To create it it follow this:-
How to make a dump:
- on rooted device download from Google Play app "TerminalEmulator" and run it;
- Enter su, appears "[email protected]:/ #", enter "dd if=dev/block/mmcblk0 of=sdcard/mmcblk0uptop7.img count=139008";
- after completion copy file "mmcblk0uptop7.img" from the phone to PC, for example to drive C:/.
You can use this method too:-

[TUT]Install Android 2.2 (Stable(somewhat))on your s8500[Oleg_k project]n00b friendly

Hello guys,
first of all a big thank you to anghelyi for explaining this to me very patiently and for uploading the files!!
Of course the credit also goes to Oleg_k, rebellos,mijoma,srg.mstr,nbates66,adfree, etc. (sorry if i haven't mentioned anyone)
As adfree said, it would be nice to have a tutorial on how to install the current state of the android on the wave , so DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
It is better only for people who have experience in flashing and using multiloader..
Read this tutorial carefully and please read the entire thing! then you will have something like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlW7g21PprQ&feature=player_embedded (credits for video - anghelyi)
THIS IS NOT THE STABLE WORKING VERSION, IT IS THE CURRENT STATE
PLEASE FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, DONT DO THIS IF YOU DONT KNOW TO FLASH PROPERLY, YOU WILL I REPEAT YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
The procedure:
*Works on s8500XXJL2 firmware. So flash to that firmware first.
XXJL2 Firmware - http://www.multiupload.com/WMGXTWKQH2 (thanks vivekforbes for link)
if pass asked - samfirmware.com (it should be)
Stuff needed
Ubuntu (if you can find a alternate to format to ext2 you are welcome to use it)
Multiloader(google it)
Download Kernel and Filesystem : (you will get an zImage from this file, DELETE it)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CI0QUBLY
The new zImage: (credit - anghelyi)
dowload either from :
http://badadroid.googlecode.com/files/zImage.anghelyi
and rename the file to just zImage without the .anghelyi
If lazy to rename just download from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?xl5aikl5e8r7hv4
Updated FOTA (boot without USB cable
http://badadroid.googlecode.com/files/kernel_boot.fota
Sbl.bin
http://badadroid.googlecode.com/files/sbl.bin
XXJEE bootloader
http://badadroid.googlecode.com/files/S8500XXJEE_BL.zip
Work Begins :
1) Extract the files after download
2) Create folder "galaxyboot" (without quotes) in Wave internal memory and put the sbl.bin and the zImage to this folder.
3)Ok, now get into ubuntu and do the following :
Make two partitons using gparted on ubuntu , one fat32 and other ext2
You have to copy those files while being a root user in ubuntu. For this :
Open a terminal
Type "sudo su" without quotes in terminal
Enter new password
Then click the power button on top right
Login with username as root and password as the pass u entered
Open terminal
Type "sudo file-roller" it will open the archive manager.
Use archive manager to extract files from badadroid.tgz -> filesystem.tgz -> You need to extract 5 folders(system,lfs,dbdata,data,cache..select these 5) to ext2 drive directly.
Copy the new zimage and sbl.bin to galaxyboot folder(create it if it doesnt exist) in wave internal memory
In terminal type "sudo nautilus"
A window will open
Go to ext2 partition system/media/audio and rename "ui" folder to "uibackup"
Open Terminal
Now in terminal type "sudo sync"
Unmount the partitions before unplugging the phone (this step helped milli133 )
RISK RISK RISK RISK
4) Replace the bootloader to XXJEE one
5) Replace the FOTA with the one you have downloaded
TIP - to those who dont know the above two steps : (thanks vivekforbes)
=> Open multiloader and select LSI and select FULL DOWNLOAD
=> Select boot(use xxjee boot files) and FOTA ( precompiled one in above download)
=> click download to flash..
RISK OVER
6) Switch phone on normally to see if Bada is loading
7) Turn off phone, Press and hold call button + power button
8) Thats it! Android is on your phone
Oh disable swype in the settings menu else your keyboard wont work!
DONT DELETE ANY APK FILES, ANDROID WILL WORK FINE WITHOUT DELETING THEM
Enjoy

Why in hell would you even want to get an unstable version of Android on your Wave?
Seriously, this thread should be deleted. Is it just so people can say, "look at me, I have Android on my Wave"??
Just wait until the guys have a stable and working version, instead of harassing them all the time in the other thread.
You will just stuff your phone up and brick it. It's not worth it.

You can't delete a thread. Only mods can. But even though there's a risk of bricking your phone, people have a choice to do this and this could grow into a wonderful development. So this thread should continue and see what other developers can put into this to make it a stable build.
Altough people can blow up their houses, there exists detailed instructions how to make highly explosive materials.
You've made good howto with alot of warnings, I don't think you can and should feel responsible for any bricked handset.
I have requested this Thread.

Possibility of CWM for the NITRO HD!!

Alright Guys,
so I just got a reply back from one of the Devs!! His name is Tenfar (he brought CWM over for the Atrix) and he said he will be more than happy to create CWM for the Nitro but since he does not have the phone yet, he needs our help. Here are the things he need:
boot.img dump of the phone or
recovery.img dump of the stock firmware
Now I don't have the phone yet (shipping out to me) so can someone please get these to me and I will send them to him. Try getting both dumps so he has more options to work with.
He is of course not making any promises on what he can do for us, but this is a start! Our first support will be a CWM, and if we can have this, then the doors will be wide open. So please get those dumps to me asap! Oh God I'm Giddy with excitement!! rofl!
Lets see if I can post a link to the files from my public dropbox folder....
Boot : http://db.tt/VRY60QRv
Recovery : http://db.tt/L6OwMJmx
Please let the developer know the location.
Thanks!
Also please let the dev know that I would be more than happy to help out with anything possible.

Schwin, I know nothing about these things, but after downloading the files, I can't seem to open them at all. I see that they're huge files for a .txt format but notepad just crashes opening them. And both wordpad and word can't encode it properly. I just wanna make sure that the files work before sending them over to him x)

I added the .txt so that I could put them in my dropbox account on my phone - for some reason Astro wasn't finding them when they were .img files. Also, they are not in a normal format for viewing - search around for unpack-bootimg.pl if you want to get at the contents of the files. You will need perl installed - and possibly other items as well (I have cygwin installed). This is what happens when I pick up my phone after feeding my baby his middle of the night bottle...

I'm gonna try and reach out to some other Devs as well in the mean time, but I'm 100% sure that if we ever get a CWM, other Devs will start looking our way and in no time, many new things will happen here. There are many others here too that are making a difference with all the things they contribute and they are all amazing as well. Pls make sure to thank them for all their hard work.

Then hit enter
Then put it on phone by typing this into the terminal apk on your phone
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 bs=4096

It's like this -
1. Place all your APK files into a folder.
2. Extract all the files from the ZIP Attachment below the post into it.

2. Connect your mobile to your PC.
3. Open the 'cmd.exe'.. (included in the folder you extracted).
4. Type

6. Type this code into the command prompt window :
Code:
forfiles /m *.apk /c "cmd /c adb install @file"

Heyy.. I never download any APK's..! It's just that I have a really slow internet connection (I don't even have it in my PC, I use USB Tethering for all I do on the internet.) So, I can't afford to download the same apps again and again.. why to waste so much of my data by downloading every app again when changing ROMs? So, I download games and everything from the Play Store and make a backup of them in the form of APKs..

For people experiencing installing difficulties.
Add double quotes to the file names since sometimes there is a space between file names which causes problems parsing the name in adb install command.
Otherwise very good tutorial.

Rooting LG H735 G4 Beat

hi, tried to search everywhere but to no avail soo far.. does anyone knows if there is an existing root guide for LG G4 Beat? its sort of a diff model but there's no sub for it so i guess ill put it at here since its still under G4 family.. :/
Do you have Android 5.0 or 5.1 installed?
First of all. Before you start to try root, download the kdz file for your phone.
The kdz is needed if something went wrong (e.g. phone not booting).
You can use the LG Flash Tool to flash the kdz to a bricked phone.
Use this link with your IMEI:
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI
If it works, please post the download link for the "kdz".
Or better post the output too, but delete your IMEI!
Your link will only work if you type:
csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=
and then add the rest of your url instead of the given link.
It's worth trying. You need to get a partition layout. Then @autoprime will give a full command to run in DL mode for dumping the system image, and flashing it once it's been injected with root. I can inject it for you once you have the system.img dump.
I wrote an guide how you can extract the GPT and calculate the dd parameters:
[How to] Determine dd Parameters For All LG G4 Models
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/h...lg-g4-t3184867
Do you know how to work with linux?
Please post the outputs of gdisk into a HIDE and CODE tag. Thank you.
Maybe you are a advanced user and can Inject root yourself with the autoroot.sh method (Inject_Root_G4.zip)?
Or do you need help?
I think you have Android 5.1.1 installed, so it is not possible to use Kingroot to root your device. Is that right?

would be nice if theres a step by step guide cuz last phone i tired rooting was prolly galaxy tab and it was wayy easier :/
Ok, well done. Is 10b the same version as currently installed on your device?
Some other details would be interesting:
Do you have an unbranded device?
Where did you buy it / where do you live? (country)
Are you an advanced user? Do you know how to work with linux?
The next steps will be:
Calculate your dd parameters and backup your system partition into a img file. Read my guide:
[How to] Determine dd Parameters For All LG G4 Models
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/h...lg-g4-t3184867
Please post the outputs of gdisk into a HIDE and CODE tag.
Post your calculated dd parameters, so that we can verify it.
IMPORTANT: Keep the original (unchanged) system.img on your computer (zip it).
Then:
Copy the img file to a linux system and mount it. Create a testfile (test.txt) on the mounted system partition.
Copy the img file back to your phone and try to "dd" it back over your system partition.
Check if you see the testfile on your system partition.
If that worked you have successfully overwritten your system partition.
Then:
Try to inject root with the Inject_Root_G4.zip on your linux system.
Copy the new img file to your phone and "dd" it over your system partition.
Please ask if you are not 100% sure what to do.
You are responsible for what you are doing with your device.
Backup all your data (photos, videos, messages...) before going one step further.

not really unbranded i guess? its a mid-tier version of the LG G4.. this is the phone.. http://www.lg.com/sg/mobile-phones/lg-G4-Beat
dont think its out at the US yet
bought it at Singapore as i recontacted my phone
nope i dont know how to use linux and im %100 not sure what to do :crying:
Ok so you are not a advanced user?
10b is the version of the kdz file. Goto Settings->Phone info->software version on your phone and post your software version.
First of all: It is not possible to root your phone without linux!
You don't have to install a linux on your computer (physically) but at least in an virtual environment (virtualbox, vmware player) or as a live distribution.
What you can do without linux is try to extract the GPT.
Which OS is installed on your computer (Win 7, 8, 10)?
Download the LG_Root.zip from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
It contains the Send_Command.exe
You need this tool to open a special console when your phone is in download mode.
Do you know this tool and how to enter the download mode?

no im not an advanced user..
its software version is : V10b-SEA-XX
so i guess its a 10b?
im using windows 7 right now
Yes you have 10b installed now.
The XX means that it is unbranded.
SEA means southeast asia.
Win 7 is fine. Send_Command will work.
Download the zip from the above-mentioned thread.
Then:
Power off your device
When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC
Wait for the drivers to install
Click to collapse
and follow the steps 7-9.

No you don't need developer mode.
But it is no problem if you enabled it.
Are you able to open the console with Send_Command.exe?

Update: it says NOTE: Do not attempt this on devices with 5.1.1 , at the time this method was posted it worked on many firmware 5.0.2 should i still go for it? im using 5.1.1
We won't follow the guide. We will do it like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
(You will also find the thread is linked there.)
The thread is just a good help for the Send_Command tool.
You don't have to change the COM port.
Are you in download mode? Do you see the "Firmware Update" screen?
Use the ports.bat and note the "netdiag" COM port.
Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here"
Click to collapse
Then enter:
Code:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM#
Replace # with your number.

READ again:
Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here"
Click to collapse
Then enter "Send_Command.exe \\.\COM#"

oh okay means im on the right path..
so now i just do this as follows?
Type "id" and press enter (no quotes).
You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and do step 9 again (the application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command).
Run the command specified in the section below titled 'Commands to Run' to flash the rooted system image.
After a few minutes of sitting, you should get back a "#" prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
Type "LEAVE" (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot, and your phone will be rooted.
