem seems rare though. So far.

Music Stops with Screen Off (F460K)

Hey guys I've had this issue where regardless of what music app I use, a few seconds after I turn my screen off (i.e. lock the device) the music will stop playing until I turn it back on.
Anyone have any idea why? I'm on version 10e (latest according to PC Suite and OTA Checker), and I'm stock unrooted.
Other than that the phone's been amazing and blazing fast, even outspeeding my M8 GPE sometimes
Sent from my LG G3 Cat.6 using Tapatalk
Also, when charging, this problem doesn't occur. This further adds to the mystery...
Also, it happens if I have music local or streaming, so that rules out network issues.

UPDATE: OK so after messing with about every single setting on the phone, I tried switching it back to Dalvik. Fixed everything 100%. Whole phone is faster, from opening apps to web pages.
Very strange... Not sure why there would be so much ART incompatibility, but I guess it's 4.4.2 and not .3 or .4. If anyone else has has this problem (including an inability to wake the phone up without a few tries), check your RunTime. I'm hoping it'll be better next update, but for now this'll have to do.

Hi there!
I have exactly the same problem since I updated the phone to Lollipop (D85520A) but before that I didn't have that problem. Firstly I found this when I updated to D85519H and then I performed another update to the current version (D85520A) and it didn't help. The smartphone is way better, but this problem is really ennoying me.
ART is not available on Lollipop and my phone went only for one day to ART mode and it was a pain in the ass (when I still had 4.4.2) and then I switched back to normal.
I am thinking about to a factory reset and reinstall Android 5.0 on CSE mode AGAIN and see what happens, but I think it won't help at all.
Do you have any idea of what could I do in order to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Fixed
Hi there!
Just a short update.
Like I mentioned before, I got this problem when I updated my phone with the new Lollipop FW (D85519H) and then I tried to perform another update using the D85520A but the problem was still there. So I believe that the update didn't fix the issue from the previous update so I performed another clean update using the same last one and the problem disappeared.
Thank you anyway.

[Q] Need to downgrade, how?

Greetings, I wonder if somebody can solve the following problem. I'm from Venezuela and I bought this model GT-I9192 in December 2013 when the update came out this year it was updated from 4.2.2 (JellyBean) to 4.4.2 (KitKat). I almost never use the camera of this phone and then I noticed that every time I opened the camera app I would get "Warning: Camera Failed". Thinking it was the update I proceeded to install the Cyanogenmod rom 11 for this model, but continued with the same problem. The flash works every time I turn the flashlight application. I took it to a technician telling me that the problem was not hardware but software. This is where my troubles began. I do not remember which firmware was installed. I tried to install several firmwares 4.2.2. but without success all with flashing failures. However, I could install version 4.4.2 of Trinidad and Tobago but with the same camera error. Hopefully someone can help me with this problem. I would like to know exactly what firmware should download to install? Thank you very much.

I registered here just to answer your question.
My Android expertise is very limited but I try to learn from past experience. If I understand correctly, your want:
1. the camera should work.
2. the phone should function properly.
If you do not remember your original firmware, do not worry as it does not matter. Once your upgraded to KK, Knox (google it) kicked in to prevent you from downgrading to JB. That's why all flashing efforts to downgrade failed. So, you can keep your phone with KK if the phone works except camera. In case you want to downgrade to JB, I am sure that able XDA members can help you with that. I am unaware if such methods exist.
Now, to see if the camera works there are several methods. I encountered the same problem with my wives i727 Skyrocket which has JB 4.1.2 installed. One day the camera suddenly failed with the error "Warning: Camera Failed". The flash-light worked flawlessly so I was a bit perplexed. I researched and found several remedies:
1. From application manager, clear cache/data of the camera app and restart phone - Tried this several times, did not work.
2. Perform factory reset- Thought I'd use it as a last resort as the phone had gigs of data in it.
3. Uninstall apps (last installed app uninstalled first and so on) - I uninstalled the last installed app and restarted the phone. Voila! The camera was back. I have no explanations why but it just worked.
Let us know how it goes, good luck!
On the i9195, it is possible and easy to downgrade to JB since there's a 4.2.2 firmware which is similar to the 4.4.2 firmwares, but I don't know about the i9192.
Be careful with this;
If you know what you are doing, get the CWM recovery, format system/data and flash a 4.4.2 firmware again. If that didn't fix it, I suspect that it's a hardware problem and it's having problems with the software, but there should be something wrong with the hardware, for sure.
Good Luck.

The problem, in fact is a fault in the hardware problem. If it's still under warranty, request a new phone.

after restoring KDZ, no "LG" apps ***SOLVED***

Hello friends. I need to explain this problem:
When I bought my phone for the first time, I remember when I made it a full wipe from shortcuts on the phone's buttons, LG applications are maintained.
Now after having rooted my phone, installed TWRP and have installed several roms, I have decided to re-stock with KDZ.
But the problem is that after having flashed the KDZ, LG applications has disappeared.
I'll put screenshot after performing a restore kdz:
***SOLVED***
Flashing original TOT Firmware contains complete firmware.
KDZ not contain all firmware.
I had a similar issue as yours back on my Galaxy s4, except it was the carrier apps (bell) that would be missing, and I also wouldn't get the "LTE" icon after a stock firmware flash if I was going from a rom that didn't already have the icon (weird I know).
Anyways I was able to fix the issue by doing a SECOND flash EVERYTIME I went back to stock rom.
I flashed 100's of times on my s4 and EVERYTIME I went back to stock I had to do 2 flashes or I would have "missing apps"
I never had this issue with my g3 yet, but I haven't tried to go back to stock yet since changing to cloudy rom.
I don't know if this fix will work for the g3 like it did on my s4, but it can't hurt to try.

exactly this happened to me when I try to install the ROM Cloudy, when I want to go back to stock with kdz, the LG system applications disappeared.
My question is this?
The KDZ not come with these pre-installed applications?
It is out of reach of KDZ, it will be in another folder outside SYSTEM.
It's strange, now my question is that will not see problems in an OTA update.
LOL, that strangest problem. :silly:
Solved Mystery...... Flash TOT contains complete stock firmware. :good:
KDZ not contain all firmware.

[Q&A] [STOCK] [NO ROOT] android.system.acore crash after 20b OTA

Hey all.
At my whits end. I just got the OTA for 5.0.1 (20b) to upgrade from 4.4.2 (10r). I was quite happy with the stability of 4.4.2 since my previous phone was an HTC One M8 with 4.4.4. I really like 5.0.1, unlike most people, I like the interface and added features, even though not all 3rd party apps can still not write to External SD.
But ever since I installed the official update, "android.system.acore" keeps crashing, preventing me from using any Google service, Dialer, Contacts, composing Email (through AquaMail), and using LG Backup. Called T-Mobile tech support and they said that this process is part of the central Android system and affects basically everything. That they have never had a report of this on any recent phone and haven't seen it since very early Android systems (Pre-ICS). They said the only sure way of fixing this is a Factory Reset.
Obviously I would prefer NOT to do that. Any solutions? Please. Prefer not to root, but will if I have to, especially if I can easily unroot.

Unfortunately when stuff like that happens after an update, a factory reset is a must. Especially to a big update like lollipop that has a lot of systems changes.
The same thing just happened to me this morning. Last night I started getting massive duplicate text messages - 1 every 15 minutes for the whole night. I tried clearing the messaging app and storage data and cache, multiple resets, different text apps, etc and nothing worked. This morning the acore message started running every 5 seconds. I've tried clearing the contants app and storage cache and data and that doesn't work either.
I'm mentally gearing up for a factory reset unfortunately. Given that I generally dislike all of the user interface and behavior changes in v5, this is just adding insult to injury. I'll probably end up rooting just to get things back to where I liked them...

If you don't like the interface, not to dissuade you from rooting, but you could always install an alternative launcher. That doesn't 3ven require root or a custom ROM.

So then should I just reset and not upgrade to 5.0.1, stay at 4.4.2? Or reset and reupgade back to 5.0.1? Or stay at 4.4.2 until the next update after 5.0.1 (which at the rate LG goes, could be years)? Or would it be safe to use a custom or stock ROM with Lolly? Or should I just assume that 5.0.1 is completely toxic for my phone.

if you do factory reset after you upgrade ROM, it will stay at whatever ROM you have, in your case 5.0.1.

According to your post you upgraded to the Lollipop rom already via OTA. So by factory reseting your phone now it will still be on the lollipop. But I am saying that by reseting the phone, you will have all your errors fixed and lollipop should be stable as KitKat if not better. If factory reset does not fix your issues that means that the updating process on your phone did not finished correctly, which is rare, then you would need to flash via KDZ. But if you are not against rooting and custom recovery, I highly recommend you do that instead of flashing KDZ.
Update for folks: I ended up doing a factory reset (what a pain) which fixed the problem. A few hours later as i was logging back in to all my apps and accounted, acore started failing every 5 seconds again. I read on a different forum that it was liked to Facebook trying to sync contacts which killed the contacts app. I uninstalled Facebook and everything works fine. So it looks like a bug in Contacts that something in Facebook is hitting and causing it to die.

Marsh-mellow Issues, hardware?

Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone could maybe figure out this issue which has been troubling me for about a month or so.
I have ran marshmellow before absolutely fine however decided to flash lollipop back on my phone as I felt the battery life was better.
Anyway, whenever I come back to any version of the Marshmallow roms, i'm greeted with not being able to set a lockscreen (lockscreen has crashed), I cannot uninstall apps without a force reboot and I cannot access the security settings on the phone without it crashing.
I've tried wiping pretty much everything and it seems to be on all roms. I've tried multiple from fresh.
Any ideas?
Much Appreciated

DO you know if flashing back works on verizon? I loved this phone until MM...
Also any insight on the steps, did you just use LGUP and get the KDZ off Sotragecow?

@zwalk - sorry for the late response. I did exactly that. Seemed to fix everything. I recommend trying 20f or 20g if it works with your phone as it seems to fix battery issues.
