[Q] Massive cell standby battery drain when on WiFi Calling - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Has anyone noticed this on their Edge? I'm running the latest software release including the OTA. On my previous phone the GS4, I never had the same issue with WiFi calling and this type of drain in the same location.
So far, I've tried turning off VoLTE, but I'll need a few days to see if it makes a difference. Any one else have other suggestions?

There is a discussion going here about this:

Some are saying turning off wifi fixes it. I'm testing it now

Turning off WiFI fixes the issue. This is what you should do: Turn off wifi, fully charge phone, restart.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. It should be a permanent fix correct? Hopefully there's a software update soon.

Ok...So here are my current stats. I had Wi-Fi off the whole time. About twenty minute phone call, web browsing, about 1.5 hours of audio streaming with screen off.
I am okay with this and think it will just get better as the phone settles in.
Lost about 8-9% overnight while sleeping.

Battery drain problems

My gpad the wifi version running Android 4.4.2 got problem in retaining battery. It drains about 4 to 5 percents of the battery when the pad is in idle for about 10 hours. The pad is new so i don't think is the app i downloaded that is causing the problems. It must be something have to do with the manufacturer. Are you folks having the same problems? May be i need to flush it and reload the android to get away the apps installed by the manufacturer. Any ideas? Thanks.
Sound better than average to me (I've had quite a few tablets&phones ... but only have this GTab for 2 days).
that is actually quite good, mine use to lose 10+%.got it to only lose about 2-3% by using clean master.just kill everything when i go sleep.give it a go.
Thanks will give it a try. There are just too much possibilities here. Need an expert to figure it out.
Download App Ops Starter from playstore. Look for apps that keep your tablet from going to sleep and turn off that setting. Also you can turn off their ability to spy on you.

But when the wifi does successfully turn on, it cant find any networks, it just keeps on scanning.
Please help.
Some additional information
Rom: Stock SG Ace 2x (GT-S7560M)
Phone is rooted.
I've tried everything I know that might have fixed the problem...this means factory reset (data/cache wipe), reflashing the stock rom and turning the phone off and removing the battery for a few minutes.
Update: This morning, I turned the phone off and took the battery out and left it like that for around 14 hours and when I put the battery back in the wifi was able to see networks and connect for approx 15 seconds, then it turned off again. Halp please..
I noticed that removing the battery for prolonged period of time would return the wifi to a functional state for at least 1 minute before all the networks disappear and it cant connect to the wifi again.. what do you think this means??

Battery life - 100% awake?

Well I got my S7 Edge coming soon (pre ordered) but I'd still like to know what can possibly cause this.. I've had horrible battery life for some time now and I just looked at my battery status. It seems my phone never goes to sleep and is always awake? Back I'm the day we could check the cause but now we can't unless we root... can anyone tell me what can an android user do about this? I'm looking forward to the doze function in 6.0!
My phone literally sat for few hours while I napped but look at that battery draw!!

If you have "Aways Allow Scanning" enabled in wifi advanced settings, this will happen. Also, battery can go quick if you have "Enhanced 4g LTE services" enabled under mobile data (hd voice over LTE). I would check these two things first. Also, if you keep the phone's sync setting on all the time, thus might happen.
Hope this helps.
You should probably turn off NFC also. I have sync off and wifi only enabled when phone is awake. Data is off when I'm not on wifi. Charge my phone ever other day. I get really good battery life.
1d 1h 57m on battery currently. At 40%. Approximately 10h 14m left on battery.

Wifi drain on Marshmallow

Hey guys. I have a M5 dual, Android 6.0, unlocked BT and rooted. Since I updated to 6.0, my battery stands for less than one day. It used to last at least 2 full days.
Looking at the battery usage, Wifi seems to be the problem. However, I'm not using wifi at all. For testing purposes, I disabled wifi, wifi scanning, and location is set to device only mode, but it still reports that Wifi is eating more battery than anything else.
The only way to stop wifi from appearing in the list is setting the device to airplane mode. Does anyone know what it could be?

Ive disabled adaptive brightness and wifi scan and now the battery life is better.... But not even close to 2 days life
I kept looking for a solution and I found one that worked at least for me. It's worth a try if you're having the same issue with WiFi being what drains the most battery life.
Settings, backup & reset, Network settings reset.
This will wipe all your network data, including your stored WiFi passwords. If you had to download any configuration data from your carrier to make your 3g/4g work, you'll have to download it again.

Android 10 Update Bug Screen Flickering

Have a look at this ...
scary
https://youtu.be/2K6OfvVCSus
My 835 did something similar the first "real" restart after Android 10 got installed, went on for ~20-25 seconds I would say, then I pressed the screen on/off button twice, all came back and I could unlock the SIM and continue ... hasn't happened since ... but was indeed scary
Marcher
I had the same problem too. Another reboot cleared it.
Didn't have this issue. But I noticed new battery settings and turned on the "protect battery" feature and now seemingly my sot has improved by a crazy amount I'm not sure if it's a bug.
The feature basically just makes it so your battery won't charge higher than 85%, and then when it says 100% after restart, it's the same as just 85% before. I can't post image for some reason, but I'm currently at 53 minutes of SoT and I'm still on 94%..

Got the same issue randomly (twice since Update), thought itˋs Hardware(GPU) Problem. Iˋm going to do a Clean Android10 Install if i have the time to.
