When starting the camera just ripples (see the attached image) and after 20 seconds the application closes with an error. In this case, the front camera works without problems. Hardreset did not help. Replacing the camera did not help, the problem remained. What else could be the problem?

Most likely a problem in which a controller or the processor.

My touch pro2 often hangs up when taking a picture with the camera and viewing photos with the album. To describe the problem more precisely, the device hangs up when the camera is trying to get the focus with its auto-focus function and when the camera is returning from the preview mode. After soft-resetting, things get back to normal.
I tried the following things, but they did not solve the problem.
-Changing the photo storage place from the SD card to the main memory
-Turning off Touch Flo 3D
In several occasions, I got device.exe errors thus I am assuming this is the cause of this problem.
Can anyone be of assistance to solve this problem?
I often take pictures so this problem is very annoying.

Have you found any fix for your problem. Sounds similar to my problem but searching hasn't gotten me anywhere. I started a post, but no luck there either.

had the same problem and did a clear storage to reset to default settings and the error msg's are gone

I have tried this, have installed ROM many times without any luck. Don't khow what to do. Do you have any other solution???

I ordered a new rear facing camera for my phone and installed the new one, but now when I go to the Camera app says the gallery has stopped, or comes up and says the camera is not detected then closes the app. The front facing camera works fine and the old camera module I had in it works still too. Do I need to wipe and reinstall my ROM, or is it just a bad module? I noticed that it has 120511 on the board and my original shows 120411 so maybe it's just not compatible? The reason I was replacing it is because the old camera has marks/spots that show up when you try and take pictures. I tried to clean it with a cotton swab and condensed air which I think helped a little but can't get it fully clear. :crying:
Could be a driver issue i suppose if it is in fact a different hardware version.
Hi, my rear camera on my M8 it was working fine until few days ago when it suddenly stopped. In the camera application i am only able to switch between selfie and photo booth. Also, rear flashlight is not working, application is loading infinite. I tried to clear cache/data for camera app, disable/enable, uninstall updates, downloading retrica (it just shows black screen for rear camera). Also, i flash a new RUU MM but the problem is still there, so i guess it is a hardware issue. Anyone had similar problem or any other ideas ? Also, if rear camera is failing flashlight cannot work as standalone ?
After i upgraded to MM the problem was solved. Yesterday the problem returned again. Can anyone help me ? The warranty has expired.

Hi I've been experiencing some troubles with my camera and after searching through forums for a fix I saw that many people had FC's on camera app by zooming or the can't connect error.
I have an lg with a similar not the same issue. It's on stock v20u no bumped no root , camera app only shows black and after a while FC's , no can't connect error.
Third party camera apps shows only front camera no button to swich to rear.
Thinking that might be a faulty camera I've replaced it with a brand new. Still black.
Then factory reset the phone, after that camera still black and FC.
Clear cache and data of camera app. Still no luck.
Motherboard problem ? No fix ?

Many people say they never had a camera issue on Android N but I'm still suffering from that.
Nothing more, just like the old days: When I try to activate the camera app, the whole phone will freeze and reboot in a few seconds. After that, I still cannot use camera unless I reboot my phone again because camera app always FC or says "can't connect to camera".
Is there anybody dealing with the same problem? I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue because when it is fine, it works fine, I can take any photo for a period and after a while it broken again.
Tried flash any ROMs like factory image, xTraSmooth, Stock+, Bliss and CM, they doesn't fixed anything. Even if there are no 3rd party apps in my phone, this issue still happens.
I have a different problem
My problem is with the HDR+ function. Yellow to brown vertical stripes appear on the photo whenever I snap a pic of a white object or white background. It only happens when I shoot something white with HDR+ on. Anybody else has this problem?
