Strange SMS (Type-0?) from T-mobile to my 6E - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

As a new device, we have the T-mobile Name ID app running (10 days trial I guess)...
Few minutes ago, it captured two SMS messages that are not visible in the messaging app (so I guess those are Type-0 messages). The first message was "WP Dev" cert provisioning and the second message was: "OK, this is from WP Dev cert, I hope."
No trace to this message once I touched the notification that came through the T-mobile Name ID.
Did anyone else seen that? Do you have any clue what is the WP Dev? is it from inside T-mobile?

I saw the same thing. Weird.

Same thing here.
They are spying on us.

Same here. I promptly encrypted my device.

I also saw it on mine

Me too
Received it on my new S6 as well on the lock screen notifications and they promptly disappeared after unlocking. Couldn't find anyone else online mentioning this until this post appeared on Google.

sms delivery fix

Does anybody know of a program around like SMS Delivery Fix (http://www.saman-cz.com/ppc/drfovrw.html) that would show me the name of the person sended the txt message to (getting the info out of your contacts) that works under windows mobile 6 smartphone edition (or how it is called, the one that just got out from HTC for this device). It is really annoying to only see a number instead of the name.
Start--->Accessories--->Sim Manager
Menu-->Select All
Menu-->Save to Contacts
Now, go into Start--->Settings--->Call Options and uncheck show SIM contacts.
Your problem should now be solved
I doesn't show any contacts there, all my contacts are already in my "normal" contacts. But as soon as you get a message saying your txtmessage has been delivered it gives you a cellphone number instead of the name.
When? You mean in your sent folder?

when you have the delivery reports on it you get a message from system administrator " The message you sent to <telephonenumber> has been deliverd"
With the program linked in my first post you can change that, so that it actually looks in your contacts which contact belongs to that number and shows that name. Only problem is that program is for windows mobile ppc, instead of smartphone, so I'm looking for something similar.

Ahh, ok. I never use delivery reports since I personally find them annoying (the other person's phone essentially texts you back to say they got it and usually not automatically)

SMS display problem after 6.1 upgrade

Hey all,
I recently upgraded my Kaiser from WM6 to 6.1 using the official upgrade tool Vodafone UK supplied me, and all went without a hitch, so much so that I think I'm gonna try out Hyperdragon III while I'm on the "doing funky things to my phone" bandwagon. I have noticed one problem though, and I figure it'll probably be a problem when I reflash too so I'm trying to solve it now.
When I imported all my contacts and SMS messages (which I backed up using sprite), I though it was all fine. I opened my SMS inbox and watched as it built the threaded list, etc, and everything was good until I received a new message. The sender was in my contacts list, and had previous messages in the threaded view, and as intended, the new message added to their "thread". But as soon as it did, the thread had their number instead of the contact name as the title.
I did some experimenting, and this happens everytime I get a message from someone who previously had a named entry in the inbox, but if I get a message from a newly created contact, it works fine.
If I go into a thread from someone who hasn't sent me a post-upgrade sms yet, their name is displayed properly, but when I click on it (which should bring up a screen displaying their details), I get a message saying the number isn't in my contacts and would I like to add it.
Sorry if this has been answered before, I had a look and couldn't see anything.
Any ideas?
same problem too

Your text message cannot be sent.

I tried to sent a text message and, after a slight delay, got the following:
Your text message cannot be sent.

Is there some sort of app or registry setting that I could change that'd ask if I wanted to resend the message? Having to retype in messages is rather annoying.
According to this post Windows Mobile 6.1 added this feature but I don't see it and I'm running 6.5. Maybe the HTC TouchFlo 3D interface removed it?

It doesn't retain a copy of the message in your drafts folder, or outbox...? Whenever I get that message I can just pull it up from there and hit send again
Whenever I get this message, after trying to resend it a few times, I realize I tried sending a text to an email address.
Make sure the number has an area code as part of the number.
Just another possible solution.
Is it for all text messages? If its a specific number sometimes the persons number is disconnected

this is the correct answer...if you have a good signal and you get that error msg, then that person has not paid their billy bill...
This problem comes up quite often if you've flashed a different radio onto your device. If you have flashed a custom radio, try out another or stock. If that's not the case, you might be in a poor coverage area. Both are common culprits, but may not apply for you.
SMS doest go to outbox folder
I have the same problem
When I have no service coverage I would like to type sms messages and as soon as I get it make phone send them all out. But unfortunately, when I don't have service HTC touch pro 2 keeps trying to send sms out and after a couple of attempts gives me message that it was not able to send it. I have to click on each message and resend it when I have service. Instead, I want my phone to put all sms into outbox sms folder and send them all when I actually have service.
I know other phones perform this function well. I went thru all settings but couldn't get it to put sms into outbox when no service available.
Does anyone have fix for that?
Also having a similar problem
Hi all,
Same, or similar thing with me. I'm on Vodafone in the UK, and I've got a friend who is on '3' in the UK. If I text him with a new fresh message, and hit send, it goes to him no problems. If he replies and I attempt to reply back - then I get "Your message could not be sent. Try again?" underlined in red. Tapping on this just generates the same problem again and again.
I've tried his number with/without spaces in it, ensured his contact name has no non-alpha characters in it, tried his number in +447xxx format as well as 07xxxx - all to no avail.
It does not happen with any other contact in my phonebook and I end up having to let the message fail, then forwarding my reply to him, so it leaves my device as a new message.
Now, as it's the UK, its nothing to do with him having not paid his bill (we don't get charged to receive SMS in the UK), and I've got great signal (I work for a Vodafone associated company and we've got a cell on-site, so it's full signal of HSUPA for me).
I am completely at a loss to understand why this happens - I have other friends on '3' that SMS's go to fine, so I'm guessing it's not a Vodafone to '3' issue either.
Any ideas anyone?!
Adam C.
PS: Stock ROM running WM6.5, unlocked GSM, nothing odd about the configuration/software either!
...bump.
Anyone?
Thx,
a.
change your network setting for automatic to manual. and enable call waiting now your problem is solved. i was suffering from the same problem but now solved

[Q] elocity a7 app

I just got my a7 and cannot find the app for sms text messaging. I installed the latest firmwaree
I'm confused. How do you expect to text on something that has nothing but wifi/blue tooth?
The manual says go to messaging icon type in number you want to text to but i cannot find the icon and the specs say it can
There's no way it can natively send/receive sms.
The version that was originally submitted for fcc approval did have gsm but it was removed in the production version.
You've got me interested though, gotta go find my manual. Maybe they just never updated the book after they changed the hardware...
There was an iphone app (cant remember the name right now) that did text messaging through a service. Maybe someone here will pop in with an android equivalent.
Well, now I just feel ripped off. I didn't get a manual. All I got was a folded up "Quick Start Guide", a warranty card, and a pair of headphones.
I got the same thinng you did . I got the manuel at the elocity site. Check it out it seems to be a old verizon but it clearly states that it can.sent a e-mail but no reply34&

It can send email. The question you asked was about sms text though.
On the market, search for an app called TextPlus.
When i tried to create an account it force closed when I clicked the age button, but it can be used without an account.
Can send SMS and receive a reply, pretty sure it cant receive non reply texts though.
Tried Yahoo messenger as well, but the Yahoo SMS feature on it doesn't work for this tablet.

text message area code deletes itself!

this is the first time ive ever had this problem. I can text everyone in my contacts fine except one person, even other people on metro.
Im on sprint, they are on metro.
the area code works when sending a new text message and if you keep the thread on the screen but as soon hit the back button it removes the area code and gives an error when sending.
I ran into a similar problem today at work , but that person is also on Sprint
my dad and coworker have this problem also, i have yet to see it
nobody has a clue on how to fix this still?
I had this problem one time, but i could never replicate it. I'd suggest trying a new messenger (go sms is amazing).
Not sure how well this pertains to your situation.....
Here is a solution I found that works for me, to prevent the stock Android messaging app from deleting the area code in a 10 digit phone when creating a new text message from within the messaging app.
In google.com/contacts my cell phone numbers were saved like this +1 (444) 555-1234 changing it to +1 444-555-1234 resolves the issue for me. Removing the () parentheses solved the problem.
