LEGO dock/stand for Z3c+Moto360 - Xperia Z3 Compact Accessories

Here I come to present my lego dock for z3c & moto360
Features:
Fully reconstructible and repairable model
Cat-proof ( a cat chews/eats a part or two - you can replace it( the part, I mean, NOT the cat ))
Changable colours
Possible future upgrades (to put my gf's Z3c also to dock)
Materials used:
LEGO System A/S wanted kids to have a buildable helicopter. Didn't even try to make it.
Price:
The helicopter box cost around 800 Russian Rubles, which is about 13 Euro or 14 Dollars.
The dock built from it is priceless :victory:
P.S.: charger cable used is a magnetic one bought on Ali for like $3 for 2 pcs. the magnet is pretty weak, basically, thats why I built a dock for it to hold tight
P.S.2.: Sorry for bad language and unnatural text formating
Cheers, m8s, and LLAP :good:

lego Dock, you should try patent that before someone steals your idea

Does it come with a helicopter to Z3 compact conversion manual?
hahaha, great man looks wonderful.

Camera phone lens attachment

has anyone tried the camera phone lens attachment?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Wide-Conversion...NameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ShippingPayment
like that for example?
can someone posts pics for example, i plan on getting one for my HTC 8125. i would like to know the results.
if no one has one, i'll take the hit for it then.
thanks.
Not yet! 4 flavors too: tele, macro, wide, supwide
So I guess you've already measured and it looks like they fit ours per the required area for that lens mount ring attachment? That would be all of those lenses for <$55, and maybe they have some package deal as well...I assume the aluminum EPD'd plastic case will hold some epoxy to mount that ring. I hope the ring isn't too large to interfere with standard cases and mounts....
I didn't select the MDA for the camera presense, let alone ratings (which was not that high), but I love having all the abilities you can!
I haven't even received much of the PDA yet, except for the Holux GPSlim236 & an unexpected Arkon CM929-S universal non-powered mount they threw in I did not order (I'll have to check with them and pay them if it wasn't intentional - at least I did want to get one anyhow....) The place on amazon I got that from (buygpsnow.com), only ordered on maybe 26 Jun, arrived today (29 Jun) - beating the phone from T-Mobile itself with special super squirrel ship tomorrow or die options and everything. (I only mention the GPS in such depth due to the earlier post of yours regarding it...and it is a tiny thing as reported...a little smaller than a standard pager of a decade ago...and comes with a multicharger based on a USB--->miniUSB plug and a US 115V/60Hz wall and 12V cig adapter. The battery, BTW, is an "HX-N3650A" type I'm pretty sure I've seen before, and only rated at 850mA - I see it screams for an upgrade too. It has a miniUSB port, a tiny coax type thing I assume is for an optional antennae, maybe <2mm wide and not much deeper, an on switch and 3 indicators for power, signal and BT - and the stickiest most effective rubber "feet" strips I"ve ever seen (I think I wrenched my arm trying to move it on the counter! )

universal phone holder WITHOUT windscreen suction?

Hi all
I'm looking for a good, cheap phone mount for my XDA Mini. But i dont want it to be a windscreen suction mount. Can I get a nice cheap one from somewhere? Ideally it should be universal fit, so I can also stick my Ipod on to it if I want to
Thanks.
Here, this should meet your requirement:
http://www.semsons.com/aripmobvenmo.html
They have both color: white or black. If you have iPod and Magician, you should get the white one. I have the black one to match my Prophet.
Perfect fit for the Prophet/Magician! Fairly cheap also. ($5.99)
I recommend this webstore (semsons). They have a super excellent customer service. I cannot compliment them more.
Regards,
lie_ui
thanks. any more recommendations?

Thanks for the recommend, I ordered one today. $7.99 for black.I hope it holds to the vents well and doesnt slide around.
Hey lie_lu
can you tell me what the four screws in the bag are for? It seems pretty complete as it is and dont see what I can screw it too unless I make a board for it.
http://www.brodit.com/
can buy from pdahut.com - not sure if they serve US.
Works out quite expensive as you have to buy clip and mount separately, but you end up with quite a professional finish. No screws required so you won't damage your dash. Made for the specific make and model of your vehicle and PDA.
I will be purchasing one myself.
hashbrown,
Sorry, i also do not know what the screws are for.
I do not even use the vent clips. Do not like the air to blow to my Prophet. Also do not like the AC blocked by the Prophet.
I mounted mine to one of the unused empty space in my car and its pretty steady, have it for 3 months already.

Sony Ericsson Desk Stand CDS-75

Sony Ericsson Desk Stand CDS-75
Ok, i know this desk stand, according to SE, is not compatible with our X1 BUT the stand itself is designed for SE phones that have their connectors (fast-port) on the left hand side as our X1...and it looks really good compared to other desk stands i've seen.
http://www.se-store.co.uk/index.cfm...4EE&navid=FECA7BFF-3005-8DAD-199FA2B716F55A57
What do you think guys, would our X1 be able to stand on this one?
Edit:
Ok ignore me, i've just found this video demo of the desk stand and unfortunately it will not be suitable for an X1, that is a shame because the design is perfect, it just needs a USB connector instead of the fastport
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17830.htm lists an.... .ugly charger but it has a spot for an additional battery- that go for about $90 on the sony style site, ouch!
that is one ugly desk stand.. any others that are for the X1? very upset SE has done very little to support the phone in terms of accessories
Yah, me too. I'm gonna cry into my credit card bill.....

Custom 3d Printed Car Dock

So just like Cray Talk, I got tired of waiting on Samsung and designed and built my own Car Dock. It took me 3 designs/prototypes but the final outcome is quite nice. It has the POGO pins (only 2) and a micro USB plug. It was built on my Objet printer so I'm not sure how durable it will be long term but so far so good. The material tends to get soft at higher temperatures so fingers crossed it will be OK this summer . I would love to tool this thing and mold it but with how fast things change in the tech world, I doubt I could recoup my investment. I would be happy to share my CAD files of the car dock and/or the Gnex phone solid I used to create it for anyone interested in having a go themselves or if they want to build one. BTW this fits the CDMA with extended battery version.
Awesome work! Those objets make things look easy
I'd love to give the cad files (sold and the dock) a try - I have reprap myself, but hopefully I can convert them to something printable on my machine. (I'd like to try for a desktop dock as well)
What software did you design in?

Thanks. I use Solidworks. PM me with what CAD format you want and I'll send you he files.
Looks good, it would be perfect if I didn't need this stupid case. Wish I had access to a 3d printer.

I love living in the future
Very nice!!!
I'd love it if you could share your CAD file(s).
We have a 3d printer here at work and I'd love to print this :-D

pm me with what CAD format you want and I will send them to you. Native format is Solidworks.
AWESOME. I love it. Now if only Samsung sold a 3 pin connector or simply a dock that accommodated a case, then I would be in heaven. Seriously, the Droid Razr dock is by FAR the best dock I have seen out there. It used a spacer so you could remove it to fit the phone, WITH A CASE, into the dock. And then a simple sliding micro USB connected to the phone. No fiddling with wires, no head ach.

It's a shame there are so many cases out there with different shapes and sizes. Can't possibly account for everything.
Indeed but the most common is the silicone/TPU cases, so even if the dock worked with them, it would be a step in the right direction
Are you selling these yet?
FYI - if you want, you can start selling your desgin @ Ponoko. Maybe with a little more tweaking you could make a slot for the 3 pin pogo connector.
I'd bet you would sell quite a few of these.
As a side note, I'm kinda surprised no 3rd party has made a pogo pin car dock by now.
Im not selling them because they are expensive to build given the material costs $0.50 per gram.
Regarding the pogo pin question, they are in the design and are working great.

Let your customers incur the cost.
I am getting a 3d printer at work and the cost of the material will be much cheaper than yours...lets talk. How many grams of material does it use? Are you using ABS? Did you use a tutorial for the pogo part? If so, which?
For anyone interested in the dock I made...
You can grab the files from here.

There are several different formats including .stl. I bought the POGO pins from DIGI-Key, PN-ED8182-ND and the Micro USB from SparkFun, PN-BOB-09614.
I do not take any responsibility for it's functionality when built from your 3d printer or other prototyping methods. I built mine from an Objet 30 and it works great.
This is designed to fit CDMA version with the extended battery and cover. I designed it to snap on an existing Motorola suction cup mount from a droid bionic car dock.
Have fun!
Thanks a lot this will certainly come in handy.

I PM'd you the info on getting my files. I don't remember the exact weight but I think it is around 150 grams of build material and 200 grams of support material. I have an Objet machine so it uses photo polymer material specific to Objet.
The pogo pin design and usb design is my creation, no tutorial around that I know of.

HTC One X Desktop Cradle with Speaker CR S650

http://www.expansys.com/htc-one-x-d...tm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=base&ito=1701
Considering getting one of these when they are released... I just wanted to ask if anyone has read about the wattage? If it works as a decent speaker I'd be more than tempted. If it's a measley 2.5W pile of nothing I might not bother...
i dont think the speaker will be anything good, more about just puttng the phone on a dock, but i do think its overpriced for what it is, but i love the idea of it.
I just think perhaps the wattage could be the decider... if it's good it'll be reasonable value. I suspect it might not be though
I think its more "gentle" to put the phone on a cradle like this then fiddle in the plug every night isnt it?!
Be warned that if you want to use a case on the phone and still dock it, the ONLY hard case that seems to let the "pins" of the dock reach the back of the phone is the HTC HC C704 which stupidly doesn't have a clear version like the HTC HC C700. The C700 is missing the holes!! Very odd design choice by HTC
Poor thing! And the c704 don`t seems to protect the ring around the lense of the cam.
You can't protect the ring on the camera with the docking cases because the dock has a groove that holds the camera, and the extra protection would make it sit in the dock less securely(because it can't sit flush to the dock). I believe that is why they differentiated the cases.

But there is a white and a grey version to match each colour of the phone.
For me, the dock is tempting for work to keep it charged and sync my outlook calendar.
Is anybody interested in cheaper version with only pogo-pin charging? It seems that pogo connectors are availiable from chinese producers, we just need to design the case and electronics I would throw in my 20 Euro for a good designed product.
Let me know if you are interested in kickstarted project.

I'm interested. I only want charging really, not bothered about a crappy speaker
Si
love the idea!
make it a clean design, and my money is yours
maybe a hdmi connector too? <- would pay more for that maybe as special version?
The main thing putting me off about this dock is the angle at which the device will sit, as far as I'm concerned it's far too shallow.
I agree with my Rotherham friend. I'm not interested in it doing anything fancy then
Charge the device
Make it enter dock mode
Look pretty
Si
I like it, I might get one for work, so I can clearly see my phone screen when I'm at work.
I'm guessing if the phones in the cradle then Sense 4.0 will go landscape?
I would buy a cheap dock for charging.... hdmi sounds good but I guess the cost will slowly creep up....

Si
a link please ..?
All docks that are available now use micro USB not the pogo pins! I thought about starting a project but I'm lacking electronics skills... A friend of mine can model the product in CAD and I could find a way to print a prototype in 3D but first pogo pin charging needs to be reverse engineered and tested. I think HTC may have added some kind of accessory verification...
Is there anyone who've bought this cradle already?? The want to buy one, if the connection between the dock and telephone is good. So if there is anyone who've bought it could you give a review??
