[Q] Bumper Cases? - ONE Accessories

Hey, I'm looking for a bumper case for my One. (I really want to be able to feel the back of my phone - it's so nice.
The ones I've seen have some reviews of scratching the back plate. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with any that were solid?

Take a look on amazon, a majority of the cool stuff I purchased for my One has been from there.

You could use Sugru (google it).

I've heard that the Aluminum ones are supposed to be pretty good and can protect your sides from impact, however apparently they scratch the metal frame surrounding the OPO.

Plastic Case Review

So I just got another new case.
I got it from eBay seller augustonline for $3.89 w/ free shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Rubber-Ha...000-GALAXY-S-/150475142893?pt=PDA_Accessories
This is similar to the mesh snap-on case that others have posted about. It's a single piece that snaps on to the back of the phone. The material is hard plastic but it has a bit of a rubberized feel which provides just a little grip.
The fit is perfect. And, unlike the mesh case, it does not have the awkward cutout for the TV antenna that the Korean cases have.
As others have pointed out with this type of case, it does not provide full protection for all sides. I was also concerned about this, but found that it wraps around the edges just enough to protect the face of the phone. So, if you place it face-down the phone doesn't touch. Also, the corners are protected but the top and bottom are exposed.
It's a solid color with no branding so if you really like the Galaxy S logo, you won't be able to see it with this case.
All in all, this is a nice case and if you like this type of case, I would definitely recommend it. It fits well, has a nice clean look to it, and is less than $5. I think this will be my daily driver for a while (or until some positive reviews of the SGP Slider case start coming in).
Sweet as I was wondering whether the fit would be good or not, so thats good news
Can't wait for my orange one to get here!
Cool good to know it fits perfectly i ordered a green one of these almost two weeks ago i should be receiving it any day now
The case isn't bad for $4 (or the $8 I paid from a US seller), but don't expect it to hold up for very long. The rubberized texture is wearing off after less than a week.

I was just thinking about updating this post when I saw your reply. I noticed this morning that the rubberized coating is coming off on the corners of the case. It's not very noticeable at the moment, but I imagine it will start to peel off everywhere in the not so distant future.
For me the case is temporary until SGP gets their stuff together, but I don't think I would recommend this case to anyone that is looking for long-term protection.
that looks pretty gnarly. I have the snap on two piece case from T-Mobile. With the chrome bezel and rubbery back. Once I get bored of it I'll have to try that one.

Love this case so far. Especially with my custom logo! =D
There is no player on the warriors with the number 89. That's just the number I like personally.
I don't think this can be compared to mesh case. The quality of the korean mesh case is awesome. That is why it is like 20 bucks.

Replacement Back Covers?

I've tried browsing a few pages in, and either I'm stupid and just missed it (very possible ), or there hasn't been a thread about just back covers themselves.
I'm curious to know if there are any replacement back covers for the phone that aren't just plastic. I was hoping to see if there was a more rubbery back cover I can slap on, or (and this may be out there) a brushed aluminum-type of back cover, like the ones found on the HD2 and Nexus One. Personally a black brushed aluminum back cover would be so nice...
I ask because I've tried the gel case from Tmobile and saw one of my coworkers' hard case protector, and I didn't like either of them. I ultimately want to avoid a case alltogether and just find a nice back cover that has a better feel to it, and possibly add just a tad bit more weight to the phone so it feels better while holding it. The cheap plastic back cover just isn't doing it for me.
Thanks, and apologies in advance if I blatantly missed this being discussed elsewhere.
I'm sure soon enough these back covers will pop up like mushroom on ebay, but nothing on the horizon at the moment.
There's a DIY thread for painting the extra back cover with rubber coat that looks pretty decent.

Lots of folks here have the mesh case that IMO the best looking with just the right thickness for the Galaxy S.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730699
I just got something similar to the mesh cover.
http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752079
While it's not really a back cover, it's got a bit of a rubbery feel and very low profile compared to gel cases and "full" plastic covers.

Chrome Bezel-covering cases?

i know the TPU case with the plastic back covers it and the plastic hard snap-on cases cover it
from what i've seen these are the only cases that wrap around enough to completely cover the bezel, but maybe you guys would know of other that do, preferable tpu. i switch out batteries all the time so the snap on cases arent the best since they are tough to remove.
thanks
TPU?
You didn't really ask a question...
semantics...... im looking for a case that covers the chrome-bezel, for those who didnt understand the topic
anywho...tpu is that high grade plastic that feels rubbery, like the argyle cases daydeal sells
Otterbox commuter case does. Best case i have bought for a phone, feels great in the hand and looks very good. Wont ever go without it
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
How much bigger does the Otterbox case make the phone? The other Otterboxes I've seen (for other devices) were a significant addition to the thickness.
Otterboxes and cyclops cases make the phone feel FAT. REALLY fat....it completely kills a device that was designed to be thin. Personally, I'd recoomend you this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772826
Covers the bezel, does not make the phone look fat. Looks great from the back also. Rubbery only on the sides. Don't get the new edition as it's a poor fit, get the old edition which doesn't have cutouts for the buttons. Then, if you have problems with the power button, put a little piece of paper on it and it will feel great to press.
Also, the case makes the phone nearly indestructable. I've dropped it 7ft on concrete. Case got a concrete scratch....phone was perfect.
Thanks for the suggestion! I was considering either that one or the one mentioned in the second post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098214
I just don't want anything that's too big and fat (don't need my phone to look like me. LOL)
That one from the post is nice except it doesn't cover the bezel on the top and bottom. That's pretty major for me, otherwise it's a great case. Similar to the mesh ones. The one I linked you covers everything and is thin.
i had that one, but the glue started coming off where the plastic is attached to the rubber. i would like one thats all rubber because the plastic back is slippery, there doesn't seem to be any other option though to cover that bezel
superglue. I did it to mine and hasn't moved since.

I can't decide... (yep another case thread)

I wanted a as slim as possible case and I wanted it to protect all the way around the perimeter of the phone. Here are the choices (in order from first to last), help me decide.
Rearth Ringke Slim - At $28 it's a bit expensive and it doesn't cover the sides. Also looks to be less grippy since it's hard smooth plastic.
BoxWave Blackout - I'm worried it's thicker than a case like the Rearth, but with that said it protects all around and is really cheap at $12. I think the material is more rubber like which sounds more appealing to a gloss hard case. Not many reviews anywhere for this case.
elago G4elago G4 - I'm not sure about this case in general.
Thanks for your input.
Personally I like the Leather style flip cases, The one that doubles up as a wallet.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-WAL..._MobilePhonesCasesPouches&hash=item3374db7913
I would never pay more than £10 (delivered) for a case.
in terms of slimness i've basically narrowed it down to two giants.
1. sgp ultra thin
2. casemate barely there.
not sure which ones better but from what i can tell they're pretty much the same, both at a hefty 25 bucks.
anyways, i'm in the same boat as you. XD
not sure which case to get.

I have the rearth and it is very slim, the only down side it is a beeeoootch to take off (i have a dock/charger for the phone) and if you take it on and off a lot it cracks and the part closet to the usb port cover, nothing earth shattering it actually makes it much easier to take the case off - that and the sgp ultra clear and it is almost like having nothing on the phone at all.
I have used diztronic cases for the last year (for my SII and now my N7000). They are very similar to the boxweave case you posted.
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Fle...0386413&sr=8-3&keywords=diztronic+galaxy+note
As you know TPU protects like a silicon case but doesn't stick in your pocket or collect lint and dust due to it not being "sticky" feeling. I recently sold my SII for over $300 after 8 months of daily use because my SII was in perfect condition as a result of being in a diztronic tpu case. No, I never dropped the phone on cement or anything but I dropped my SII on the carpet from 5+ feet and the phone was unchanged when I picked it up. Didn't pop out of case or battery, etc. Because the tpu cases have a 1/8 or so "lip" on the front they also allow the phone to be placed face down on flat surfaces. IMHO and experience, a good tpu case is all you need to fully protect your phone unless you work in construction or somehow expect to drop it on cement.
So, my vote goes to the boxweave or diztronic cases. BTW I got 2 diztronics for $14 from amazon, the black matte and smoke matte. Great deal!
^I'm actually thinking of getting a real cheap TPU case like that I can mod. My ideal case is a TPU Bumper, maybe the Boxwave Black out without the back part but have the vol and power buttons cut out. I guess it's just not feasible so far... ?
Anyway, Thanks for the input so far guys, keep it coming.
bumper TPU from Amazon

first post here,
I have one of these.
search amazon for bumper cases.
I'm not allowed to post urls.
I like it, I have it on right now. What I have is different from what's
in the pictures. No cutouts for the buttons and the other cutouts are not
as big. The covers of the buttons are pretty sensitive, unlike the covers
for the Boxwave type which I got from Hongkong for 2 bucks.
Check amazon out, they have a lot of cases.
I also have the elago Breathe case, I love them I have two.
I ended up taking my chances on this. I guess it's going to be as close as I get. Thanks everyone, I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

I have the 3 of them
Go for the Rearth Ringke Slim , is THE BEST OF ALL !!!
Hi all, I'm in a similar dilemma.
I've got a choice between these two:
https://www.gearzap.com/media/catalog/product/3/4/34484-2.jpg
and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYBRID-SI...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item416682f7b6
I know I should pick the Zenus, but would the inside bit that holds my phone scratch the outer bezel? And since the hybrid one has a silicon case THEN a hard outer shell I figured it would be good too. Any ideas?
Thanks!
I use a an SGP Ultra thin. Comfortable case. Considering the size of the phone the case is great. Merges with the Phone. +1 anytime.
I ordered this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160732471512?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649. It has a stand that works in both axis.
good
Nice

Rubberized, Titanium, or Plastic Fishbone Case?

I was wondering, is rubberized, titanium, or plastic better for the fishbone case?
I was wondering if you guys have any experience with the rubberized/titanium one as all the threads only talk about the one with the hard plastic.
Also, does the hard plastic on the back of the original fishbone scratch easily? Was thinking of either getting black or white version.
http://www.amazon.com/Rubberized-Protector-Faceplate-T989-II/dp/B006D8V0DO/ref=sr_1_7?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1354235799&sr=1-7&keywords=fishbone+t989
This is the site for the rubberized one.
Any opinions on fishbone cases in general would be greatly appreciated too!
Thanks!
I have this case and personally I'm not a big fan. The rubber portion of the case doesn't fit tight on the phone and can move around. I like TPU cases because they're typically pretty slim/light, cheap, fit snug, and they provide good protection against drops. I've used this one on several phones and haven't been disappointed. You can get them for ~$3 on ebay.

I've use the rubberized one for awhile now. After pulling it out of my pocket enough time the case became loose and doesn't work well anymore. I just ordered a fishbone case in hopes that the metal will hold the rubber together better. I'll let you know how it works when I get it.

Was thinking about getting this earlier but then i felt someone else's and didn't like how it felt. Now I'm thinking of getting the diztronic case or maybe a ballistic case. Leaning towards the diztronic though.

Well I got my fishbone case. Come to find out the fishbone is plastic. Other than that I am much happier with this product. The rubber seems to be of better quality and the plastic allows it to slide in and out of my pocket without stretching the rubber.
