What version of android are you on? Is your phone's bootloader unlocked? Do you have a custom recovery on your phone? Were there any errors when you tried to root? Can't really answer without knowing exactly what's going on.
Have you tried flashing SuperSU.zip?

Yes you can do it with clockwork mod.
Just download this to your memory card: SuperSu 2.46.zip.
Then boot into the ClockWork Mod Recovery and install the zip file which you downloaded from SD card.
That's all

From the recovery (whatever recovery, even stock), download and install this: Lollipop 5.1 Update.zip

The phone is superb and battery life is great. But the RAM is only 256MB so I cannot play game like Temple Run and Subway Surfer. So I like to add Swap RAM by using "Swapper for Root" app to speedup my phone.

Some root tools were not able to root my phone. As a beginner and a non programmer I believe its because of the structure of the phone.
1. MTKdroid root tool - Unable to root
2. binary root tools - Unable to root
3. Eroot - Unable to root
4. SRS - Unable to root
5. Manual rooting- failed
6. stock recovery rooting - failed
I backed up my ROM with MtkDroidTool, this tool may ask you to root again, (just click root if that button appears).

Hey guys just try "FRAMAROOT"s latest version and your a2+ will be rooted .... just install the apk in your phone and the software will do everything by itself :good::good: . Worked perfectly fine for me , the only difficult task will be to find a custom rom for a2+..

download framaroot and then install superuser and then click boromir
restart your phone . you can see superuser installed .
download root checker basic from play store and verify our root access .
it shows your phone has been rooted
If something happens wrong then it is not my fault

Try KingoRoot.
U can download KingoRoot from it's official site. The site also has instructions on how to root your Micromax Bolt. I've done it succesfully . And do it at your own risk. You need a PC to do this.
Use latest version of Baidu root 100% working..

Follow the procedures so that you can easily root the phone.
1. Download the kingroot user from playstore.
2.Install the app.
3.Tap on the kingroot icon and open it.
4.Tap on the start root button to start the process
5.Now the kingroot will start rooting the process.
6.Within a minute or two you will see a big tick which symbolize that your phone is rooted.
7.Now reboot or restart your device.

Someone please upload stock dump or even system and boot.img from backup will do, other mt6582 devices are waiting for it
Have you actually tried this on an Android One device ?
All I get is this Green spinning circle in the center for KingRoot on my MMX A1.
All the exploits in Framaroot also fail.
On another note , this is not your standard run of the mill MTK 6582 device.
It does not have a preloader and so cannot be flashed or dumped using SPFlash tool.
The bootloader can be unlocked as follows :
Get into fast boot mode by pressing volume up and power at the same time while the phone is switched off.
Then use the volume up button to navigate to fastboot mode and volume down to select.
The following command unlocks the bootloader :
fastboot oem unlock
But make sure you format cache and userdata after doing that otherwise you will get stuck on the boot animation.
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
The recovery is also non existent as you get a fallen robot with some chinese text under it.
I've attached a screen of the partition table according to mtk droid tools.
I have tried all possible methods to root this phone but have been unable to do so.

No , towel root does not work either.
The only option seems to be compiling a rooted kernel from source and flashing that to get get root.

i havent tried it yet i hav stated easy and quick method to root mt6582!! hav patience and wait until i get the device estimated delivery date is 25 September!!! :angel:

I got a notification that an update (7.2MB) is available and when I click on Install, the phone restarted and booted in to my CM Recovery , I restarted my phone and now when i check I do not see any update...
you need to flash original recovery and unroot in order to install it, or just wait for someone to capture the OTA link and then go into recovery to install it
you need nothing to do just download the ota from here and flash it with twrp or philz! it ralyy works.
The 7 mb update only changes ur built number.

Got update around 7.7 mb, but facing installation error

Hey guys im Vivek and some days before I had a problem with installing 18 mb update and yes I'm a rooted user .the thing what I did to successfully install the new updates is flash android one stock recovery by flashify (app on play store)then uninstall ur root (open SuperSU settings and full unroot) and an important note that u should have ur android 5.1 update zip on ur SD card.power of ur phone go in reboot mode then install zip from SD card (install ur 5.1zip) and reboot system then download the remaining updates from settings -about phone - system update - it will work guys good luck.U HAVE TO DO SAME THING IF U R UNABLE TO INSTALL 7MB UPDATE

Buddy Flashify will wipe all data ?..
If you unroot directly from super SU you would mess up if you had deleted stock apps I suggest use sp flash tool instead

Did u lock ur oem?(reboot in fastboot mode and then open command panel and type fastboot OEM lock)
Buddy actually I'm new to all this stuff but still let me try first..and then i will ask u if i stuck somewhere.
