Unlocked version - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Will the unlock version work with T-mobile LTE?
HTC site doesn't mention 2100mhz while T-mobile does.

Sprint Touch Pro 2 UNLOCK!!

As its mentioned the sprint version is CDMA/GSM so is it possible to unlock the GSM of sprint version to use with other carriers?
There is a wealth of information on this subject in the Rhodium CDMA Portion of this forum.
It is being worked on, but is not finalized yet.

yes, at PPC Geeks they are working on it. I really want to see it work on the Verizon network. I hate carrying two phones around.
I am sorry it doesn't make senc eto say you want your sprint phone to work on verison both are cdma unlocking won't help you!
I want the sprint to work on other carriers because I live in turkey where the phone is not available yet.. and I currently only use gsm so cdma won't bother me too much for now if only the gsm could be unlocked and used untill the cmda is also unlocked.

You say you live in Turkey? Then a Sprint Touch Pro 2 will most definitely work because by default it's already unlocked to international gsm providers.

[Q] Using this phone in Canada

Bought this phone on eBay few days ago and I started checking around about how to unlock it(though it'd be simple as any other phones, but I guess I was wrong). Found few threads talking about how to unlock it for US GSM carriers but barely find any information about using it in Canada.
Looking to root\use a custom rom and read that the CloudG3 rom will actually GSM unlock the phone, but will it work as well for Canada(will be used on Telus network)
Thanks.
The International unlock was actually the first to be done and originally how this phones comes (the LS980 is International GSM unlocked with stock Sprint rom). The GSM unlock for US carriers came after.
As long as your carriers operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz your good to go.
Root, Custom Rec, and install Cloudy G3 or other T-Mobile based rom.

Unlocking phone

Okay, so I'm going to buy an m8, but I'm on At&t but they are selling verizon. It's a really good deal so i wanna buy it. How much does unlocking a phone cost and where is a a safe place to do it?

Bad idea buying a Verizon phone to use on AT&T. The two carrier use totally different technology for both phone service and Data
At&t is GSM and Verizon is CDMA so it won't work

The Verizon variant actually supports GSM and CDMA bands. Its also not SIM locked (the only US variant I know of, that is not SIM locked). So it will work on AT&T on GSM and HSPA (it has the required 850 and 1900 MHz ands), but only some of the bands required for LTE on AT&T. So depending on what band AT&T is using in the OP's area, they may or may not get LTE.
I agree, if the OP wants a phone that works out-of-the-box on AT&T, then its best to get the AT&T variant or alternately, the US Dev Edition, US unlocked, or US GPE. All of these are intended to be used on AT&T.
And OP is better of getting just about any GSM variant over the CDMA variants (Sprint or Verizon) due to possible hardware differences. Any GSM M8 should be able to be converted to AT&T bands, although s-off is required. Just getting the AT&T version is safest/easiest.
@redpoint73
Thank you again sir.
I'm sure the OP will appreciate as much as I do the detailed information you've posted.

International version work on vz?

Will the international version work properly on vzw? All bands?
I dont think it will work on verizon and sprint something with the chipset. thats why they went with snapdragon.
Thread cleaned.
Please be respectful at all times.
Yes it will work. The best way to check is to just try. I used an unlocked AT&T Variant S7 Edge on my Verizon, and it worked! Although AT&T uses GSM technology most 4G LTE bands overlap.

The at&t version is not the international version. The international version does not fully work for cellular calling on Verizon.

Unlocked HTC 10 from Verizon or T-Mobile bands active.

I'm am looking to pick up an unlocked HTC 10 to work on the at&t network. I know if I get an unlocked Sprint version I will be missing some bands that at&t runs on. Is this the same with an unlocked Verizon version? What about an unlocked T-Mobile variant? I have been searching for a few days but haven't found anything info on unlocked verizon and T-Mobile versions. Only the Sprint version.
Thanks in advance.

The Sprint version's bands can be unlocked to run on Sprint. See this thread.
That said, I'd much rather do the T-Mobile version, it's easier to flash it to be fully unlocked. I also don't like that the VZ version has branding on it.

Just get a US unlocked htc 10. I did the same and I'm having no issues on at&t. I've had the phone since August. I paid about 350 for the phone. I was lucky and was able to get a phone that a was already s-offed and bootloader unlocked. Look on swappa screw amazon and ebay, they can't be trusted.

To use the Verizon variant on AT&T or other gsm networks with all bands available you'd have to s-off and convert to unlocked variant.
