Tether without root - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

Anyone figure out tether without root on the Sprint S6. I have this on the Nexus 5, and hopefully we can figure out how to get it to work on S6 without root as well.

I am guessing that someone might actually need one of these phones to test. Only T-Mobile has shipped. Others are due April 10th.

April 10th. Anyone have any success with this?

I haven't found anything that works without root yet.

Thank you so much! You made my decision to get the S6 much simpler. Now just need to convince the wife why I should leave my Nexus 5 which except for the occasional GPS lost signal otherwise works well.

How are tall getting the msl?
Nevermind I just called and asked for it.

I can con4firm that it works also. So glad to see this.

How did you get it to work?? It looks like it works initially, but then asks me if I have a subscription. So no, it doesn't work, at least not for me :/ anything special you guys did to make it work 100%?

Are you on LTE? Did you reboot? Did you do a PRL update? If so then you have to redo it, and reboot. I am just reading what the other thread says.

No luck getting my MSL from Sprint Chat. Will keep trying. Any advice on what to say? They keep saying I'm under 2 year contract so I can't get my MSL.

Call them. I just asked for mine.

It is "free". As long as Sprint doesn't catch it and bill you for it which is a possibility.

I followed it step by step. Used it for roughly 3 hours while doing homework the last two nights. Haven't had any issues with it. If you do a profile or PRL then you have to re-enter the info but I haven't done anything other than what that guide tells me to do.

anyone upgrade beyond 5.0.2 OC9
This is on my girlfriend's phone. I think she took the initial upgrade when she got the phone just over a week ago. She in on Lollipop version 5.0.2, on the OC9 build.
We have this tether option active.
There seems to be a new update available, anyone know what it is?
Anyone able to confirm that this tether without root method still works after this pending update?

I got my MSL# from sprint, and after I enter the number, I get a wrong MSL message from the phone. I called sprint back and talked to another rep who gave me the same MSL number. Do you think sprint updated the phone so we cant get into that menu?

Anyone have a download link for "E4GT automated rooting package"

Somehow my phone lost root, CWM, and the Blazer rom that was on it in one swift swoop after working great for 6 months.
I need the "E4GT automated rooting package" but the links are down. Can't post in the thread since I don't have over 10 posts so posting here lol. Hopefully someone can help me out or at least let me know of another way to get back CWM on my rooted epic touch 4g (EL29). :fingers-crossed:

Oops, sorry about that I didn't think to check. I've got the autoroot.exe and could put it in my dropbox if you want to download it from there. Should be fairly recent.
That would be awesome. My phone is going back to sprint tomorrow since one of my battery terminals broke and I just want to play with some roms before I pick up the replacement tomorrow lol.

Sgh - i748 at&t

My friend who is a complete noob at rooting some how flashed a rom that doesn't support his model which is SGH-I748 which I cant find anywhere on the internet for some reason. I tried to flash a Stock Firmware for Sgh-I747 through Odin and it gets stuck at NAND Write Start!!
It was soft-brick before and I believe it is still soft brick.
It would be awesome if you guys can help me revive this phone.
Thank you very much in advance.

Apparently for the Asian market only.
Don't find anything else on it anywhere.
"Research before rooting and/or flashing."
Words to live by, or one ends up with a very expensive, yet fairly ineffective, paperweight.
Hopefully the manufacturer can/will reflash it.

Sounds more and more like a Chinese knock off.

Yup that there is 100% knock off too bad it won't boot, the knock offs have some weird android version 4.1.3 or something like that.

[Q] Different Software Build Number on My VZW One?

Hey All,
Long-time lurker, first-time post. Previous smartphones were Nexus devices (Sprint Nexus S, VZW Galaxy Nexus), so I never really needed to post. Everything was all there to tinker with.
I got the VZW HTC One a day or two after the HTCDev unlock was blocked, so I am stock, locked, and non-rooted. Quite an adjustment going from crack-flasher to locked-down, but I digress.
I was browsing around and noticed that an OTA was being pushed out, updating from 1.10.605.8 to 1.10.605.10. Having seen some others screwed by OTA updates, I know better than to even try to check for one, let alone accept installation. That, however, is where it gets interesting for me. I noticed that I am running 1.10.605.2. I haven't seen anything via Google searches, nor have I seen anything else on XDA regarding this build version.
So, on to my question: Can I be of any help with this build version that I can find no other mention of elsewhere? I work all day and have a wife and son at home, so I'm not on much, but I do check the forums in the mornings and evenings. If there's anything I can provide from my device that could be of help to someone, let me know, and I will do everything I can to provide it.
If you can, screenshot the software number in the About Device section.

So now the question is, can this be useful in the exploit/unlock hunt, or is it just a fluke with currently unknown repercussions? Since my HBOOT is the same, I'm leaning towards fluke.
Anyway, if anyone wants me to try anything, let me know, and I will try as time permits.

Unfortunately I don't think it is useful unless it had a lower hboot or something, we can't downgrade, and whatever exploit that may have been in that software may have been patched before release and took longer to release who knows.

G3 Serious Screen Issue (Fried GPU?)

Hello, just out of no where today I had a problem the exact same as in this video: http://youtu.be/drZc4ZPcuvo. It has finally went back to normal but now the screen is constantly flickering. Seems to me like a dodgy GPU or LCD connector. Any ideas amyone?
I posted almost the exact same issue a few weeks ago if you search for it. Yeah with my 1st G3 this happened and I had to return it.

HI, I see that you mentioned that you unlocked your bootloader. I hadn't yet heard of an exploit? This is a deciding factor for me in switching over to this device. Can you shed a little light on the exploit that you used? Is it publicly available? Did you get a device that already had the bootloader unlocked?(doesn't sound like it because otherwise I doubt you would fear them having an issue with it). Which devices is the exploit available for?(int, att, tmo, etc) Tha:good:nks in advance

No, it didn't help. Nothing helped. There was obviously something hardware wise that was broken. The only thing I can think that did it was that I was messing around in the developer options with GPU rendering soon before it happened. Incidentally on my 2nd replacement handset I had a few what looked like screen glitches, the screen almost flashed off and on a few times. I put that down to using the nomone resolution app when it happened.

After I wen to unlock it this message appears (see picture attached) and I'm unable to connect to the network via data. I have tried everything I can think of, flashing old kernel back odined back to stock firmware and the damn thing won't go away. Even went by TMobile in the off chance they can unlock it but the the rep talking with technical help was able to see the software had been modified in some way and directed me to call Samsung technical help.
Anyone come across this problem that can make a suggestion on how to correct it? BTW on wifi everything works including calls (wifi calling) data, etc.

Did you factory reset? (I.E. wipe your user data)? I don't see anywhere in your post that you say you did.

yup tried that also
The only way to correct/avoid this would be to not enable security protocol in settings and then make your system "custom" by using odin.
This is the Samsung "gotcha" for messing with phone in a way that borks it.

Yeah they got me alright, I have never faced a problem like this one and have been able to recover from most anything I've tried, either by myself or with a little help from members here with Odin or adb. So I already wiped the phone completely and odined back to complete stock 5.1.1, obviously that did not work so there is no way to restore the efs IEMI data?
Which of the security protocols and by custom using odin, do you mean flashing a rom with the protocols adjusted?

See Aou's thread about freezing this once you root. I'm getting the edge Saturday so been reading up on everything. Let me know if that works

He Steve, just thought I would follow up with you on this. Final verdict is to date as far as I could find there is no fixing the situation I was in. When that msg pops up, the phone is toast and there is nothing you can do except replace the phone. I spoke with T-Mobile upper technical management and they explained what happened is the security software in the device has detected root and disabled the IEMI from receiving or transmitting any data. Once that happens the warranty is voided and even a customer who's been with them for the last for the last 15 years can't get a break. They have a strict policy on rooted or software altered phones and will not want anything to do with them (the warranty warning is clear) can confirm that a phone has been tampered with even without having the physical phone in hand. So bottom line is something goes wrong with root or afterwards forget about any support or warranty exchange with T-Mobile. they will check security software and will know if you have tripped Knox.
The new "brick".
Sorry about your situation but it goes to show how Samsung is treating this phone, like a dang eyephone.

It would be a great help if you could break down your steps and procedures along with links to any downloads you did so others don't fall into this trap.
This is what xda is all about.

Yeah no kidding, the ironic thing is that I had taken the phone to be looked at lunch time and the phone was stolen while I was having lunch.
Do you still have the phone? No phone is ever toast =/

Yeah would you believe it, bet the dumbass got surprise with a useless phone. I have many places around me that repair laptops/phones and I know of two with very "savvy" techs in there and they could not help. then I go to lunch and the freaking thing get stolen, oh well divine intervention.
Holy Bat Crap!
If you have insurance you can claim it stolen and pay the deductible and get another phone.

This might seem like a question out of left field, but the phone that you modified that T-Mobile blocked, was it bought / leased directly from T-Mobile, or was it done through a 3rd party like a Rent-A-Center or something like that?

I've been thinking about this and it just doesn't make sense. If it is your phone, it's yours. They don't care what you do with it. But if you screw it up and you're rooted it gives them the opportunity to deny warranty. Which 9 times out of 10 they still honor warranty because they are clueless. There is more to this story.
Much more, and I really wanna know exactly why this happened..
