Can't add Exchange account to Gmail even with Lollipop - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I assumed that with the Lollipop update, I would be able to add my exchange account to GMail as I did on my Nexus 5.
Is it normal that this option is not available?
Thanks

I assumed that was the problem because I can't find "Google Exchange Services" in my apps section but I can't find it in the playstore either. Should I bee looking somewhere else?

Try updating the app to the most recent version.
Hit the three bars in the top right.
Hit the down arrow on your account.
Hit Add account.
Try selecting personal.
The personal option allowed me to add yahoo to gmail without any additional setup. I'm assuming it'll work the same with an exchange account because it does all the server adjustments and whatnot.
If you already tried this, I'm sorry I couldn't help any more!

Can't add/setup Android Facebook app under Acc. and Sync?

Anyone else having this problem?
I've been able to add the 'Facebook for HTC Sense' but when I go to 'Add account', the Android Facebook app shows up but selecting doesn't do anything?
I have the same problem. Go to add a account, but selecting it does nothing. It's therefore not updating my contact pictures from Facebook anymore.....
Anyone help?
Duplicate Post.
Did you install the update for the Android version from the market by any chance?

Yes why?
The same problem for me. What is it supposed to do? "Facebook for HTC Sense" works well and there is a separate Facebook App. I don't recall seeing it in this list before I upgraded.

I had the problem with and without updates installed. I'm not getting any notifications for Facebook.

Yes, and it does sync, but the linked FB pictures stay the same.
I can't remember about any updates.....
Do you have the Contact "linked" with their Facebook account?

Yup... It did sync originally, but the same picture remains even if their FB prof pic has changed since...
The only thing I can think that I've done is removed the FB (non sense) from the accounts and sync list. Trying to add it back in doesn't work. Facebook highlights, but no options appear.....
Arse.
just do it in the app itself. when i tap it in mine after a hard reset, it opens the app.

It works for me. I've never opened Facebook in the Sync Settings, just the HTC one. You could try unlinking it all and re-linking it.
I've tried unlinking and relinking but it still doesn't change the picture. It updates the status and events within the contact, but its almost like there is a block on updating the photo....
Not a massive deal, but its just irritating me now!
Have you tried unlinking and re-linking a particular contact? If it works, do the rest. A right pain in the neck but worth it, if it works.

Yes, I've tried it on a couple of different contacts that have the FB link and have updated their photo since first sync, but no joy....
I've noticed some friends photos aren't updating, some others are though. One is stuck on their profile photo he used in March (now different) but another changed the other day.
Their Status Updates are updating though. Weird!

[Q] How do I disable mail not gmail app?

I apologize in advance for posting a question that has probably most likely been answered. I watched the video, I don't hate myself and I don't mean to annoy you. So, can a HTC incredible guru please tell me: 1) why I have two email apps that are one account? There is a blue mail icon and a red gmail icon that are both connected to my gmail account. I get double notifications all the time. 2) How do i disable the htc email? This app is in general less convenient and I don't see the need for having two. Please help! Thank you much!
If you want to remove the app use titanium backup if your rooted. Or you can go to your settings ---->accounts/sync and stop the sync on the mail app.

Not familiar with the blue app. What happens when you try to uninstall it?
Is there not a "settings" menu in the blue app that will allow you to delete its tie to your Gmail account?
If all else fails, you can at least go to Menu>Manage Apps (or Menu>System Settings>Applications), pick the blue mail app, and turn off "Show Notifications"....

ok. I have to figure out how to use the titanium backup and being rooted. I'm sure it's on the forum somewhere.
I had checked under Settings before I asked this question, and there is no blue email icon there. Just the red Gmail and I didn't want to stop that sync. Also, I moved the blue icon to the "trash" but I still get notifications that I have mail. Then, somehow my facebook won't sync. it's "currently experiencing problems and will return shortly." It's said that since the 26th. Ugh! Maybe I should call their help desk.

IT WORKED! Thanks!! I went to the settings option in the blue app. I don't know why that didn't register for me before. I was able to delete it and keep my Gmail account.
** Could you help me figure out why my facebook won't update but my Twitter will - under "Friend Stream"?
Glad I could help with the email issue.
Unfortunately, this old dinosaur can't provide guidance on your social media troubles. I'm still a primarily-email kinda guy...you young whippersnappers with your Facespaces and Mybooks and Tweeters just confuse me, consarn it! And get off my lawn!!

[Q] Mail Settings - Next or Previous?

Hey everyone. Maybe I am missing a setting here, maybe not.
On my older Android devices one feature Ive enjoyed was the ability that when deleting an email in the stock mail app, I could choose to go to the next or previous email and not always back to the email list. Is there no way to do this on this device?

In the GMail app under General Settings, there is a "Auto-advance" option. Selections are Advance to "Newer", "Older", or "Conversation List" I think if you select "Newer" it will go to the next newer email. I haven't tested yet.
Im talking about the regular mail app, not gmail. I use it to connect to exchange accounts for work.

[Q] User name in quick settings

Stupid question, but is there a way to change which account name is being displayed at the upper left-hand corner of the quick settings? It used to say my name from my Google account, but after I logged into Twitter and authroized HTC Sense to access my Twitter account, it's been using my Twitter name.
I've de-authorized my Twitter account from HTC, logged out of Twitter, and also de-installed it to get it to change back, but no dice. Any ideas?
Maybe log into Google+? That worked for me on Vanir. Awesome rom btw.

Google contact sync is already baked in the rom. You probably need to do it all over again since the framework and sync adaptor probably got messed up.
If you have the china version,
factory reset the phone,
go into app gallery,
change country to China,
Search for Google Play Store
Google Play store will have an Update status, click it
After updated, click open and the usual setup will start
After that, you should have contact already synced.
Worked thanks this phone rocks now!!!
Glad that it worked!
So is it the Cina version? if yes, are you facing any problems because of that?

No need to factory reset. All I did was install the Google Contact Sync v 9 from apkmirror then reisntalled the Contacts app... and voila!... it had the option to choose an account from the hamburger menu.

I did this and it worked perfectly without resetting anything!
Found an easy solution at 4pda to enable contact sync on Chinese Mate20x, without resetting your phone:
1) uninstall Play Store
2) download Play Store from apkmirror
3) install
4) sync will work right away
Hope this helps someone
