[SCRIPT] Governor scaling - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Governor scaling
by FloHimself
Script details :
This script basically tells the phone what CPU Governor use while the screen is on either ON state or OFF state. So, you can now choose two different governors to rule your phone when you're using it and when you're not.
The script also provides some tweaks to each governor to make it more battery saving when the screen is OFF, and more responsive when the screen is ON. I've simply made some changes to make it compatible with our Galaxy Young.
Requirements :
A rooted phone
A kernel with init.d support
Busybox installed
Installation :
Do a backup of your phone, in case of a bootloop or something else - optional
Download the attached zip and put it in your SDcard
Install the zip through your recovery
Reboot your phone
How to change default governors :
Using Root Explorer (or a text editor from your computer), go to system/etc/init.d and open S98governor_scaling. Then, navigate to the line where it says : "Selection of Awake Governors:" and delete the # symbol of the desired "governor". If the governor you use isn't on the list, please add the exact name in between of " " and remove the # at the beginning of it.
The same procedure should apply for the Sleep Governor (see the screenshot below).

Notes :
Only keep ONE governor uncommented at a time
Default chosen governors are : SmartassV2 (when the screen is ON) and Conservative (when the screen is OFF)
I'm not responsible by any damage (which is almost impossible to happen) occured to your phone

[Q] Lagging while locked

I installed yesterday the AceSMod007 (Sense2.1+3 | GB2.3.3 | Stable | A2SD+) [STOCK | CM7] [v40 | 10/10] ROM with CM7 hboot and while the Sense 3 lockscreen works as it should, after the phone sleeps and screen turns off then it lags a lot until it unlocks again. If I lock and unlock it immediately it is ok. All animations and sounds smooth etc. But if I leave it for a few minutes it's like it slows down and needs a few seconds to wake up again. Then everything lags, it's unresponsive and I might miss an incoming call occasionally since it freezes.
When I get incoming call the whole thing freezes, the ringtone is interrupted and everything is non-responsive until the phone wakes up again and works as it should. What's wrong with that?
Change governors in cpu settings of this rom (don't know where it is because I never used this rom) to ondemand in screen off and on profiles. Or doesn't this setting exist?
I have CPU master free 2.0.3, you mean I change it from there? It doesn't have separate profiles for screen on and off, only some smartass, lagfree etc profiles.
According to this screenshot, you have a profiles tab with the option to set a screen off profile:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
.
Did you enable this profile? If yes, what are your settings?
Profiles feature is not available in the free edition
I downloaded no-frills CPU, set ondemand and bfq and it's solved. When an incoming call comes it wakes up without lag and plays nicely.
Where can I find more info about bfq etc and the difference between those?
Best app for controlling cpu is setcpu imho. Can be downloaded for free from xda if you are an xda member.
Don't know where you can find out more about that.

core control, system tuner, setcpu, no frills.. none working

Hi,
The title says it all.. they are not working.. I am using ARHD with stock kernel.. each of them reset the values to default on waking up, reboot, or randomly, or an app pushes the on demand limit..
What I want to do is to limit the clocks to 640 ( or 10000 at least) on daily use..

This is a known issue with Tegra 3. At some low level, those values are governed by the CPU. Whatever you set them to, doesn't stick. Only governor and IO Scheduler sticks.
However, this doesn't mean that your CPUs work at the maximum possible frequency all the time. The Tegra architecture manages the CPU frequencies and you see a distribution of times at different frequencies.

EDIT: There is one thing you can do. Using SetCPU, under Advanced tab, you will see Powersave Bias (0-1000). Set to 0 on mine. If you set it to 400, your CPU will never go above 1000-1100 depending on how many CPUs are online. I am not sure if this will stick though. If you test it, let us know.

This is not my work. I am sharing this app here and it was developed by Androguide.fr. The original thread source link and download link is given below. The link provided at the bottom of the post will take you to the original thread and you can download from there and post queries/questions/reviews there also.
The app is free and available for download in Google play.

Why I posted it here
The reason i posted this app information here, is because of the ease of use. There are several tweaks like build-prop tweaks, density changer, kernel tweaks, voltage, battery saving, Camera tweaks, cpu governor tweaks, GPU tweaks, BE2, Walkman, Beats Audio etc are available for Xperia 2012 devices. So rather editing the build prop manually just with a few click and reboot you can get the desired tweaks with this app. Most importantly it is extremely NOOB friendly.
People those are who little bit confused with manual build prop tweaks can just easily use this app and apply the desired tweaks with out messing up the device.
The app also comes with a recovery package, so that we can easily wipe all the tweaks and return back to the stock state of the device.

[Q] Two bugs: SMS drafts when signature, and voltage

Stock ROM. Two bugs.
In legacy SMS app, I have set a message. Any time I exit a conversation with back button, app says it saved a draft. Need to exit by doing menu-discard. I had this bug also in the stock rom for my previous phone, HTC Sensation, 3 or 4 years ago (android 2) (fixed after changing rom). I am surprised this bug comes back after so long. Is there a fix ? When loading the draft again, it adds the signature a second time, then a third ...
Many apps and widgets show voltage of battery to be 3 or 4 mV. Few app give the correct value. After digging, the value in /sys is good (forgot the full path file name). An advanced app shows the correct value internally, and gives a button to access the android internal hidden menu of battery, and in there, the value is wrong. So, it looks like it's an android bug, and all apps which get it wrong are those asking kindly the value to Android (instead of going directly in /sys). Is there a fix ?
Ah, found the file:
Code:
cat /sys/devices/platform/htc_battery/power_supply/battery/batt_vol_now
4193
The following shots are from Android Tuner Free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.at.free
3rd image says: you are going to reach a feature hidden by the manufacturer ... that could damage your phone. Use it at your own risks. => to me it's going to an internal android menu. A stock one.
