D855 not working - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
my phone is not turning on,not entering recovery mode, not entering download mode, not entering the hard reset mode, not recognised by the PC and not charging.
2 months ago i reached my phone and he had "black screen". took the battery out, turned the device on and he got black screen again. took the battery out again but it back in and turned on the device again, entered the menu and it got stuck. took the battery out and in,turned the device on and it happened again.
I wanted to reach the settings menu to restore the phone but couldnt get to it because the phone froze. so i decided to perform a hard reset.
I did this, the screen was black for 10 minutes (could see it is turned on), the the android logo was on the screen with a loading bar,and then the screen went off. waited another 15 minutes and tried to turn it on,and it did not respond.
what can i do to make it work?

Did you make any software modifications to it prior to the problem occuring

LG G3 Shuts off after boot

Hello everyone
So about a week ago I restarted my phone and all of the sudden after the Verizon logo appeared it shut down on me. I didn't know what was wrong so I went into TWRP recovery to erase the internal memory and start from scratch but that didn't work either. After the Verizon logo pops up it'll shut down. I can't restart it without taking out the battery. I tried to go into download mode and install the original software but that didn't work either. It'll go into download mode but then again it shuts off. The phone shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in the drivers and not LG. I'm guessing it's soft bricked but since it keeps shutting down after boot I have no idea what to do.
Hey Any solution yet? I've had a crap ton of problems with my G3 and just today, it froze, shut down and won't tun on without removing and re-inserting the battery...but the thing is after it the lg logo pops up for about 8 seconds, it shuts down. I can't even get into recovery mode.

Late reply but I can't connect to either wifi or data. The phone literally gets to the verizon screen then shuts off. I tried to reinstall the firmware but that doesn't even work since the phone can't stay booted for longer than 10 seconds. It won't show up in my computer.
Change the battery buy a new one guys
I have exactly the same problem. I had my LG G3 for over a year, sometimes it shut off after heavy use but yesterday it just started shutting off during boot, it won't pass the LG logo screen.
I tried putting 2 other perfectly working batteries (tested with other phone) and it didn't work.
Now it simply won't turn on completely!
we have to take it to LG about this, I didn't expect to have a high-end phone die just after the warranty expires just like that!
if anyone has a solution or a possible cause to this problem I would highly appreciate it.

OP3 rebooting to blank screen (with white notification light)?

Hi all, my unlocked and rooted (for the purpose of titanium etc) 5 day old OP3, running latest stock Oxygen is rebooting itself several times a day, but not rebooting back into the OS. It shows a blank screen and the notification light is lit white.
To get back into the OS, I have to power it down and restart. Sometimes it doesnt make it past the boot animation. It freezes, and reboots (again, to a blank screen with white notification light).
I've spent a couple of hours this morning wiping it (all apart from internal storage), and re-flashing.
The problem then got worse, as when flashing the stock ROM from recovery, or side loading it, the phone would reboot when it got to 90%. Whether I use TWRP (3.0.3-0), or stock recovery, I encounter the same problem.
I tried flashing a slimmer ROM (AICP), which flashed successfully, but I'm still getting reboots to blank screen with white notification light.
Any ideas?
P.s. I took a nandroid backup before encountering any issues, however the phone reboots (to the same state) when about 50% through restoring it.

I think I'll have to its pissing me off now, goes great for hour or two then I'll get this black screen 4 or 5 times in a row
I have the same issue.
I tried some ROMs (cm13, RR, OP3lite) and always the same.
I already contacted the support and they wiped my phone by taking a remote session through my computer.
I now have OOS 3.2.1 stock, not rooted.
I had a reboot since but I will let a few days to see if the issue is resolved

How long after the wipe/back to stock did it happen? after a bit of Google search seems to be happening to few sd820 devices
I don't know how much time after, maybe 6 hours later or so...
I had a freeze yesterday evening and had to reboot my phone.
Everytime it freezes on reboot and I have to wait 3 to 4 tries before the phone really boot.
Try to flash stock rom with unbrick solution. If ir does not help, apply for RMA ticket
I created a RMA ticket this morning.
My phone will go to repair center
I raised an RMA request on July 19th, which was approved July 20th, yet I've still not received return mailing labels from Arvato.
Not even slightly impressed.
My situation
Hi there,
This morning I decided to relock my bootloader to give it a complete stock-Android feel to it. I had already unrooted my phone at this point. It was then when I thought it was a good idea, since I unrooted it, to delete the BetaSuperSU rar file as well as the TWRP folder from my phone files. I then opened a command prompt in the AndroidSKDSlim folder and typed: fastboot devices, fastboot oem lock
And then I went on my phone and clicked the power button to confirm the locking. Since then my phone has not booted up yet, and I get no vibration when I press the power button. No button seems to be responding, but the white LED light is permanently on. What should I do now? My computer doesn't recognise my phone either!

Have you tried holding power and volume down for a few seconds without the cable plugged into the phone?

I received a mail yesterday evening saying that they can't take my phone and I have to do a factory reset.
I replied to this mail saying that I did multiple factory resets and even do a remote session with a oneplus tech support.
They sent me a mail an hour after with a number and the process to send my phone.

LG G3 D855 Stuck in Weird Bootloop...

Hey! Check the bottom for TLDR.
I have had my G3 since they came out (have the 2GB, 16GB RAM version), and even got the G4, but remained with the G3 since it didn't have any issues with rooting and recoveries...
Anyways, I was talking to my brother on WhatsApp yesterday and ended up checking out my Hangouts messages at the same time. I believe I accidentally hit the camera feature on Hangouts, and then everything froze. I could still talk to my brother, but I could not get to the home screen or even change from looking at Hangouts. I turned off the screen in hopes that I could get back in, but when I turned the screen back on, I could not log into the phone (I do not have a pin or password, it has no lock at all).
After a few more minutes talking to my brother, it suddenly shut off. When I tried to turn it on it went into a bootloop where the front light changes different colors, and the LG logo continues to show that shine going around the logo.
I was able to get into download mode and went ahead and tried to flash a KDZ as per instructions (I have done this in the past). The install would complete and the phone would give the prompt about updating all the apps. Once that was done, it would show the LG logo and again for about ten minutes. Afterwards, it would get stuck in updating all the apps again and performing the same process...
I also tried using the LG PC Suite and trying to "Restore upgrade errors", but every time I would click that option, I would get a Windows error that something happened and close out the program (it never recognized the phone). I then used the LG Mobile Support Tool, which allowed me to perform an update for the firmware. It too completed, but then went back into the process of updating apps, showing the LG logo, then looping.
The final thing I tried was doing a Factory Reset. I was able to get to the area, and when selecting yes, it immediately went to the LG logo and "Life's Good" sign, which it would never get passed. This is also what happens when I try to turn on the phone and wait.
I contacted LG, which was pointless, as I expected. They wanted me to go to a local repair shop, which is of no use to me if they can only perform the same things I have done.
TLDR: My phone can get into download mode and the Factory Reset area, but flashing stock firmware, or performing the Factory Reset, still leads me into one of two bootloop situations. LG PC Suite and LG Mobile Support Tool seem to be of no use.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I can try that I haven't?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Bricked LG G3

Hello guys,
2 days ago my phone randomly bricked itself. It wasn't rooted or anything, everything on it was stock (I've been using it for 2 years).
Before the brick, I had the screen flickering issue, my WiFi stopped working and the sound also (this happened during a period of 2 months) - during this period my battery started draining very fast, I could use the phone for max 2 hours per day (stand-by or use, doesn't matter).
So 2 days ago I ran out of battery and left the phone to charge during the night. When I woke up, I tried to turn the phone on but at first It got stuck at the PIN insertion, and after rebooting it twice it just got stuck in a boot loop.
So what I did was follow the TOT guide and tried to flash a stock rom. All went well until I tried to do a factory reset before initial boot - I got a kernel crash and my phone is unable to enter download mode since this moment (the loading screen shows up, and once it loads the screen goes black and my phone is recognized as qualcomm. etc).
At this moment I found about BoardDiag and used the software in order to try to repair my phone. Everything works well with BoardDiag, but once it finishes it's job reboots, I get kernel crashes yet again and I am still unable to enter download mode (It's like the program didn't do anything and the phone just reverts itself to It's previous state).
So is this a hardware issue or am I doing something wrong?
Anyone?

this is the best method so far.
replace your battery as known to cause corruption boot problems when dying
Also try this..... download LG mobile support tool and install + run, ignore start upgrade > battery out > battery in (dont power on) USB cable in pc not phone > hold volume up plug in usb to phone, you will get download mode in blue in box on phone > now on pc > LG mobile support tool > choose options then UPGRADE RECOVERY. will take 57+ mins to complete (over 1 hour) it might seem stuck frozen at 10% to 22% it's not just wait it out...

As I said in the thread, I've already tried this but when the phone reboots and when I try to enter download mode again the phone is not being recognized again.

Another LG G3 brick in the world

Hi everyone,
First to begin, sorry for my frenglish.
My lovely G3 seems to be bricked since few days.
5 days ago, after a reboot, it stucked 30 sec on the moving LG logo screen and turned off. I tried to enter into TWRP, I had the TWRP menu but it suddenly shut off again. My battery was getting old , so I bought a new one ( a Polarcell).
Now I can't even get TWRP. When I switch on, I have sometimes LG logo five sec, sometimes just a black screen.
If I connect on USB, the device is not recognised (error 43).
If I try the download mode, I have the first screen with "download" written in very small and after a few seconds: black screen and device not recognised.
I installed LG drivers, Qualcomm driver... nothing much...
I'm kind of desperate, can't affort to buy a new mobile phone.
If someone has any advice... many thanks
Fred
I entered again into TWRP... but maybe 10 secondes after the screen shut off....

Same thing happened to me, remove your battery wait 5 minutes, try again, it will last longer, also could you try flashing your latest stock rom with LGUP and report back? Mine doesn't bootloop only on latest stock.
Thanks, but the G3 was without battery during 2 hours.... I wonder how I will be able to flash anything :-/

You can try unbricking like this. Try to enter to bootloader mode without dealing with shorting the pins first, if you can make it enter into bootloader mode, you don't need to the short pins.
Thanks for the link, I had already read that but it's not very very clear. By te way, I think I 'll have to do the short pin because my G3 is not recognised as a Qualcomm, and USB keeps connecting disconnecting whend the screen is black.
