I was also happy with CM11 but after try AOSP its an other world.

Lol!! 129MB!! I didn't see a tiny zip since ics :good:
anyway I found what I was talking about in the other thread
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/54900/
take a look if I you find it good!

Saw it already, will check it if its needed in AOSP or not.

What's the difference between this ROM and Shiny ROM?

Based on lastest kitkat version, contains lastes kernel with asram (~50mb more useable ram) and so on.

Thank you very much, i'm trying this rom and it's very good and fast. Yes there are glitch when i go in standyby mode (pressing power button), in recent menu and in screenshot.

Thumbs up for helping keep our legacy device alive [emoji2]

This is known as you have seen in first post, will work to fix them but it needs time.

First of all we need to get this stable, after that we can talk about what can be added or not.

Please, in next release add in build.prop:
persist.sys.dun.override=0 (allows forced wifi hotspot for not friendly carriers)
persist.sys.root_access=1 (for supersu to work)
Edit:
Just tried the rom, it's good! :good::good:
Now here's what imo can be improved:
Very poor sound, it's very low.
Feel the lack of reboot menu.
There's no in/out data arrow signal (it's very stock!)
There's a huge delay when you put device in sleep mode and you hear the "click" sound of locked device.
Swipe up/down notification panel shows for a second a black status bar.

1: For me sound is ok, but will take a look
2: Will come back soon, dont know when
3: Thats not true, you just have the signal indication in toggle
4: Just the sound delay which can be changed, will also take a look
5: Sswipe it up and down up and down again and again, no problem here
As you know AOSP needs more work as any other, since its stock google.
Be sure will work onto it, but this takes time so please be patient.

Yes I know, take your time, no hurry at all, I try my best to report a helpful user experience. ?

Again stock google (AOSP) dont have this indications in statusbar.
On AOSP the indications are just in toggle, all other roms add it as "feature" thats shown also in statusbar.

True, I forgot about it, do u think to add them?

Few features will be add back later if the rom are stable.
We will see what will be added or not.

Will you be adding things at our request?
I never jumped back to Stock Android because I got used to Themes, Notification Bar Toggles, Mini and interactive tiles in the tile menu, Advanced Reset, Pre-Root (app integrated) and some settings that CM made famous.

Will add few features back, which exacly dont now at this point.
First of all we need to get this stable, the rest will follow then.

hmm but why is AOSP Kitkat soo much faster than CM11, which is also Kitkat?
Can you explain? Whats the biggest difference?
And...can i also use fancy-kernel with this ROM? Or would that slow down the Phone?

[ROM][CM9] Mackay Rom ICS Final release (12-august-2012)

Today, 12 August 2012, marks the end of this project. It is the date for the Final Release of ICS.
I have been sharing my CM7/CM9 builds for some time in my UNOFFICIAL thread. I decided to start my own thread as I am slowly moving away from stock CM9, with both changes in the ROM and in the kernel.
About Cyanogen: CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!
If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.
The ROM is based on CM9 with the following changes:
-Mackay Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28149309
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (see change-log for up-to-date information)
-Some patches I did myself to the source code (see change-log for up-to-date information)
Feature request are OK, but remember:
1. I try to stay close to stock
2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself
Post 2 will contain change-log.

Change-log

Mackay kernel ICS Final
Mackay Kernel source: https://github.com/kasperhettinga/samsung-kernel-aries/commits/mackay_kernel
Separate kernel download & kernel changelog: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28149309&postcount=1
The ICS Final kernel comes in 4 flavours (regular - added to this ROM, XLmem (extra RAM at the expense of 720p recording), and Voodoo Colour)
Sources have been synced after release of CM9-stable. So this ROM is based on the stable code of CM9 plus the addition described in this post.
For users that like liveOC, there is a mackay kernel version 0.41.
Mackay kernel 0.41 download: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/69000552/Mackay_kernel_0.41.zip
If you come from a non-CM9 ROM, you should do a full wipe. The Mackay-ROM itself is non-wipe. In case you come from a non-CM9 ROM or decide to do a wipe before flashing, you have to flash a gapps package to be able to use the google applications (like Google Play). Download-link to the most recent gapps: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
Dissappearance of gapps has been reported, also for non-wipe updates. Flashing gapps again after installing the ROM is a safety precaution that should prevent any issues.

First Thank For Your Work
A ROM to the kernel - or other way arround.
Will you update this ROM on a daily base, like you did with your former nightlies?
Keep up the good work

Depends on how often something interesting is merged. It will therefore not be daily builds. Aiming at 1-2 builds/week

This is a very odd bug. Not only with location, but if you scroll up-and-down several times you get different settings double...
If this didn't happen in stock, it may be related to the touch-focus setting I picked. I'll take a look at the code.
Interesting! Nice to see another dev working on our SGS 1. Downloading as we speak.
I just posted a new version of the ROM. Some fresh cherries. Kernel = still the same (even though the version number changed, but only real change is that the boot splash was slightly optimized...)
New build online. Fresh kernel, fresh cherries.
Changelog is setup differently to contain more details.
Builds are now containing all apps (so including Calculator/Music/VideoEditor) because their removal caused some build problems. Example files for VideoEditor are removed.
Can some1 please post only the new kernel 0.12

[ROM] [AOSP][4.9 toolchain, -O3] Sandy`s Ras_vanilla ( bionic/skia tweaks ) , July-14

History
Well I am a purist and seek for minimalism. I love stock android, but with certain modifications that i like for improvement in functionality. But the specific set of features i wanted in rom , i couldnt find it in a stock rom. So i decided to build one myself with everything i needed. I build for my nexus 4. I was building my rom for a friend of mine @pratheek1992 and thought could share my builds with you folks too.
Why ras_vanilla base ?
Simple, cause it has carlo's magic.
Features as of now
1. Volume rocker wake - always on without user configuration ( so that it looks stock ).
2. Built with 4.9 toolchain and -O3 Cant stress on how quick it is
3. Clear all button in the recents menu.
4. Advanced reboot menu and screenshot in power menu.
6. Rotation lock tile.
5. Lots of tweaks.
+ June 27 change log.
FLASH
latest TWRP is higly recomended
- full wipe if coming from a different rom, else skip this step
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- flash zip
- flash gapps
- (opt.) flash kernel since it comes with stock
- reboot
- log into google and let it sync
- fix_permissions (in terminal if your kernel supports the script, else in recovery)
- (opt.) reboot

Kernels
Any kernel should work just fine. I usually use just the stock kernel. But franco and Trinity kernels performed very well for me imo.
Thanks
AOSP - For android.
CM - Incredible amount work that they have put to make android so much more better.
@rascarlo - For one of the best best rom i have ever used. And for his sources.
@sparksco - For help when needed and Brilliant rom that is just unbelievably quick and fast. Please consider donating to this guy, he puts unbelievable amount of work on his tool chain and lets buy him a beer
If, customization is what you seek, either of their rom is an excellent choice.
All others who have helped me in their own way to make this happen. Thanks.
To @MBQ_ for the space in his server to host the roms so that you people have unthrottled and fast downloads, Thanks man. Please consider donating to him so that he doesnt have to spend money from his pocket to keep up the server.

Nice!
It will make it even greater if you add transparency settings (status bar and navbar) for a longer display life (due to screen burnin in those areas) and navbar dpi.

Thats why i asked u to try franco
Just flashed it. Seems pretty good. The stock colors are not for me, so I will flash Franco soon and change some settings. In terms of features it's fine, but personally I think that the customizable quick settings would be a huge + for the rom
Edit: if it stays this snappy I will gladly miss any feature
Edit2: I'm using the same minimal gapps package I always use but it seems like there is no gallery/cam in the ROM.

[ROM][MAGURO][5.1.1][SaberMod] SlimLP 5.1 (Build 12/25)

Hi guys,
I'm trying to learn something about Android, GIT and Linux, and best way to do so is getting my hands dirty.
As a Slim user I'm playing a bit with with SlimROMs, and since they dropped support for our device, I'm sharing with you my builds.
FAQs:
SlimLP 5.1:
Q: Is SlimLP stable enough for daily use?
A: If you don't mind the issues reported bellow, yeah, it is.
Q: Can I use another kernel?
A: Yes, of course. Just be sure it includes new PVR drivers.
Q: Are RRO Overlays supported?
A: Yes.
Q: Is F2FS supported?
A: Yes, you can use F2FS as FS for data/ and cache/
Q: Is Xposed working on this ROM?
A: Yes.
SlimKAT:
Q: Is this SlimKAT build different from OFFICIAL?
A: It's just SlimKAT "stock", you will notice no difference between this and official. It's built with Linaro and has some optimizations under the hood.
Q: Is it really faster/smoother?
A: I would say YES, but I can't guarantee over placebo effect, so I will just say that I've got a slightly better average score [~7-8%] in Antutu Benchmarks, for what it's worth. Let me know guys.
Q: Is F2FS supported? A: Nope. You have to use this tool and a kernel that supports F2FS.
Q: Will you...
... update this ROM? A: r2 is already up to date with official.
... publish a changelog? A: Yes. See next post.
... push more tweaks and switch to new PVR? A: I hope so. I would like to say "I will update ALL THE THINGS" but as an engineering student I can't really promise I will.
Q: What kind of optimizations? A:
SlimKAT is built with Linaro 4.8.3 [2014.04]. -O3, LTO, C++11 and strict aliasing are enabled.
Built-in Kernel is compiled with with Linaro 4.9.3 [2014.11] optimized for ARM Cortex-A9. Anyway, it is built from official source and has no enhancement, so I highly recommend you use a custom kernel for better performances and battery life.
Thanks:
Really HUGE thanks to @MWisBest, @Ziyan and to everyone who is working on SlimROMs.

*/
Please, make a Nandroid backup of ALL your partitions (system, data, boot, EFS).
These zips work for me, but you know Murphy's law is always ready to strike.
Known issues: If you find more, please, let me know.
SlimLP: [what is NOT working yet - the most are common to all Lollipop (5.0 and 5.1) based ROMs]
There's still a small band on the bottom of recorded videos;
Do you have an issue with your device? Here's How to Report an Issue or a Bug:
Please, before reporting any issues take these few steps. Many of the bugs are NOT caused by the ROM itself.
Are you sure you installed the right Gapps package? If not, flash SlimLP one.
Have you recently installed (or updated) any app or Xposed module? If so, uninstall or disable it.
Disable Xposed.
Are you using stock kernel?
Have you dirty flashed over your previous installation?
5.1 requires a factory reset if coming from 5.0 or older.
Still got the issue? Take a logcat and a dmesg and attach them to your report.
Screenshots are welcome if you think they might help.
Keep in mind that "MY GNEX IS LAGGY!!!" is NOT a useful bug report.

Hey guys, I'm uploading r2 right now.
I'm sorry it took so long but I had to fix some bugs and each one required at least one clean build.
I tried to build with SaberMod 4.8.5, I got slightly better performances but had sudden reboots enabling WiFi, so I had to revert to Linaro 4.8.3.
LinkTimeOptimization is now enabled (for real). Video playback is fine, video recording should, too.
Changelog is now available in post #2.
Is Camera App Working

CM 12 and FML Roms does not have the Camera App working and there is bug in charging the mobile when its offline. Are these bugs fixed in this ROM? Just asking as I do not see any open bugs in the description.
Thanks,

This ROM is still KitKat based and doesn't use new GPU drivers, so yeah, camera and offline charging are working.
CM12 and FML are based on Lollipop instead.
torch
Thank you for this amazing work.
SlimKat 9.0 the final release for kitkat is out, when will you work on it?
please don't forget to add the torch tile in quicksettings.
thanks

Everything should be already up to date since r2. I'll let you know.
I forgot to re-add torch, my bad. :|
Atm I'm working on Lollipop, I got it booting right now (you see my avatar? well, that's an actual picture of me) using @bsmitty83's FML beta-3 kernel.
The one I'm compiling won't work. I've got several logs, I hope I'll figure out what's wrong with it.
Audio is working fine, data too (on edge, I can't test HSDPA atm as I've got a very weak signal at my home), Camera2 doesn't save any picture, ...
BUT HEY, IT'S SLIMLP ON MAGURO!
Thanks again to @MWisBest, @Ziyan and @freshgiammi.
----- Edit
I heard you like test builds, so I'm uploading this one. I have to study for my exams and I don't think I'll work on it anymore for today.
Is this Rom EXT4 or F2FS or Both??

SlimLP should, but SlimKAT r2 doesn't support F2FS, you have to use poo706's tool. I'll add f2fs support in r3, I think.
Edit:
Errata corrige, I didn't add f2fs support in device tree. You'll have to wait for next builds. However, keep in mind that adding f2fs support is not my priority. I have to get kernel working and try to help with camera.
New build is up.
Changelog:
- Built-in kernel is now working. Overclock is not enabled.
You can use another kernel, of course. Just be sure the one you're going to flash includes new PVR drivers (eg bsmitty83's betas).
- Stock camera is now saving pictures (YEEEEEEEEEEEEE!), unless you switch flashlight toggle on in notification drawer. If so, you probably need to reboot and\or clear camera cache in Settings > Apps > Camera;
- Now using same toolchains as SlimKAT, check first post;
- Synced up with SlimLP repos;
What's not working yet:
- Video recording and video playback.
- Offline charging
- If you boot while in airplane mode you will be prompted to enter your PIN and won't be able to unlock your SIM. You should manage to disable airplane mode before being prompted for it.
- More common to all LP builds and not. If you find more, please, let me know.
Edit: I made a mess with download links, please check you're downloading test build 2.

I mean that flashlight toggle in notification drawer (check this gif) is not working and will break camera until reboot.
Flashlight is working in camera.
Some of the photos I took last night look slightly yellowish. I can't really say, I'm going out and I had to restore SlimKAT as I need everything working :/
You're welcome.

Actually, these builds are not meant for daily use, but they're stable enough if you don't mind the issues in post #1. Make a full nandroid backup before flashing.
We're trying to get everything working, so yes, camera will get better, of course.

[ROM] [6.0.1] [10/23/2016] [M4B30X] [Tuna - All Variants]

Android 6.0.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Introduction
This is a moderately customized ROM for the Galaxy Nexus based on AOSP 6.0.1. It is a unified build that should work on all three variants: toro, maguro and toroplus. Focus is on stability and functionality, with many additional features pulled from other custom ROM projects and some that I have designed myself. My goal was to create a build stable enough for daily use (I still use this as my primary phone) while developing new features that help improve the overall Android experience.
I welcome any and all feedback, including bug reports and feature requests and of course, donations are always very much appreciated!
ROM Features
F2FS support for /data and /cache. System must be ext4.
LiveDisplay / color adjustment from Cyanogenmod

Instructions
Install / Upgrade:
Flash ROM
Flash Google Apps package
Flash SuperSU (optional)
Flash Xposed (optional)
If you are migrating from a different ROM, you must wipe /data!!
Reboot
Notes:
On the first boot after flashing/upgrading, the device will reboot itself once before the boot animation (Google Logo will display twice).
This ROM has been built without DEXPREOPT, so the initial boot will take considerably longer. For this reason, I have made the ability to turn off the screen during the boot sequence to hopefully save some wear and tear on the display.
This ROM uses the older graphics drivers and is therefore incompatible with any third party kernels! Please do not flash any other kernels with this ROM!

Disclaimer
I'm not responsible for bricked devices (honestly, has anyone actually ever bricked a GNexus?), data loss, lack of rhythm and coordination. Please remember to ALWAYS make backups before you flash and if you are changing filesystems on /data, you will lose ALL DATA which includes everything on internal storage and the recovery will NOT give you any warning before it performs this highly destructive act, so just be aware! Thanks and enjoy!

Toroplus
I've installed the rom on my sprint toroplus . Runs smooth as butta but I've not been able to get gapps or google play services going . Open gapps will flash but you can never get anywhere with it because setup wizard FC's over and over . I've flashed it without gapps . It boots up fast and runs perfectly without gapps . 3G comes on fast , calls work , bluetooth works well . Other gapps I've flashed complete successfully but aren't anywhere to be found once booted . I've also downloaded the latest google play store apk to try and get my google account connected but it FC's everytime I try to add my google account . I think this rom will be great if I can figure out a way to get some gapps on it . I've tried FML 6.01 and it doesn't have this gapps issue so that's a good sign . I intend to keep trying and if anyone has an idea of how to get around this please holla at me .It seems like it might be a permissions problem . ty

I've also downloaded the latest google play store apk to try and get my google account connected but it FC's everytime I try to add my google account . I think this rom will be great if I can figure out a way to get some gapps on it . I've tried FML 6.01 and it doesn't have this gapps issue so that's a good sign . I intend to keep trying and if anyone has an idea of how to get around this please holla at me .It seems like it might be a permissions problem . ty

Make sure you install gapps BEFORE you boot into the system...or else you will get permissions errors. Flash ROM, flash gapps, wipe data, then boot.
Also, each time you upgrade to a new build, you MUST remember to flash gapps before you boot into the system...or else you will have to reformat the entire data partition. The runtime permissions framework in M is a bit of a hassle, and the kinks are likely still being worked out.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply . So there won't be any dirty flashing this for awhile then ? I did at first flash gapps when I flashed the rom . After all the FC's I did flash without and booted up . I am currently flashing dirty with MM daily on an S3 but that's another beast Lol .Are you saying I'll have to reformat just the data partition or do you mean entire sdcard partition ? At least we know data , telephony , bluetooth all good . I can't verify GPS until I can get something installed to test it with . ty

If you are migrating from another ROM, you must wipe /data. You may dirty flash future builds of this ROM (unless otherwise specified) but you must always remember to flash the gapps package before you boot into the system, or else you will encounter the permissions errors.

we should provide something like this at the start of the thread, so people know what to do
Please include your version of Galaxy Nexus in bug reports! (All versions are codenamed: Tuna)
GT-i9250 "Maguro" (World GSM)
SCH-i515 "Toro" (Verizon)
SPH-L700 "Toro Plus" (Sprint)
GT-i9250T (Australia)
SHW-M420S/K (Korea)
just for example. I took this info from wikipedia.

I'm using I9250 - Maguro
GPS works, Cellular connection drops after each calls and regains in 5-15 seconds.
Camera ok, video recording ok. but I miss legacy camera that you included in LP.
Thanks @zzpianoman .
Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback.
The Legacy Camera app does not work in M. The only reason I included it in the Lollipop CM builds was because Google Camera had a tendency to crash. This is no longer the case in Marshmallow, so I decided to abandon the Legacy Camera app altogether.
When you say the cellular connection drops, do you mean mobile data?

@zzpianoman , thanks for reply. It's not even mobile data the entire connection "no signal". I shall try to send a screenshot, if possible.
Thanks,

wooow, downloading
Thanks again for your work.
flashed and everything is fine. Customization similar to AICP (not yet complete as in MM, i.e. no system animation).
It is smooth, testing battery right now (idle).
EDIT:
without changing anything idle is great
Another one. Oh yeah.
A couple of hours on Pandora w headphones and no crackling and fps working well. Great job everyone involved!
Very solid performance, on par with @gopinaidu77 's Cosmic OS. FP scanner works better than on his ROM, but this one is less customizable... So I'll have to decide what's more important
Great job as usual, @jsbeyond.

Works Nice. Everything there except for me:
1/ system animation
2/ in aosp keyboard, there is no side arrow to move left or right on letters.
Otherwise, awesome. Seems smooth and fine.[emoji106]
