[Q] UK OTA for 5.0? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI all,
I'm an LG noob and just got my first one after years on Samsung. I want to go to Lollipop, and planed to start with the official ROM till I get to know the phone a bit better. I was under the impression that the 5.0 update was released, however, after browsing round, it seems not for the UK... is this correct of have I missed it?
I'm on 4.4.2 Build JDQ39B, baseband M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190050. Does this sound right?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] New delivery, LG-D855V?

Hi all,
I just receieved my new LG G3 from Vodafone Australia. It's currently charging but upon inspection it has a model number which I hadn't noticed when I was researching the phone (LG-D855V).
I've attached pictures of the box, manual screens from the phone referencing the model number. Does anybody know what the difference is etc?
I'd say the V is just for Vodafone. You should DEFINITELY get to flashing a newer rom or doing an OTA update asap. That's the base rom for the phone, v10a. The latest 4.4.2 version is V10L I think. Alternatively, you can go to Android L. There's a dedicated LG G3 Australian Owners thread in the general section if you need help from any of us

Ah makes sense I guess. I've checked the hardware and it all seems identical to the D855. I came from a Nexus 5 with L and I'm already missing it so I'll definitely be looking to get an L rom on there.
Will take a look at the thread and do some reading. Thanks for your input.
did you get a gift?
optus is just d855; free wireless charger
telstra is d855k; free g watch
to clear confusion - you can flash d855 roms, the letter v doesnt matter. it confused me when i got mine lol.
DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT TO ROOT!

[Q] Update or not?

Dear all,
Just bought an UK version of Lg G3. It is installed the 5.0 of Android and everything is good.
However, the smartphone always asks to update to the last version, of 19th May.
What do you suggest to do? I have read about many problems related to updating. Should I keep the phone as it is or update?
Thanks in advance

HTC ONE M8 software downgrade issues HELP?

Hy i'm new on the forum so i posted thread about software issues. I will be short and clear. Since i bought this magnificent smartphone from one guy i did not know that IR blaster function is not avialbe on the latest android update i'm talking aboud android 6.0. So i downloaded 4.4.4 t-mobile version android for my M8 and i tried to flash my phone to 4.4.4. stock rom but in stage 0/7 of flashing i just went to the 1 of 7 steps and i get error so i just asking why i cannot install the offical stock kit-kat rom whats the problem. The previous owner of HTC says that the phone is bought in T-mobile store and i can approved that because the packaging of my HTC is writing on the box it was the T-Mobile so i don't know its my phone T-mobile version or normal international version.
Sorry for my rusty english hehe

Z5P Dual (E6883) 1299-6237 Update to 7.0

Hello,
Been waiting for update to Android 7.0 since the news been spread on XperiaBlog and XDA, but still no official release for 1299-6237 (HK Version). Hence, a question arise: Are there additional certifications that apply to HK ROM version that it takes so long for an update, or is there is another reason for it? Also, any idea when to expect the update then? Thanks for help in advance!

you can take the Indonesia or India version... since HK , the last update was .305 / oct2016 ... i am not sure why the stopped pushing for HK
Thanks for reply! I know I can manually flash it, but to be honest, with device like this I cannot be bothered (and frankly not many people do, as pretty much no development going on). I am more reliant on OTA or Companion updates as I do not want to lose my data. Hence it owuld be nice to know if someone would have an explanation for such nonsence really.
I was in the same boat as you. I bought my Z5p dual off of Amazon and received an HK version. I've been waiting for a Nougat update and could wait no longer. I updated using the russian update file and can confim that everything works and no bugs to report. Also no data was lost and my phone language remained in English post update. Should you change your mind...
But to contribute to your question, according to the Experia blog there appears to be a relatively big update coming in April to fix a couple of the Nougat issues with sound some users were reporting. That could be why they halted rollouts again.

Resetting to a stock Android?

Hey guys, hope all is well with everyone and you're all having a great new year.
Just a quick question. I had to buy my razer phone off eBay as they don't sell it in Australia. It's the 3 version for some reason from Hong Kong.
Just wondering what image I should use that is the latest standard firmware that isn't with 3?
And do I just unlock my bootloader and use the twrp guides to do so?
Thanks again everyone, all your help is greatly appreciated.
So far no stock image
We have to wait till someone find solve or Razer release there stock image.
So there's no way to get stock razer firmware so I don't have the 3 crap in it?
Not yet no.... Out if interest have you had a notification for an update of 92mb for camera and dolby?
Us stuck wifh three branding are also stuck waiting for them to release updates.
