[Q] My phones battery life isnt being displayed correctly? - T-Mobile LG G3

Im not really sure why, but my phone has been acting very strange for the past week. If I restart my phone it displays a different battery percentage than it was before. For example, I charged my phone up to 100%. Then when I restarted the phone, it was at 81%. I'm not really sure how to go about fixing this. I cant re-calibrate my battery because it will randomly restart and then have 5% battery left, then continue in a cycle of turning on and then restarting. Is my battery itself the issue? Or should I try completely resetting my phone by going back to the factory kmz file? I tried switching roms and I still had the same issue.
Heres an example of the ridiculous jumps in battery life after a re-boot.

Before you buy a new battery I would recommend using the tot over the kdz. If it still has problems pick a day you don't absolutely need your phone and let it boot loop until it completely drains the battery then fully charge it before you turn it on. Fully draining the battery is bad for it but if you might need to get a new one anyway its not a issue.

Seriously why does my phone do this!?

Some times when I reboot my phone my battery drops any where from 10-70% this happens on all rooms and all kernels. Is it just miss reading after reboot and I still have the amount of battery I had before I rebooted? Our does it actually get drained that much?

I don't want some one to say that after rebooting that its showing the actual correct battery % because that's total crap. If I had not restarted my phone it would not have had this battery drop our lost battery fast. My battery always steadily drains. The other thing is it seems like when my battery drops the remaining % of battery drains way slower of a speed. probably cause there is more battery than it is showing I so frustrated its nuts please any one and every one help me out. I need to solve this! Tia!

Maybe an overclocking kernel that you are running cause this. Sometimes this happens to me too, what i do is, i connecte my charger to the phone then reboot. Either it shows a higher % or stay the same.

To me, I think it is a miss read, on my Epic I would get the same results and I would be like what the heck? Lets say I was at 80 then I rebooted and it went down to 15 I rebooted again and it would back up to 70, so I try not to reboot as often cause if it goes down alot after reboot I might be SOL without a cord near by to bring me back up to life.
I also have done all the calibrate stuff on the battery, but every once in a while after a reboot I get the hard drop on %.

I'm definitely going to give this a shot. You both mentioned having a charger near by and it can't hurt. thanks guys!
Your battery stats need to be wiped.
HERE is a post with a easy way to do so. If you read the entire thread I wouldnt do as the OP did and flash EG12 Modem! Most users on EG12 have issues with calls not coming through while screen is off on the device, unless it is plugged into charger. Device does not "sleep" while plugged in therefor calls come through like normal.

***charging issue n7100 | experience#2 [resolved]

Hi Guys,
Got a problem here. This will be my 2nd Note2 after sending it back to Samsung couple of months ago. It was charging this morning and tonight after a long day of work, I decided to play some game on it. Noticed that the battery is on 15% I decided to charge it. After 30mins I checked the status of the battery and to my amaze it was not charging! I tried 3 different cables, 2 different chargers, and none of them works. Tried my cables and chargers to a different phones and it does work. I connected my note 2 to my laptop, and it does not recognized it. Tried to charge it while it is turned off, I can see a battery icon, but it does not show the charging battery icon. It will disappear in a few seconds. Please see image below:

It's a rooted phone. Tried to clean the charging port. I even opened it without damaging the warranty sticker, and I can definitely say that there's no moist inside. But just to be sure, I blow it using a hair dryer with the temp off. But with no luck. I used to experienced this a few weeks ago where went back charging after a few minutes. But this time it's worst, it's been an hour and a half and still it is not charging. I can't do a full wipe yet since the battery got 9% left on it.
I know that if it will really not charge, to resolve it..it's either I send it back again to Samsung, replace the board myself (hope it works), or buy an external battery charger. Unless there's more that I can do to fix it.

I did but to my amazed after leaving it alone the whole night, It went back charging again. Yes I am glad that it's working again but I am worried it might happen again sooner or later. I have read some threads with the same issue and with the same outcome, I really want to know what's behind this.
So if its under warranty unroot and monitor

[Q] Battery life is horrible, I don't know what to do!

OK, so after I upgraded to 4.4, my battery life started to suck. I've waited this long hoping for an update from T-Mobile, but nothing.
Usually after I unplug the phone from the charger, within a minute or two, the battery goes down 2 percent.
I really need help I tried a complete factory reset and wiping the cache partition but not luck.
Any suggestions are welcome, idk if these screenshots will help, hut here ya go:

No screenshot visible. ?
If running stock try connecting to Kies on computer.
Pp.
Sorry about the screenshots. I realized they were broken but I was heading into class.
I'm new here, so I'm not allowed to post links atm.
When I look under battery settings, it says in i have 3 hrs and 7 mins left. My battery is sitting at 81 percent.
I downloaded Battery Doctor, and it says I have 16 hrs and 30 minutes left.
I have no idea what is wrong, I'll try using kies.
Here are the screenshots.

Your problem is the Kernel and since you're stock you cant' change it. Sooo....... you'll have to wait on Samsung and T-Mobile to change it for you.
It could be a bad battery. The easy way to check is to put the battery on a flat surface and try to spin it. If it makes a couple rotations it's bad. Even if it doesn't spin it could still be bad. How long ago did you buy the phone? Do you have any other battery's? Could you let the phone run though it's natural course and then give us a battery screenshot? I recommend the Gsam battery app because it gives more information.

I have a similar problem. Battery goes down by 2-5 % few mins after I disconnect from the charger. However mine is ATT and it was running stock but I think its the batter if you are heavy user. Because my phone still runs for like 12-15 hrs in a single charge. I just rooted my phone and installing tweaked 3.9 so lets see if it does any trick I will let you know.
When I worked for Sprint Samsung devices would often have bad battery life after an update. A full wipe was always recommended.

Battery is draining without any major use

Hi
My cell battery is draining very fast. After full charge its not holding more than 6 hr.
Attached images. It says most battery is taken by system or Android don't know why.

I am in the same boat. I pretty much have disabled everything I can think of and have started carrying around a battery pack because of this. I pretty much have to charge my phone 2-3 times a day. I use my phone primarily for texting and listening to audiobooks. every once in a while I will watch some youtube but not that much.
That's why I had to give mine up for the Nexus 6p the battery life was getting ridiculous even with the fast charging barely helped the situation.
Weird. My battery lasts most of the day with moderate to heavy use. I disabled almost everything that I could in application manager.

that is more worrisome, phone is getting heated and sometime fast charging does not work, should I do factory reset and give another try. Just do not want to rely on factory reset every time I have issue.

For me the fast charging worked for about a week, and then the default samsung cable stopped charging quickly. Once I changed the cable the actual charger worked no problem but still it is annoying how fast this battery drains.

same here! I really regret buying this phone, seems impossible to get root on it, no custom rom, and the battery drains crazy! when I walk my dog & just put the phone in my pocket it's getting so damn hot without even use it!!

Weird things after battery replacement

Hi,
I bought a new battery to my phone. First battery i can not charge more than 98% (phone still show charging, and nothing), i return it to seller and he send me new one. At this time i can charge it to 100%, but charging and discharging is very weird. Sometime when charging, phone shows for example 32% for more than 30min. Somtime it show 23% and after 1min charging it show 57% then 46%. When discharging it show 100%, after some time it show suddenly 92%. First battery doing something like second battery, but little bit differently. Seller it big one in our country and i think, that battery is realy original (battery is made in 2017/11). With old battery everything is excelent, but it drain fast as it old.
Screenshot from weird battery stats are in links. (I donĀ“t know how can i insert image, so i am sorry for this)
So, is there something, what i can try or something what i can do ? Or i am doing something wrong ? Maybe my phone is bad ? Or new battery is bad again ?

MY new battery took a few charges to like be normal .
Also did the 10 hour charges about 3 times
