Exchange Active Sync -- Failed to create the account. Please try again later.

Hi, today I turned on my phone and found that my exchange showed only a single solitary unread email. No matter how much I refreshed it refused to download the rest of the mails.
So I deleted that account and tried to re-set up a google exchange active sync with m.google.com. However, each time I click next after entering my details, username and password, it gives the "Failed to create the account. Please try again later." message.
Any ideas?
The universal fix for the "Failed to create the account please try again later" while adding exchange server on android roms is
1) Add your account in Settings -> Accounts & Sync
2) In the second last step, uncheck all three options (mail, contacts, calendar)
3) Finish the configuration and your account should get created (here is where it would usually fail if you have not unchecked the options)
4) Click on the created account and check back the three options (mail, contacts, calendar)
Hope this help you - I discovered this by chance and it works all the time.

[Q] Active Sync Problems TP2

I am using Active Sync to push my gmail account to my TP2. Everything works fine on my older ROM and then I upgrade ROM to SEA 2.07.707.1
Later, I cannot connect to gmail server again, it keep asking for user and password eventhough I have check "save password". so i cannot sync to gmail.
Can anyone help me please....?
Is it a bug ROM or anything else?
Has it ever connected to Google Sync on the new ROM?
If no, I've noticed that the User Name format given in the Google Sync instructions doesnt' seem to work: [email protected]
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138636&topic=14299
But this format works: [email protected]
If you haven't already tried, try this format.
Also, sometimes ActiveSync will just stop being able to sync. But this error doesn't ask me to re-input my Google login, it just fails to sync. When this happens, I just uncheck all the boxes in ActiveSync (mail, contacts, calendar) and click Finish. Let ActiveSync do its thing (it will delete all your contacts, mail appointment, which is a bit scary). Then go back into the ActiveSync settings, recheck the boxes and soft reset.
This sounds like a different problem. But if you're stuck without a solution, maybe its worth a try. But you may lose all your contacts and other info from your phone, so its your choice . . .
@redpoint73 Thanks for reply...
I have try your suggestion... still not working... it keeps asking for user and password.
First try....
User : [email protected]
Domain :
also...
User : user
Domain : gmail.com
I try to check and uncheck sync option... nothing's change...

http://www.thesearethedroids.com/20...mail-mail-calendar-and-contacts-with-android/

HTC 2.3 ActiveSync

So have upgraded using HTC 2.3 RUU but the HTC email app with activesync doesn't like connecting to exchange. Apparently its to with ssl stuff.
Does anyone have a solution ?
Cheers
Not so sure about a solution, but i've upgraded through the 2.3.3 RUU and my Exchange ActiveSync is working fine.
Have you checked your mail server address / domain etc?
Pretty sure my settings are correct, worked perfectly in 2.2. just tried exchange touchdown app and this fails also with the following details.
Checking Certificate...Checking ActiveSync with SSL...
SSL handshake aborted: ssl=0x34fca8: Failure in SSL library, usually a protocol error
error:14095044:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_N:internal error (external/openssl/ssl/s3_pkt.c:213 0xad12756f:0x00000000):Exception performing request
ActiveSync version check returned negative, but still trying for 12.1
Looks like it is an issue with GB, however its only sometimes a problem due to the way the exchange certificates are configured / setup.
Problem now fixed
Registering a new root certificate on exchange server, the old one was 1024 bit, new one is 2048. All working perfectly.
