[Q] How to change boot animation? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running Cyanogenmod on my LG G3 D855. I know I can copy my custom bootanimation.zip to /system/media to change the boot animation, but that gets overwritten each time I upgrade with Cyandelta. I tried putting the zip into /data/local, but it doesn't change the boot animation. How can I change it so that it will survive OS upgrades?

Click to collapse
The only way that I know for a fact stays under these situations is to use a boot animation that is fully supported in Cyanogenmod's Themes. Download the Theme Showcase to view ones that are confirmed to work with it. After you download it you set it with the Themes app in your tray. These will stay even after updating. Some are free and some are paid.

HTC Merge/Custom Boot

Ok i havent seen anything about custom boot animations for the HTC Merge, but i found the stock animation and sound files for UsCellulars HTC Merge and was wondering if by using the ADB push method if i could overwrite the original boot animation.
I have already tried putting a custom boot animation into the data/local directory but that did not take.
The directory of the stock animation is:
/system/customize/resources/usc_bootanimation.zip
Can anyone help me figure this out i am temp rooted?
It doesn't matter if you are temp-rooted or not. Without S-OFF you can't write to the NAND which is what you would need to do to change your boot animation. I'm have a Merge as well. I can't wait until root is achieved. Hopefully there will be a solution soon!
Well this just sucks
I now have s-off, seems any app that is able to change boot animations doesn't work.

Rooted lg vortex froyo 2.2 wont boot stuck at lg logo cant recovery reboot

ROOTED LG VORTEX WONT BOOT after changing options in root toolbox app
I am a noob at this whole rooting, flashing mods, etc. But when i got my first smartphone the LG VORTEX in the begining of May, 2011 and started downloading apps i noticed a lot of ROOT apps. Ever since then and finding out what root was..I just couldn't keep my hands off anything "ROOT" ever since.
Anyways my problem is:
I downloaded the app Root Toolbox. My phone is ROOTED, although i have been to chicken to actually flash a custom ROM. Obviously I should have. because after changing almost every option i could in the app Root Toolbox, i chose to reboot after changing the options. Well i chose just "reboot" and now my LG Vortex will not boot up. It stays stuck at the black screen that says LG in the middle.
PLEASE HELP I THINK I NEED TO FLASH A CUSTOM ROM. BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT UNLESS I CAN ACTUALLY GET INTO MY PHONE!!

I will pay for changing boo logos on my tablet.

Hi,
I would like to pay someone that could help me doing the following:
I have a Vido N90IPS tablet:
http://www.anybuying.com/media/cata...525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/v/i/vido-n90-ips-1.jpg
I downloaded the following custom ROM which works great on the tablet:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...ao-n90-ips-tablet-root-android-4-2-2-custom-f
What I want to achieve is that the tablet boots with my own logo. From powering on the tab until it hits the start screen. I think there are three places where it requires the change of the logo. I also need an animated logo in the right place and need information on what format is needed for the animated logo which I can provide.
I want later on to be able to flash this either through RKAndroidTool or CWM, which one is possible.
Please send a PM.
u can edit
boot.img in it u might find ####.RLE
this is boot logo
in system/bin or system/media u might find bootanimation or bootanimation.zip
the base of all is PNG though

Change Splash Screen (Boot Logo, not Boot Animation)

So I recently unlocked my bootloader and have been having tons of fun installing custom ROMs, recoveries, and doing other fun stuff. Currently, I have a dual-boot situation with hsbadr's CM13 port and Dr. Ketan's ROM. I've changed the boot animation on CM to the default Marshmallow animation, and I'm enjoying it immensely.
The only problem I have with my phone at the moment is the splash screen: the image that shows up before the boot animation, saying something like "GALAXY NOTE 4 -- powered by Android." It's also got the "Custom" overlay on it. I absolutely hate this screen. It's ugly and I kind of want something of my own in its place.
I've researched on how to change the splash screen, learning that it's called the splash screen and not a bootlogo, but I can't seem to find any guides that work for me. There are some very old guides, with non-existent files, and there's a new guide for the Note 4 here, but it doesn't work. The 0p8 file isn't a tarball, and the 0p12 file recommended later in the thread is empty when extracted.
Is there a way to change that screen on the 910V? If so, how? I can't seem to find anything, but it's probably right in front of my face.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

Framework-res.apk

Could someone upload the m5's framework-res.apk on lollipop 5.1 please
I renamed mine and forgot to change it back then rebooted and now my phone is stuck on the boot animation and I can't get adb to work so I was thinking that I could flash it in
Don't worry all good now
