I've never upgraded or had a backup battery for any phone I've had but it makes sense to buy one for the LG G3 as it's always dead by time I get home from work and then I spend most of the time charging it next to the wall and unable to use it. Does anybody have any recommendations on a battery to use? I'm not a fan of the bulky 6000mah batteries that make your phone look like it has a big arse. I just want the highest capacity battery that will fit with the normal back cover. I think I'll charge both batteries and then swap in the morning and the evening so I always have it charged.
I've seen this one on eBay: LOPEDO BATTERY LG G3 (I can't post links yet, so it's literally the first result on eBay, 3300mAh for £9.98)
Is there a better version available? Does the higher mAh it is mean that it is better in general or will an optimised "high powered replacement" 3000mAh battery beat the standard LG G3 battery? Thanks..

Hi i got a 3300mAh battery for my lg p990 on www.amazon.co.uk for €20 i think. Dident do much that old dog still drained out by the end of the day could be i was running avatar rom on it. On stock rom you might get more than a day ?
Have you considered buying a power bank? See, I had this issue too, but I've simply bought a power bank in order to give my phone an extra 50% of battery life. You can find them in all sizes and with lots of different capacities, some will even fit in your pocket with your phone. Here's two that I personally use.

So I know there are a couple of posts on here but I have found them a little hard to follow. I just got my captivate last sunday and on the stock 2.1 rogers rom I noticed that the battery life was very poor. Since then I am now running cog 3.01 i think and my battery life is now alot longer than before.
For the way I would like to use my phone It is still not enough for what would make me happy. my phone is unplugged at 6:00 am and when i get home by 5 it used to be dead but after "breaking in the battery" and the new rom i get home with about %15 percent battery.
I just bought a triple battery pack off of ebay for $10. these batteries are rated at 1500 mAh, the same as the battery that came with my phone. I am just wondering what I can expect from these batteries.
My plan is to drain two of them completely then leave them in my desk drawer(from what I have read if you plan on storing batteries they should be completely drained first) and use one of them plus my oem battery daily(until they start to lose performance). Again does anyone have any experience with a battery of the sort or any similar third party battery?
they are no where as good as samsung oem battery. even though it says 1500mah it is not or will drop drastically after a month or so of use...i've bought a lot of those batteries from ebay and they always like that even some other well known companies like Seidio do not compare with manufacture's batteries. the difference is usable capacity, oem batteries are around 95% compared to cheap chinese ones that are anywhere from 60-80%.

The ebay battery is has about 60-70% of the power of the OEM battery. I have no real hard evidence just from using it for the past 2 months or so.
I am ok that it is does not last as long as OEM because it was only $10 and it came with the external charger. I love the external charger because it allows me to charge a spare battery while I keep one in my phone.

I bought the same ensemble, with essentially the same results excepting perhaps that one of my replacement batteries seems to underperform with about 40% of OEM battery life.
That said, for $10... they're very handy as backups. They'll easily give you a few more hours in a pinch, which is essentially just what I was looking for. I really have no complaints in that respect.
The best strategy for battery life I've found is to buy a handful of wall adapters and position them in places you spend a lot of time at, and to develop a habit of plugging in when you're not moving around.
Sad but true, but mediocre battery life is just kind of a way of life for these (and really all) high-performance Android devices. Excepting getting an outsized and expensive battery replacement like the Seidio 3500 mAh that all but prevents use with many accessories and cases, a couple wall chargers and a car charger are effective if mildly annoying means of managing it.
These generic Hong Kong replacements are entirely effective as emergency supplements, but you'll find yourself preferring the OEM cell still.
Yep I mean for $20 I have two charges and 4 batteries so if I need to go without power , even if not a 100% match for the oem power, it is still damn cheap.

I must say I am impressed. They are the same quality as my OEM battery. Its so convenient. I never have to run to a charger anymore. Just keep the spare battery in my car or wherever and just pop it in and carry on with my daily business.
When I get home, I just re-charge all the batteries. The Battery Charger even has an LED Light that tells you when its finished. "RED: while charging" and "BLUE: when finished". Charging takes about roughly 3 hours, (just like OEM).
Edit: Been using this for about a month so far. With no problems.. Its the best feeling. My phone is never plugged in anymore. And, I don't have to "pinch the settings" to make my phone last.
IE. lowering brightness to 10%, turning sync off, turning wireless networks off, etc.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
only crappy thing is??? I plan to sell this phone soon, when the Galaxy S 2 comes out, if the specs are good enough.

Would you mind posting the link or giving us the name of the exact vendor you ordered from?... I'm about to order the 2xbatteries and charger combo, but just want to make sure I get batteries that are half way decent. When I search on eBay I get about 20 vendors selling similar combos and given that in HK they're celebrating Chinese New Year... most won't fulfill orders until next week.

I've yet to see one because I doubt anyone (meaning a company) will be able to create one that retains the water-resistant capability of the GS4A. Your best bet may be the Mugen 2750 mAh battery for the GS4 which appears to be the highest capacity that still retains the stock battery size. That's pretty much the best and only option for any "extended" battery runtime.
Oh, and if you see anything on eBay or wherever that claims higher than the Mugen at 2750 mAh run from 'em 'cause they're BS as always.

If Mugen can't get 3700mAh into a standard size GS4/GS4A battery, ain't nobody else going to be able to do it either, that's my position. Mugen makes a 2750mAh as I noted above and that's pretty much the best we're going to get for the GS4A. That so-called 3700mAh model, nah, I don't believe that capacity for a single moment.
If someone wants to take a chance on it, however, more power to you (pun very much intended).
For us GS4A owners, the Anker or Hyperion dual battery (meaning you get 2 of 'em) and charger setup is probably going to be the best for 'extended' battery life most likely. I'm still considering that myself but I've got 3 batteries already (one Samsung official that's a few weeks old and 2 cheap Chinese counterfeit ones without NFC capability).

I tried Zero Lemon 3000 for I9295 (Galaxy Active), but it too sick for this model.
Even when i removed paper from battery it looks like no 100% feet.
You won't retain your water resistance, but I've used the ZeroLemon 7500mah in my S4 Active and wrapped electrical tape around it to keep it in place.
Not the prettiest looking, but the battery life is out of this world.
I bought the S4 Active for the LCD screen anyways, not for the water protection.

I've been looking around for a new phone for about a month now, with one main goal: to get a better battery life than my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (maguro) provides. I would really love to find a phone that I would not have to charge every day, like in the good old days of my Nokia 3210! The screen could be a bit bigger, but thats a secundary goal....
I am finding it very, very hard to make a choice. Of course there are phones out there that can give me more power (and bigger), like the Lenovo K920, the Huawei Ascend Mate7 or the Sony Xperia Z3, but they also cost around 400 euro's. I understand these prices, because these phones also give you a bigger screen, with more pixels, a better camera, more RAM and ROM and a faster processor etc. But actually, at the moment, I don't really need all of that. I am content with the size of my gnex, I use it to browse, whatsapp and occasionally to stream something to my tv. I don't play big games or use a lot of social media. And thanks to FML, I can almost get a stock version of Lollipop on my gnex, which is nice.
Can't I just buy a bigger battery and be done with it for a while, make it last another 6 months? I still have the stock 1750 mAh battery in my gnex it came with, there must be something better available?
I have 3 questions:
1) what is the best battery replacement at the moment that fits inside the original gnex backdoor?
2) what are my options if I am willing to settle for a backdoor that is a bit bigger?
3) are there any smartphones out there that focus solely on battery life? I haven't found them, but there surely must be a market for a smartphone that has a great battery life, and a decent (average) camera, screenquality, processor etc?
To solve my gnex battery issues I simply bought 2 replaceable batteries and a battery charger. At the time this cost me about $12 off ebay. This works best for me as then I never have to actually charge my phone with a micro usb charger (arguably the micro usb port is the weakest and most likely part of a gnex to break) and can just charge the batteries separately; leaving my phone mobile and not stuck to a wall for hours at a time. When I go out I put a spare charged battery in my wallet to swap it out when my battery runs low. It's also great when travelling as places to charge a phone are more limited but having a separate charger means you can use a sneaky power port without leaving your phone.
I haven't looked into getting a larger or 'better' battery personally, however one of my friends bought one that required a fatter backing case (at the time the biggest battery for gnex) and he said that could last him the whole day but meant he couldn't use any of the gnexus cases.
Quick note about gnexus batteries: The NFC chip for a galaxy nexus is built into the battery (don't ask me why), if your buying a cheap battery it will most likely not have NFC unless it's an official samsung gnexus battery from samsung. Not sure how much this effects you, I personally don't use NFC let alone find it important enough to warrant an extra $30 per battery.

thank you for your extensive reaction, but alas: I've retired my great gnex. My micro USB port did cave in, and I could only charge putting the phone in an upright position. I could have used it fine, but I got the chance to get a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 cheap, and it is holding it's own so far: 3 days and 3 hours on one charge and still I have 13% left!
I've been looking for a new battery for my phone, I would prefer one without the need of a new back cover if anyone knows a good battery please tell me.
I have looked at these two batteries on amazon, but there doesn't seem to be much about then else where. Is it worth the buy?

As you found out slim batterys are a scam you want more capacity you have to get a bigger fatter battery its the trade off and you could get a cheap battery but recommend getting one already tested check other threads there are a few

On the other hand, if you buy a "slim battery" (preferably the original LG one), and the one that came with your phone still works, you end up with (almost) double the capacity because you can switch them out when one runs out of charge. This way you don't make your phone twice as ugly and 3 times as thick.
Go with the TrendOn batteries. You get two batteries plus a wall charger at a very reasonable price. I've had them for awhile now and they work as good as the stock battery, if not better. I get the same expected life and they appear to run cooler as well.

Just some helpful advice from a recovered extended battery case addict. In the early days when phones didn't have quick charge and we're about 25-50% smaller, I always bought my phones based on the support of manufacturers making extended battery cases for it. As the phone market matured, batteries became bigger and locked in, I noticed that my power consumption was less likely to hit the max of the stock battery. The weights of the phones increased as well and I noticed a chronic pain on my pinky. This combined with the fact that the extended battery cases didn't have quick charge, rapid charge, super charge, it whatever "special" charge came with the phone, as well as a key missing feature of charge passthrough, caused me to drop the extended battery madness. I expect you to come to this conclusion on your own, because like me, you won't be convinced of extended battery cases being a bad joke until you see it for yourself. Make sure there is a good return policy.

Appreciate the reply. As far as quick charge goes that will damage the battery in the case the same way it can damage the battery in the phone. This is why I have a slow charger to charge my phone healthily instead of risking permanently frying the phone's battery which will shorten its life. I'm no fan of quick charge.
Regarding pass-through the seller confirms that the power case is equipped with heat, overpower and temp protections. What do you think?
Just to be sure the power case doesnt degrade the phone battery do you think its best to charge the phone case and phone separately and not connected together?

I would never spend money on anything like that since I can get 2 days on a single charge on my 20X. All the new phones now use LiPo batteries (the same cell type used in Tesla cars) and have no problems with quick charging and don't exhibit memory as it's predecessor battery types used to have.

Anyway I get 3 days from my 20X. The problem is when I have 30% left it starts to drain like crazy. Thats the reason for wanting the battery case.
Did you get the battery case in the end? They are available very cheaply now from Aliexpress. I don't really have a problem with battery life but am thinking it might be a nice gadget to have
