[Q] No mobile data after move from T-Mo to EE - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Received M9 this morning, was previously on T-Mo with HTC One-X
Put nano SIM into M9 and saw I had a 3G+ data connection before I connected to my wifi. OTA update installed via wifi and (after reboot) SIM changed to old T-Mo number.
Calls/SMS working fine but cannot get a mobile data connection - even did a 40 mile round-trip into a known 4G area but nothing, not even 3G, just sits there saying disconnected.
EE support say it takes time for the data provisioning to migrate from the old system and to wait for up to 24 hours but I think he was blowing smoke.
Anyone else see this problem? Have tried the normal things - airplane mode cycle, left wifi off, turned phone off for multiple 10 mins intervals to disconnect from network.
TIA
Aaron

So I had my number transferred from one o2 tariff to another, and I did lose data for a few hours, it just came back on its own after a while so wait it out and it should be fine

Thanks Kash, I'll give it the "mandatory" 24 hours before sitting in another customer support queue...

[Q] Getting only Edge (2g) speeds any tips?

Just got the GN (GSM Unlocked) and was mainly getting to know it on WiFi. Recently I popped in a SIM (Tmobile on the 30$/month prepaid 100 min/Unlimited Text &Web). The problem that I'm facing however is that I am stuck with only 2g speeds.
Do I have 3g/4g coverage?
Yes. I somehow got it to work for all of ten minutes while messing around in the *#*#4636*#*# menu but ended up running into a bug where I couldn't switch out of the European Band and so I had to do a Factory Reset.
So now I'm unsure as to how to get those signals back. I am on a modified APN setting for Tmobile:
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: not set
Port: not set
Username: none
Password:blank
Server: blank
MMSC: (ht)tp://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC:260
Authentication Type: Not set
APN Type: not set
Any help would be much appreciated. I am running the stock ROM (considering I had to do a factory reset). I have data enabled as well as roaming. I do not have the 2g box checked. Hopefully this provides enough information if not please let me know.
It should just work without you having to mess with anything..

Worked for me automatically.
Problem Solves (no intervention needed)
So hopefully if anyone sees this post they will learn the art of patience like I did. Turns out it just takes a bit of time for Tmobile to recognize that you have actually paid them.
I went to sleep and when I woke up I received a text message from Tmobile saying, "Thanks for the 30 dollars" and I was getting H, and 3G speeds. Issues sometimes resolve themselves I guess. Thanks to everyone who replied.

Yeah if you're registering a new line or SIM, it can take up to 24hours for it to become fully active. Glad your problem fixed itself.

[Q] Android 4.3 no mobile data working

Hi all,
Very weird problem, I have flashed the google factory image on my nexus and since then I can't make mobile data to work.
Wifi works fine, calls work fine. When the mobile data is on, I can see 3G/H near the signal bars, but the bars are grey, not blue.
Nothing related to data works, sync or browsing. APN is configured correct.
Any ideas?

Hmm... Usually the fact that the bars are not blue, means that you are not connected to Google's servers. It does make sense - being that there is no data and all.
If you are absolutely sure that the APNs are correct, you may want to give your mobile operator a call. I've had it where they (Virgin mobile for me) have had to "re-provision" the phone. it's almost as the carrier is blocking your data access.
Also, you didn't disable mobile data by chance, did you?
And lastly, I doubt it's an issue with the radios, but you may want to try a custom radio, if all fails (Highly unlikely that this is the problem)
Thanks for your reply, after 2 factory resets, sim card reinsert now it works. Most likely it was a problem from my operator. When I called them, they said everything is ok on their side, but curiously, after 30mins everything worked.
Hi,
I have a similar problem with the mobile data loss. If I send MMS or receive one, I lose mobile data, so I can't get google notifications, check FB, Instragram etc. After I disable and enable data in mobile network settings, everything works normal (I don't have to restart phone). I have already checked APN settings from mobile operator, they're OK. I am on stock 4.3 (I flashed factory image couple days ago using Efrant's instructions), no root. Any ideas?
similar problem
Having a very similar problem! i updated my galaxy nexus this afternoon from 4.2.2 to 4.3. I can no longer use the mobile data. I can receive calls and text but cannot check instagram, google+, and so on. My phone shows 3 bars and the "H" but they are gray. wifi is working.
Thank you in advance!

Exact same problem on nexus 4. Reverted to 4.2, 3g OK. Flashed a clean install of Google factory image. Blue bars but no connection

Stock, Rooted phone loses cell service when wifi is on

The past couple days, my phone keeps losing cell service within a minute or two of connecting to wifi. Sometimes it will connect back up for a few minutes if I search for an available network, but it will always disconnect again. I have tried restarting as well as running this app.

I turned it on after it stopped working. Will try disabling it again.
Nope, less than a minute after turning on wifi, it returns to (Searching). Interestingly enough, I'm able to browse at least the play store when it is searching(And wifi is off). It took a couple minutes for it to reconnect to services. I'm just not able to send or receive texts(Haven't checked calls yet)

Wouldn't really make sense why it is consistent with wifi being on, but working when its off.
This actually happened to me for the first time this entire morning. I didn't realize for hours till I wasn't receiving and couldn't send any texts. I use stock with root.
Now at least I know and will keep an eye out for it if it decides to happen again. However using wifi since than I have not had it happen again nor does it seem to disconnect anytime after either from the cell network.
This has been happening to me since I've had the phone when it was released. I always get dropped wifi when viewing twitch tv or something. I'm about to call T-Mobile to see what I can do because it's just to much of a inconvenience.

Cellular Data problem

At the beach today and was getting 3g to 4g showing on my phone (stock not rooted). Mail, chrome, maps and other programs were not connecting. I set up my tether to my tablet and it was able to use the data to connect with things just fine. Normally I have no problem with cell data. I assume the signal was not as strong as usual at the beach but it did show 4g and 3g and I would have thought if my tablet was able to receive the tether and load data fine the phone should have.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am having similar problems on my new zenphone2
AT&T Network, settings as follows:
per AT&T's documentation:
access point name: ATT Phone
APN: phone
proxy/port/username/password/server: not set
MMS port: 80
MCC port: 310
MNC port: 410
authententication type: Not set
APN Type: default,mms,supl,hipri
APN protocol : IPv4
APM roaming protocol: IPV4/IPV6
APM enable/disable: APN enabled
Bearer: Unspecified
MNVO type: NONE
MNVO value: not set
Now if I go into about/status, I see
Cell network type hspa (ugg...) Signal strength 83db
service state: voice: in service/Data in service
Roaming: Not roaming
Cellular network state: Disconnected:
Now if I were a betting man, I'd say the VERY last line is my problem.
But HOW the FRECK do you get it on?
hate calling the tech support (jerk support line?) (I can say that as I did it for a number of years!)
oh oh, just re boooted phone, and now cell network state says :CONNECTING..
This could be good, but will keep here as a answer to others, I hope!!!
Nope, went from Connecting to DISCONNECTED again
So original question persists!
(wifi on, phone fine, wifi off, no data...ie, cell data not working)
OK. so far , update from original post.
************it Seems that despite my telling the associate at the AT&T store I had a grandfathered, unlimited data plan.
AND that yesterday's chat with billing), My plan was re-configured to be a "no data plan, pay as you go" device *****
The nice person at the tech support hotline escalated the problem to tier 2, and also gave me a TICKET #. (YES, you ALWAYS need a ticket number at ANY carrier when you have problems like this!)
She also gave me a 3gb plan for today/tomorrow, and told me that tier 2 would be able to re-establish my grandfathered plan.
I also told her that this happened WITHOUT MY CONSENT, WITHOUT MY SIGNATURE, and that this could become an FCC complaint (they HATE those!) as well as the automatic termination of my 2 year contract from my side.
SO, we will see, and I will update later in the week.
but I currently have data now, that 'connecting... was the key message'

Question Unable to use mobile data on Rogers, but wi-fi, text msgs and calls work

I recently bought the Nubia Red Magic 6 Pro and I recently noticed that my mobile data was not working, but my wifi, text messages and phone calls are working fine. I am currently in Toronto, Canada on the Rogers mobile network. I have been reading a similar issue that has happened on the Red Magic 5. As this thread suggested to do, I inputted the Rogers APN settings into my phone but I still cannot get my mobile data to work. Has anyone on the Rogers network had any luck getting mobile data working on their phone? TIA

Okay After a few hours of searching online, I FINALLY was able to get it to work. The steps I did are as follows:
1) Download a 3rd party app on your phone called "AddAPN". For some reason, the phone won't allow you to save any new APN settings in the regular settings menu.
2) Open AddAPN and you will have to manually input the APN settings for your network. The settings I used for Rogers are the following:
Name: Rogers LTE
APN: ltemobile.apn
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
APN type: default, supl, mms
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
MVNO type: SPN
MVNO value: Rogers
After the above was completed I checked the Access Point Names in settings and noticed it was checked off. Then finally my mobile data was activated. Hope that helps!
