I have no idea if this even boots. I need testers. Also, dual sim is much harder to get working, so single sim will come first.

stuck on boot screen
Awesome. I hope you work on this soon.
As of now, it is stuck on boot screen. Not booting up.
Waiting for the stable version.

Thanks for the Feedback! I will work on this more during spring break next week. Maybe tonight I may have time. Is it the HTC boot screen or the MIUI boot screen? Does the computer detect it in that state? If adb connects can you send a logcat? Thanks again!

That's ok I will take a look at the kernel. Just restore to your latest backup and I will hopefully have a new build soon

Try it on dual sim Desire 816W(a5_dug) and stuck at bootanimation.

Thank you for the feedback. I am currently working on a new build.
EDIT
New Build up! I tweaked the kernel and the updater-script. feedback would be appreciated The kernel repacking is giving me trouble so this will likely not boot but a test would be appreciated. Thanks to all you guys for your support!
EDIT #2 ANOTHER new version up! Also, a bit of technical news. Alpha versions 1.0 and 1.1 are based on cyanogenmod alone. From 1.2 and up, I will likely use the existing miui v5 port as a base for the Rom. I did not make the MIUI v5 port, a developer called hasz did, but he is not on xda that I am aware of but I credited him in the description. Good luck! Alpha 1.2 has a better chance of booting I think..

You're welcome.
It is the MIUI boot screen and no, the device is not getting detected by my computer. I'll flash the latest alpha and post the feedback later.

LOL that, you're right.
anyway, it is not booting past the HTC boot screen. No MIUI boot animation. It is stuck there with a black screen. I am pretty sure it is bricking the device because i have to restart the phone using volume up+power button. The computer is unable to detect the device.

Also does your build include the LTE tethering script i sent to Pauli?

That's also something new, I have seen my wifi go to Authenticating then just say saved and not connect. I either long press on it and choose connect or turn my wifi off then back on and it connects.
I don't have data on my phone so I rely heavily on wifi. Seems it has only happened when I'm originally connecting to my home wifi, reconnects without issue when I get home from work everyday. At work, it connected without issue and has each time since automatically. Seemed, from my experience, to only have an issue connect the first time to the first network.
Has anyone else been having a lack of wifi?
You can try another kernel if you'd like, can't say if they'd work or not as I've never tried one. Thus I'm not sure which to suggest.
Tried smoocha and att kernel from this group wouldn't boot afterwards.had to reflash the ROM.
Was able to get WiFi working By flashing latest modem file.

I've had the same issue. Flashed last night and no matter what it won't connect to my home wifi though it does scan and see available networks. I'm just searching for the modem right now. Great Rom though. Everything is nice and snappy.

[KERNEL][N5] FrancoKernel - r115 - 2nd November - Stock & Oreo

Hi all.
Compatibility:
It should work on any rom by following this logic:
Builds (starting with r65) are Android 5.0 Lollipop only.
Builds (starting with r72) are Android 5.1 Lollipop only.
Builds (starting with r76) are Android 6.0 Marshmallow only.
Builds (starting with r97) are also compatible with Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 7.1 Nougat .
Builds (starting with r114) are also compatible with Android 8.1.0 Oreo.
This does not work with "CAF" roms.
Download:
https://francokernel.app
Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app
Features:
1 - Legendary battery life
2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
5 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
6 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
7 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
8 - No crap placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
9 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.

Ahhh Franco, the king, the mighty one, the sexy little gnome.......
Glad you'll be working on the n5, mine arrives Monday. Will the app work with the n5 out of curiosity also will you be able to post the old version of the app with all the features? Or was that made redundant? I kinda went outta touch when there was 2 versions of the kernel on n4 and couldn't get either running

Should be fine if you flash it instead of booting it. Weird things happened on Mako as well if one booted the boot.img instead of flashing. Can you confirm this for me?

What do you mean old version of the app with all features? Those 2 Kernel versions were because stupid Google decided to derp AOSP and roms decided to go derp mode as well and either built stock JWR, or then hybrid, others went JSS... a mess.
App will go fully functional with the N5 as soon as I get the device on my hands and I get some quality time with it.

Must be an error in zip, Ill fix that and Re-Upload it..
Update: Do to a problem with the Zip file, I had to Redo Zip. New one has been tested by me, And works.
Sorry for the inconvenience..
BTW: This kernel is worked on all the time, So new updates will be released alot. I already know of a few more things that I want to add.
My Goal is to make this Operate at low temps while keeping its performance as well at Longer Battery Life.
One of my test builds, The battery lasted me 3 days on a single charge. Without heavy usage.
My temps range betwen 87f /30c - and - 100f/37c (Stabilize around 97f/ 36c).

@Eliminater74
Keep it up! It will get easier over time and its nice to look back and see how you have become more adept at what you are doing.
Just some friendly advice:
1. Always give proper credit
2. Always make clean commits.
1. is just because we do this for fun and for some sort of recognition (Even if some Devs won't admit it) and 2. because it makes troubleshooting, and reverting WAYYYY easier. When I started, I learned this the hard way. This way if you get into a situation where you have to make reverts or reset the branch, you are able to be more surgical about what you remove. If you have a commit that has alot going on in it then sometimes you cannot revert cleanly and it will have to be done manually. This can sometimes leave you more prone to make simple mistakes. Ones that we ALL make when Dev'ing late at night after a day of hard work and should really be getting more sleep. lol
Oh and 3. Learn to use Meld properly. This will make merging so easy, and will save you a metric crap ton of time.
If you need anything, feel free to PM me.
Regards,
Render

Oh and 3. Learn to use Meld properly. This will make merging so easy, and will save you a metric crap ton of time.
If you need anything, feel free to PM me.

Wow, I would of never thought that someone like you would stop in to say anything. And very positive feedback indeed..
When I saw your name, I thought I was seeing things. I had to look twice.
But thanks man... I appreciate everything you said.. It all makes perfect sense..
It's a pity this kernel won't work with slim based roms. I really wanted to try it. Running Tesla ROM and it gets stuck on boot-up screen.

Apparently only the original 777kernel works with Tesla. Tesla is lollipop 5.1.1_r4. Thanks anyway.
Proof that it works with Slim based Roms.....

Merhaba, great work. I know that android one(2nd gen) and wileyfox have same hardware. but what about moto g(3rd gen)? If they are same can you port kernel from moto g thread for our devices?
nice one. gonna try it
EDIT: doesn't install. I get the following error: failed to extract dir from "system" to "/system"
Installs fine on the wileyfox but gets stuck half way through the setup on mi account and I can't get past it. I'm gonna wait till this is stable.

How did you install it?
Which recovery are you using?
I'm using TWRP 3.0.2 and coming from Cyanogen OS 13.
I don't mind not setting up the mi Account.
Thanks.

Hi,
First of all, the mi account is part of the setup wizard and halfway through the setup when you get to mi account, it gets stuck and you can't get past it. But if you still want to install it even if you can't use it, I used twrp 3.0.2-3 by beroid and just took a backup of my current rom, wiped all of the partitions except internal storage and sd card and installed it!

This means the ROM is unusable then, doesn't it?
What's the point of flashing a ROM if you can't past the initial setup wizard?
Perhaps @atakan58 can help us here.
Thanks.

Thanks dude, but unless Google Translate is failing me, the newest version on there is 6.6, making the version on this thread more up to date.
Also it's listed under Lollipop ROMs.. I thought MIUI 8 was Marshmallow only??

Sailfish OS (also styled as SailfishOS or abbreviated to SFOS) is a mobile operating system combining the Linux kernel for a particular hardware platform use, the open-source Mer core middleware, a proprietary UI contributed by Jolla, and other third-party components.
https://img.xda-cdn.com/sP516dFVJKyUezAnTyIGYjZ1iU0=/http%3A%2F%2Fpraxistipps-images.chip.de%2FZfsIsgbRpVTn3hYYVzeQ91Fxnz0%3D%2F0x0%2Ffilters%3Ano_upscale%28%29%3Aformat%28jpeg%29%2Fpraxistipps.s3.amazonaws.com%252Fdas-jolla-phone_210d4af5.png
It's a beautiful OS developed by the Jolla and the mer team. The UI is totally guesture based. So say good bye to your boring Android navigation bar. The OS is fast and butter smooth with zero lags. This is a totally new experience and certainly a delightful one from the same old boring mundane Android which has had almost the same UI since 5.0 .
Flashing Process:
Note: This has to be flashed over LineageOS 15.1
1. Download LineageOS 15.1: LineageOS 15.1
2. Download Sailfish OS 3.0: SailfishOS 3.0
3. Wipe cache, dalvik cache system and data. Copy the two ROMs to your phone.
4. Flash LineageOS 15.1 first, then Sailfish 3.0 .
Bugs:
Bluetooth.
WiFi once turned off won't work
MTP
Maybe other stuffs I dont Know
Please Note: It is in pre-alpha condition. Not stable. Only for the Curious minds. Stable build will be uploaded in a while. But you can still flash and get a feel of it.
I hope i wasn't too late pushing out a new build. Sorry if I was late

I have to question...
What we have to do if we want to go back to nouget roms after installing this...?
And WhatsApp and youtube
works in this rom?
@PseudoDev
I cannot get it to boot. When flashing sailfish OS right after flashing CM13, it does not install and gives error (screenshot attached)
It installs successfully after rebooting to TWRP after installing CM13, but on boot, the phone freezes with dim white LED always on. I ran that adb shell command yet it does not boot . I couldn't take logs at that time as phone was not recognized in adb.

Are you using twrp 3.1? Actually, i forgot to mention that you won't be able to flash this on twrp 3.1.
Holdon, lemme upload twrp 3.0.x
It is chinese but you can change the language in settings. After that, follow the steps again.
Edit: Uploaded. Download the recovery from the downloads tab

It wont flash on 3.1
The commands run perfectly fine. Probably something wrong in your doing. Try again

What error do you see on terminal when you type it in the twrp terminal? Also, you don't have to go to fastboot. You need to stay on recovery and connect your device. From there, run the commands on PC.
