[[help]] can't Flash with non Sense UI ROMs

help.. i have stock desire with 080 hboot... bought 2nd hand... then i root using unrevoked3 and using AmonRA 1.7.0.1 Recovery R5... the main problem i can't flash non Sens UI ROM souch as
[ROM-FROYO AOSP] OpenDesire v3.1.2 (720p | **2.6.34.4 Kernel**) (15/08)
[ROM-FroYo] DeFroST 2.8a (15-08-2010 |720P|AOSP FRF91|2.6.34 | A2SD+)
[ROM] Gefrost-R4 (13-08-10) Galaxy S Style 720p A2SD+, Touchwiz, Music mod
the only working ROM (Sens UI) so far i've tried
[ROM][14/08] ۵.NexTSense v5.2 Official Sense-FroYo 2.2 ·(720p|2.09|AP2SD+|Multilangu)
[08/08][Official Froyo] DJ Droid v1.2 - HTC Sense - HD 720p - Base 2.09
i already follow flashing procedure like format Sdcard to fat32, wipe cache,wipe davlik, wipe factory data etc.. still no luck. already change sdcard 3 times.. still no luck.sometimes stuck on HTC logo screen and sometimes stuck on bootscreen.. when im able to start the rom, it only able use the ROM (non sense UI) less than 30seconds then my phone freeze and stuck on HTC or bootscreen (pic attached)

anyone???........

flash clockworks latest recovery instead. can be found in a zip file to flash or can be found in the newest version of unrevoked. the recovery developer has a full list on his site which im sure you can find if you search for it and you can flash that.
once you flash that do a full wipe of the system from the recovery menu. and flash any zip. it should work.

Could be that those roms use a2sd+ and you will need a ext3 partition to use them. Have a search on here to find how to partition your sd card.

a2SD+ is optional.
for it to work you need an ext2/3/4 partition on your sd card depending on what rom you are using. i think a full wipe should do the trick. im just trying to get the user to update to the latest recovery image.

I got the same problem but mine is crazy reboots on non sense roms.
I think it's the kernel that's not stable on some handsets.

already format my sdcard, partition my sdcard and upgrade from rxt 2 to 3 still not working. already try 3 times with different sdcard size, brand and class still not working

not working. wipe cache, davlik, wipe data/factory reset, batree status, rotate seting, format sd partition still not working

already try on another HTC desire.. no problem with 2nd desire but haveing problem on mine...

well... not all IC chips are made the same.
some can run stable on overclock, some can run on undervolt
ours is just not made to do it. too bad.

Help!SD card problem with update to 2.13.707.2

Hi, everybody,
I received an update notice for my Asian version desire 2.13.707.2 yesterday, but it couldn't be downloaded, it says Error saving update, that an error occurred while saving the system update to my SD card and I need to replace it
My SD is working fine and I haven't rooted my phone, I just activated the app2sd using the adb
Could anyone please help me with this? thank you very much in advance

thanks for the help, but I have 35MB on my phone and 6G on the SD card, space shouldn't be a problem
and also the download becomes successful instantly after I start downloading, then after I click on it, it says the problem

Hi.. just updated to this version. But some camera problem arise. Sometimes when i start the camera or video, the phone will hang and reboot itself. Then it will stuck on the white htc logo.. and i have to remove the battery and sd card just to get phone reboot again. have to do it several times.
any idea why this happen and how to solve this? Any help will be much appreciated. is this update have buggy camera?

Did you root your phone in any way?

Just little bit confuse, when i'm using data plan there is update notification, but wen I'm using wifi and check for update, there is nothing to update.

upgraded to 2.13.707.2 last night, nothing problem with camera either video camera. I'll check it again.

i recieved notifications that there is an update which is the 2.13.707.2
and i downloaded it via wi-fi but i have problems installing it.. it has error like this..

can i install OTA update even if my phone is rooted? what should i do? or is it good to install that update?

You can install the update but it's likely to screw your phone up so its recommended that you don't install OTAs on a rooted phone

also got the update on Sunday, first it did not work because I did not have 25MB of storage, after I deleted some stuff it worked fine for me, no problems to install.
---edit: Got the message and I downloaded it via Wifi

Nope. I just did it through ota update. Now that i have unroot my desire and install auraxtsense rom 8.2, the camera problem still happens.
Please, any idea? The camera was working fine before i upgrade to this version.

[Q] Why am i having problems with different roms!?! HELP ASAP

Well every time I try to flash a new rom it just goes in a bootloop. I know that when i create a nandroid backup it skips sd ext. Does missing my sd ext cause major problems and how do i fix it?

Not have the partition is not going to affect it, other than that message you're seeing. Have you tried restoring a known working backup?

Edit: You also want to make sure you fallow instructions to the letter and do a full wipe before flashing any ROM.

before this thread gets capped -
im not the best guy to be taking advise from... lol
but when this happened to me - 3 rom flashes in a row, all looping ...
my "fix" was to full wipe twice
flash new rom - let boot all the way until everything gets done syncing "including" any market updates
then reboot and do your kernal, or theme if wanted...
even if you do a nandroid, wiping twice helped me alot...

Im pretty sure you have the slcd screen.Check menu -settings-about phone-hardware information-I bet under hardware version yours is 0003? The amoled is 0002.

To fix the sd-ext problem, you have to first back up EVERYTHING on your SD card to your computer, then you can use ROM Manager to partition your SD card and create the SD-EXT partition

Not having an SD extension is not going to affect your rom flashing. It's not a problem. All it allows is for moving of apps to the SD card to conserve internal storage space, which is kinda unnecessary unless you have a bajliion apps.
Full wipe. Wipe EVERYTHING you can inside ClockworkMod Recovery: Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache (Under the Advanced menu option)
And if you do have the SLCD screen (Hardware 0003) find an SLCD compatible kernel and flash that after every rom and you're gold.

There is nothing to fix. It is completely normal and you'd be wasting space on your sd card by creating a partition that odds are you'll never use.

My bad, they're right, my mistake for calling it a problem, that implies that it NEEDS to be fixed, which isn't the case lol good catch guys

Just to echo what was said above, I don't have the SD-EXT partition, get the notification every time I wipe and have never had a problem with dozens of ROM flashes.
Like already said, make sure you wipe everything, flash your ROM and appropriate kernal if you do have an SLCD screen.

[Q] Internal storage on tommytomatoes Classic Rom

I'd love to post directly to the thread in the developers section to ask this, but until then, can someone testing The Classic v0.0.9 let us know how internal storage is with the latest update?
I'm currently on Classic v0.0.6 with a substantial number of apps moved to SD card with Apps2SD Pro, and still only have about 47 mb of available space in Internal Storage. Just wondering if the latest version has more/less/or about the same amount of internal storage than v0.0.6?

I'm running 0.0.9 and have a ton of free storage, however I'm using dta2sd on a partitioned SD card. I'm not familiar with apps2sd pro.

Apps2SD Pro just moves part of the app. Data and cache still stay in the internal storage of the phone for the apps. If you use a lot of apps you may want to partitioned your sd card and flash dta2sd. This way the app and data will be moved to sd partition. You can even move the cache if needed. Hope that helps.

I wasn't familiar with dta2sd. Just read some posts stating that this rom already has it. Should I move the apps back to phone using Apps2SD, uninstall Apps2SD, then move to apps back again with dta2sd?

Is your sd card partitioned? If not you must do so to use dta2sd. Just make sure to backup all data from your sd card to your pc before doing so.

Sorry. I did mean to include in earlier post that my SD card is partitioned already. Thanks for all of the help.

Then all you need to do is go into terminal emulator. Type su. Then type a2sd reinstall. This will activate A2SD and move your apps and data to the sd partition. This is if the rom you have has a2sd baked in already. If not you will need to flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715938

I'm not sure if it's related, but after flashing DT a2sd, I was able to reinstall the google search box widget on Classic Rom. For some reason, I kept getting errors about a month or 2 ago. So I tried to uninstall/reinstall. For the past month or so, when tried to reinstall/download from Play, I kept getting error message.
Thanks again for this recommendation on a2sd.

This is by far the smallest internal storage usage I've had with any ROM. I also have my SD partitioned
and use ROM Toolbox's App2SD...
...and I know its off subject but I would like to share...
...this blows away any battery life I've had with other ROMs and kernels and tweaks.

The drawback is , the ROM supports only primary SIM ... No second sim . Apart that , this ROM is superb

Either delete cell broadcasting.apk file from system/apps or freeze mobile broadcasting from titanium backup.

To avoid these notifications..
Go to settings>More>Subscription settings
And turn off all the subscriptions

Hi, I am using Grand i9082, have installed Carbon ROM but now internal memory is showing only 4GB instead of 8GB. earlier i had some 3+ gB free. Pls help, how can i get my 8GB internal memory back.
also the internet browser is not allowing any download even with different downloading software like FVD.
request you to pls reply ASAp

This is normal. Of the 8 GB, 3gb++ is system data.

Our grand has 8 gb total internal memory, of which 4Gb is taken by system files. The rest 4 Gb(or sometimes 3.7Gb, depending on the ROM) is available for us to use. The stock rom shows full 8GB, other aosp based roms show this only.This definitely does not mean that you had 8GB available before using this rom. You had about 4Gb available.

Check your internal SD data. I am sure you have some huge files lying around. It could be pics, music, videos.
If you can't find even that, you have to format your phone as a last resort.

Lock screen Issue!!
I have installed carbon rom on my Grand Duso GT I9082.
Whenever I set lockscreen background, image will be moved to right from the selected area of pic.
In short if I select 2nd half for the background, unfortunately rom setting up 1st half.
Why I am finding this bug??

My data won't work
I have a samsung galaxy grand running carbon rom version 20140806-1145
I recently clean flashed it, everything is working perfectly except the mobile data, I can turn it on but no icon appears and it doesn't work. I have checked the APN and it's the same as it should be by the service provider, I think the problem is that I can't choose the network mode, as in I can't choose GSM or WCDMA, PLS HELP!!
Will the new 20140817 update fix this problem?
