After upgrading to Lollipop, there are 5 icons at the bottom of the lock screen but I can't find where the preference is to change them.

Settings->Lock Screen -> Shortcuts
Right, maybe they have disappeared after Lollipop? Here's my screen...

in "Select screen lock" select Swipe.
then look again shortcuts menu below.

Similar problem, but with encrypted phone
I am having a similar issue, but my problem is that my phone is encrypted. I am able to use the smart lock feature to access the swipe to unlock screen with the icons at the bottom, but I can't customize the icons because the menu is not available while the device is encrypted. Is there another way to change this screen? I know I have been unable to find one.
I've also tried decrypting the device temporarily to change the lock screen, but the device refuses to decrypt. It sits for hours at the LG menu after restarting to decrypt, and I finally have to pull the battery to restart. After I do so, the phone operates as if it was never given instructions to decrypt. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to change lock screen styles based on location? (Maybe through something like Tasker?)
My 1 year old daughter has learned how to unlock my phone with the swipe lock screen, so I have changed it to facial recognition, which has adequately secured it from her.
However, when I'm not at home, I would prefer the ease of the swipe unlock.
Is this possible?

I couldn't find definitely that it will allow you to change unlock method based on location (everything else is listed and it's hinted at several places) but you might give SmartShift Lockscreen a try. You can find it here on Google Play.

Thanks for checking. That appears to be a lock screen replacement.
Ideally, I'd like to use the stock lock screen and just update the settings.

In that case I would check out Secure Settings App which is available through Google and has a thread here at XDA.

Couldn't figure out the facial recognition. However, I figured out how to toggle between requiring a pin and not, which should suffice for keeping my phone protected from a toddler accessing it.

Hi everyone I've tried all alternative lockscreen apps on the market but they all share the same annoying bug : if I unlock sliding on a shortcut e. g. whatsapp. once I press back to quit the app and (logically) going to my home screen, it goes back to the app that locks my phone and locks it again. this is not really functional. all I was looking for was a way to have different wallpapers for both home screen and lockscreen. tired of having the same one for both. suggestions?

It's not a bug, it's programmed that way.

Is it possible to get access to the drop down notification bar while locked with patern? Is their any method ? I'm using this music app 'playtube' and it would be nice to get quick access to the remote without losing my lock method thx

Hi, I also wanted to have this functionality so I did some research and testing.
I found out that Smart App Lock (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free) allows you to do this when you select the "Home Screen Lock" option.
BTW, you can select any type of lock method (pattern, password, etc.) and it even allows you to define different locks for the home screen and apps.

Hello all,
I have the AT&T Note 4 and when I first set the phone up, I was able to select a lockscreen effect. However, I can't seem to find where that setting is located, and I'm looking to change the effect. Is there any way of doing this short of wiping and restarting?

It would seem that you do not get an unlock effect while using fingerprint unlock. As you are not swiping the screen

Huh, you're right! If the phone was unlocked, then I got the effect, but when it was prompting for the fingerprint, then I didn't get the effect. Temporarily switching to "Swipe" exposed the option to change the effect.
