[Q] Windows 10 SMS send/receive sample - Windows 10 Mobile

Hi.
Have anyone tried this app on windows 10? Can I integrate it in my own app or it is OEM only?
github[dot]com/Microsoft/Windows-universal-samples/tree/master/smssendandreceive
I don't have Windows 10 preview on my phone to test it, but I am planning to write an app which can send text messages.

Ok

I cant download. Do you have a copy?

can't get cingular dash to use tmobile messenger

i unlocked my tmobile dash to use with cingular. i was able to use wifi to connect to the internet and surf, but when i try to use the built in T-mobile im messenger, it won't connect. aim stays one the "signing on" progress screen.
I have tried the tmobile messanger with other carriers too and have had no luck - it has something to do with txt messanging. I believe and msg sent with that program is sent via sms. A nice messanger app - that works regardless of carrier is Agile Messanger - one application for every im solution out there (aol, msn, google, icq, yahoo) http://www.agilemobile.com/downloads.html You can use it free for 7 days after that you have to register.
yeah, i used agilemessenger before. was just trying to get the tmobile one to work since it was built in already.
As mentioned above, T-Mobile messenger is a SMS-based service (uses text messages to communicate back and forth) and not a data service (like Agile Messenger, AIMPlus, etc.) which uses data to communicate back and forth. The reason why you cannot connect to it, is because you are not a T-Mobile customer and therefore not in their SMS network.
I use Agile Messenger and I am loving it. You will need to be connected via a data network though (EDGE, Wi-Fi, BT, etc.) for it to connect.

My O2 Orbit Keeps connecting to GPRS

Hi All,
I'm having recent problems with my O2 XDA Orbit. It keeps connecting to O2 Active GPRS but this only happens when I send or recieve text messages. The only way I can stop this is by stopping the Text messaging in Settings>>Memory>>Running Programs. This is only a recent occurance and I don't know if an application I installed or removed could have caused this. Quick GPRS and Windows update are on manual download.
I cannot figure out why the sms will trigger automatic connection to GPRS.
I would appreciate if anyone knows how to stop this permanently.
Regards,
Aston
Just check that SMS is set to be sent over GSM and not GPRS - go to Start > Settings > Connections > SMS Service.
GSM is the default, perhaps you have accidentally changed it.

Search on this site for a little application called "nogprs". It comes as a cab file. Once installed you can select options to kill (or enable) your GPRS capability. Works just fine on my Orbit. If you have a problem finding it email me at "bryan at pcdr dot co dot uk".

Palm Thread SMS App.

Hi. I just did a fresh rom install and decided to try to the Palm Thread SMS application. Its a very nice application but I am having a few problem with it. Once the application connects to the GPRS (Media Net) to download mms messages it stays connected to the network until I manually disconnect it. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also another problem I'm experiencing is I am not able to view the pictures that are sent via MMS. I get the message and everything fine but the image say "Media Deleted". Like it was it deleted while it was receiving it. Any thoughts on these problems? I really like the Palm Thread SMS application much better then the stock Microsoft sms client. My device is a Hermes 8525, running Windows 6.1. Thanks in advance!
If you use Schap's Advanced Config Tool, it has an option in the Connections settings to disconnect active connections after a specified amount of time.
...and if your using WM6.1 then whats the reason behind using the Threaded App? Just use the regular threaded SMS built into 6.1 along with Arcsoft MMS

Yep, that seemed to be the best bet.

OZ Instant Messenger WinMo 6.5

Does anyone know of a working OZ Instant messenger for Windows Mobile 6.5 on T-Mobile Dash. The current version circulating on these forums install, but when i sign in, communication between the phone and AIM are sent to "text message" section (as garbage code), and not routed to to the program.
Thanks,

SMS Re-Threading/Conversation Mode

I recently had to get my HTC Tilt 2 replaced with another unit and I have tried over 4 programs, including Microsoft's My Phone to backup/restore my SMS messages from the old phone to the new one. The process works every time with every program but with ONE quirk. One of the things that I loved about Windows Mobile was the new SMS threading...being able to see my sent messages threaded into their received messages. But EVERY time I restore the SMS messages to the new unit, I lose this feature. How do I get my SMS messages to re-thread after they've been restored using any one of these programs? (I've used imobiletools sms backup, rescoe backup, Godswmobile SMS, 3G Mobile SMS Backup, etc)
I just want them re-threaded....but all of the messages are there. But until i can do this, I don't want to take the chance and make the full switch yet.
HELP!!!!

Try this:

If this doesn't work then search for Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3. This has an option within it to enable/disable threaded SMS.
I tried the registry edit already and it didn't work.
Any other ideas? From what I've heard, the registry edit is for Windows Mobile 6.1 only, I have 6.5?
