Hi Guys
Im new to installing custom Roms on the G3 as I have been using Samsungs for a while.
I have Lolipop 5.0 on my device at the moment but I understand I have to revert to stock rom in order to root my device,.
I need to know what method I need to use for Rooting, what recovery to use and how to successfully install the custom rom.
Any help would be appreciated,
Chris

Ok so heres the firmware i recommend. Since you are located in the Middle East you can flash the firmware from UAE
KitKat KDZ: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW390906432109876543213/D85510l_00.kdz
Follow the KDZ Downgrade Guide on this page in accordance with the firmware that i provided you above
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Once youve downgraded to KitKat and the phone fully boots
Root with PurpleDrake: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
Install SuperSU from Play Store
Install Flashify from Play Store
Download, Extract and flash TWRP 2.8.5.1 img using Flashify: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=22380
Sorry but you gonna have to find the Android HD links yourself

T2 Ultra D5303 & D5316 & D5322 4.4.3 Pre-rooted stock firmware

Hi all
Here i got pre-rooted stock firmware to get our D5303 and D5316 4.4.3 get root
but the D5316 has'nt been tested yet coz i don't own the device..
please feedback if you have any problem and if you are happy..

D5322: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-838sA5iRQxeVJJbFpNOFpJeVk/view?usp=sharing
REQUIREMENT:
rooted stock rom
recovery
How to:
first, your device must be on 4.4.2 or below to be able to root
second, root your device using tool in cross development section...try each one of them
thirdly, after the device rooted, install a recovery
then download the pre rooted firmware for your model and put them in sd card, and flash it trhough recovery..
remember to do a backup first
something that i can't figure out is we can't modify the system app, but if you want to have a sound mod, you can replace the mixer_paths.xml..
and maybe someone can help with that problem, but at last an app that requires root like greenify and xposed instaler will work...
thanks to @zxz0O0 for the tool to create this pre-rooted firmware and @[NUT] for his recovery to flash this flashable zip
Note:-to resolve the problem because of sony RIC, download SonyRICdefeat from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-sony-ric-killer-t2953141 and just extract and run the install.bat file...
-backup your system before flashing to keep your data safe
This is great sir but I think It would be better even easier for noob like me if you will provide us tutorial or maybe link of how to downgrade and root 4.4.2(confirmed to work) before going to 4.4.3..thanks in advance

You just need to use flashtool to downgrade, and root with roottoolkit from the cross development section and then isntalling a recovery
is it really difficult just to hit the thanks button, hmm?

It might mean that flashing failed.
In my experience, installation of prerooted image for D5316 from CWM recovery does not go well. It aborts after "Verifying update package".
Something is missing.

For those on the D5316 variant does it show 4.4.2? What about the other variants? I thought this was a 4.4.3 based ROM? Just asking, not really a big deal!

Running the good ol' KitKat 4.4.2 Need guidance to update

Hi I just bought a LG D855,
It's currently running the old KitKat right outta he box. Build Number: KVT49L, Software Version: V10n-GLOBAL-COM
The phone is missing the Update Center and thus I don't get any OTAs, I've decided to flash a custom MM for the phone. However while I try to flash TWRP via Flashify, it reboots into Fastboot and I see no sign of TWRP. Is there a specific TWRP I have to flash for KitKat?
Also, should I first update to LL and then to MM? I'd like to use any custom MM rom close to stock there is.
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Kind sirs, pray link me to the ROM that's closest to stock for any suggestions you may have personally. :highfive:
Thank you so much in advance.:victory:

Help with device?

Got the lg g3 andriod version 6.0, software version d85230h, looking to root, know you cant do it marshmellow. Anyone know how to do it?. I tryed to downgrade but i cant go into download mode.
I personally downgraded to Lollipop using LGUP and a KDZ file. Then used the One Click Root (Newest Root Method in General section) and installed AutoRec to get an old TWRP version, then updated TWRP with a bumped 3.0.3.0. All good to go!
do you have a link to a tutorial on how to do that?

No I just searched through the G3 forums here and read other people's posts.
1. Get LGUP and your KDZ, then downgrade.
2. Find a thread called 'Newest Root Method' in the General section and follow that thread - it's easy to do.
3. Dig up the AutoRec tool for you variant and install TWRP - Then upgrade TWRP, there is a thread with TWRP 3.0.3.0 in the G3 Android Development section.
Good luck.

Good luck.

Well yes auto rec works with every version of android till marshmallow.
Download that rar, unrar it flash TWRP with Autorec(app included in rar) in some words, follow that guide.
But if autorec doesn't work go over here and you will find and a kitkat version.

You have Root, go to Settings→About phone→click a lot of times Build number, till it shows "You have enabled development settings".Then go back at the nain screen of settings and you will see this "Developer opinions",click that and scroll down. You will see "Root Access" click on that and enable it.
Greetings.
