Problems changing from Edge to 3G

Hi all
my wife and i both have Note 2's ..
mine rooted, hers not
we are both having issues that edge connections to to be the norm for data even when 3g is available..
i'm having to force 3g by setting network to wcdma only when i know there should be 3g
sometimes (after a while) it does go to 3g if left alone, but very rarely
network is Thailand AIS one2call. using the same sim card i had in my old S3 that had no issues

LTE sim card

So my work phone is a full unrestricted plan. Yes I know att doesn't theoretically have unlimited data. But my question is would that sim give me LTE connectivity in my tablet. Or is there a special tablet package that needs to be enabled on the sim that costs more?
TLDR; Can i use my att LTE sim that i use for my cell phone in my Nexus 7 tablet?

Here is how it works in Germany (and I assume that is how it works everywhere).
You have a SIM Card which is on a GPRS Plan (normal data connection) and if you buy a special option for LTE you account will be upgraded and the SIM-Card which was running on GPRS is now able to connect to an LTE Network.
So in essence, you need an special LTE Plan, which cost more money. AND you need to be in an area where LTE is available, otherwise you pay more but the data speed is as slow as without LTE.
And DO NOT BELIEVE that you are getting 100 or more MBit/s, that is the maximum speed for that LTE Channel in the optimum distance.
If there is another LTE User with you on that channel, the speed drops. Last seen here in Munich at the Octoberfest where 30 or more people tried to connect to one particular LTE Access-Point and the system slowed down to a crawl.
On the other hand, if you have an LTE enabled phone/pad, you are getting normally a better speed performance out of an GPRS connection.
And yes I can be wrong because I am human, laugh. But based on my experience I am not.

[Q] Samsung s4 mini i9195T help please 3G 4G LTE

Good am guys, I'm from the philippines and I have a samsung galaxy s4 mini i9195t 4g LTE came from australia with vodafone sim last year. I'm using our local simcard. Can't access free data, 3g and 4g LTE. Upon researching i saw that I can only access 2g network which is the reason I'm here
Can anyone. Is there any way that I can access 3G and 4G LTE signal? I never root this phone nor unlock and the system was never been touch. When I got it I just insert my local sim.
Please help me guys I've been searching for the right forum for the solution of this problem.
Did you search at phone's settings for 4G or 3G? Maybe it's switched to 2G.Your SIM card is 4G?
Yes I tried to switch it to LTE/WCDMA/. WCDMA/GSM. WCDMA. It doesn't receive any signal at all. Even though im near from the 3g or LTE network. I can't even use surf promo when I registered to a surf promo here it always eat my balance. And i am not receiving 3g or 4g. It's just letter E always.

Using this phone on AT&T, can't get 3g data

I cancelled service with verizon, and put my att sim card into this phone.
But the best data connect I can get is edge (2g). I don't expect this phone to get ATT's lte network, but is there a way to get 3g data connection? Edge is just too slow.
Also, is voice quality tied with network type? I feel the voice quality was worse in comparison to my ATT phone. But the signal shows full bars.
Thanks.
Edit: today it magically worked. I don't know what happened, as I didn't do anything to it. It is now running on HSPA+, with very nice speed.

Yes, after setting it up I was able to connect to EDGE. But that is only 2g speed. I read online that many people were able to connect to 3g (HSPA+).
Some of them mentioned reporting IMEI to ATT. Would this matter?

Try to call ATT and make sure they provision your SIM card with 4G LTE service. (you might need an IMEI that is compatible with ATT LTE for them to activate that option)
sorry wrong post

poor sim 2 signal

sim 1 signal quality is normal but sim 2 signal quality very poor and no bar in many times but when i check same network with old mobile in the same area it was 3 bar although my asus zenfone mobile signal has no bar. sorry for my bad English
....
Sim 2 is only on 2G, is 2G still available in your area? You may also be hitting a 2G far away as the tower near you no longer supports 2G

i'm at home and when i see my dad old mobile with same network that i have at my room signal is very good (3bar) but my mobile has no bar why ?? my dad has old Samsung mobile (2g only like sim2 of my mobile) not android mobile like me
That I can't explain. You may have a problem with your sim 2 modem, hardware issue.
i also have a problem with my both sims.neither the 3g nor the 2g network is good i checked the sim in other phones and they are fine seems to be my Mobile's problem.i also sent my phone to repair and got some improvement in signal strength but still it seems a little problem with it.
please help me guys what to do now??
