Keyboard color - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like the color of the new keyboard. It would be great if someone would make a mod to change the color of the keyboard. If I knew how I would, but I'm rather new to the Android modding world.

Choose a different theme. You can already change the keyboard color.
EDIT: In the Personalize Menu.

}

However, that is dependent on the theme that is active.

YES that is correct, but then you have to use that particular theme. What I would like to do is change the color of the keyboard and keep the default HTC theme.

Go to https://themes.htc.com/ and make your own theme. When making it with maker pro you can set your own keyboard color!

Or you can install a third-party keyboard app like SwiftKey which supports lots of themes too and provides efficient typing. One thing I like about SwiftKey is the simultaneous support for up to 3 languages without having to switch.

It seems a bit of a chew to have to create a whole new theme just to change the keyboard colour. I cannot see how to just copy the default into a new theme and then just change the tiny bits I want to ... any ideas/suggestions on this ? (whilst on the one hand I applaud the ability to create some really detailed theming for those that want to, it does seem to have made what should be a very quick config thing way more complex than it needs to be).

Glossy Minimalism - theme port from ADP1.1h to haykuro's Rogers r2 for Magic. [WIP]

Hey all. My friend just got his Magic last week, and we thought we'd give themeing the Magic a shot. This port/theme is based on haykuro's Rogers rev2 ROM found here. It's just a half assed port, at best, meaning that you'll have to fix icons and the clock etc yourself, using a home alternative and/or BetterCut. This pretty muck only themes the statusbar, the statusbar notifications and the menus.
Screenshots.

And a snap of the phone itself, running the theme.
(excuse the poor quality, the camera sucks)
Just thought I'd post it here since Magic themes in this section are few and far apart. As of now it's not a proper theme as it's just a modification of the files in the complete Rogers ROM, including boot.img and all that.. which means the update file is roughly 55MB instead of the normal ~10MB for a theme.
Anyways, if anyone wants to try it out, here it is: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HVDX8XY6
I take no responsibility for it, it might brick your phone. Try at own risk.
Nice one The desktop could use some new icons imho

Yeah, it's by all means not a complete theme. Just a proof of concept, if you will. I wanted to try Magic themeing out.
It's unlikely I'll ever finish it.
what is this for a weather app? o.o
is it possible to make black clean themes and use simple clean icons like the iphones. i do have an iphone but im in love with android so im not an oh my god i love iphone , just that the UI is so clean....Androids is very good as well but id like to have it cleaner, no fancy nothin simple black grey and white. Throw some cool orange/yellow in there.

MIUI: Icons

Hi.
I was wondering if there is any way of reverting back to Android shaped icons for apps, as I am not fond of the default MIUI iPhoney style icons.
If yes, please explain.
Many Thanks.
Anyone?

Yes with MIUI you can do lots of customization, not to stick on with iPhone style.

The screenshot you attached shows icon in a Square box, this is what I do not want. I want it to be translucent and only showing icon shape. You know what I mean, kapeesh.
Icons very customisable, I'm sure you will find something to suit.
You can either use the theme manager on your phone, or find some here on XDA.. There are many icons, trust me
looks nice. what does miui stand for?
No disrespect, but why is this thread getting so much attention from noobies who have no clue what I'm talking about and pointing out the obvious and irellavent answers?

[Q] Core droid theme change to any other!?

Hello, ive got the CoreDroid Rom on my HOX, i love the ROM's of Sergio&Co, but the theme of v3.5 is the first of CD where i say its a no-go for me, the Background in Drawer, and the icons... ...
my question is:
can i change the theme of CD to any other maybe from a other rom?
sorry for my Englisch and thanks for answers.
It's better not to since they use custom settings now CD Suite will be coimng out so the themes that's designed specially for that ROM will only work.

If you are not liking certain aspects of the CoreDroid theme, please have a look at our Themes & MOds thread here...

Here there are several mods for app drawer background as well as many other mods.
Regarding the icons, you you want them to look different on your home screens, use an app called Desktop Visualiser. It allows you to use your own icons to replace the ones we include.
New build coming soon with even more options! :good:

[Q] keyboard font color change.

I have tried most of the more popular keyboards out there but I always come back to big buttons keyboard, it doesn't have tons of features like some of the others but i prefer the huge buttons to let me type properly. Only problem is the themes for it are limited, I have searched up and down the net looking for aftermarket themes for this keyboard or apps that allow key font colour changes but no luck.
I simply want to change the key font colour from white to blue the keys are already black so at least that is taken care of by their stock theme.
any suggestions?
thanks,
joe
This what you're looking for? Only for AOSP ROM...

[Q] Change emoji

Hi there,
is it possible to change those terrible standard LG smilies with other ones? Or maybe there is a mod out there?
I prefer the original one of Android.

Jeez, those are terrible lol ?

So i found out it has todo with the fonts in /system/font/NotoColorEmoji.ttf and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.ttf
I've changed with the rootexplorer the filename to NotoColorEmoji.old and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.old and the smilies have gone. So i think we only need the correct .ttf-File for the smilies and change it to NotoColorEmoji.ttf and NotoColorEmoji_NonAME.ttf.
I will try that out later...
I've written a little guide how you could change it.
Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/howto-change-lg-smiley-to-google-smiley-t2809012
Well, I kind of like them. Better than the stock android smileys in my opinion.
@Protagoras it's just a possibility to change it, not more. So tastes differ.
I don't like them, because it's hard to see the difference between them.

Emoticons
I am able to send emojis just fine but when people send them to me they just show up as symbols.
Ex. If I receive a smiling emoji from someone it shows up as "X=^" instead of the actual emoji. Any suggestions on what to do ?
