[Q] Sense Apps for vanilla/cyanogen

is there any way to get sense apps like the Music, camera, and phone onto vanlla phones or on cyanogen
I was hoping there was a way to get the dialer from a sense rom onto any stock rom. I actually may try that out later this week and see if it works (doubtful).
It requires sense framework for the Widgets as I've asked this before, as far as camera mods and what not I've seen that on vanilla roms but I'm sure there are geniuses that dwell on XDA that could figure it out.

Eventually, there will be hacked up ROMs with bits and pieces from every corner of the earth - I wanted the same thing on my Nexus (stock with the HTC cam) and there were a few options (though all had bugs here and there). Given the G2 was *just* permrooted, it might be a few weeks/months before you see some really creative ROMs.
Other stuff, like the lockscreen, can be changed with apps like widgetlocker and such.
You should definitely try out the Desire Z rom, though. It's all kinds of awesome, with new features that weren't there in previous versions of Sense. Hell, the camera app alone is worth it - makes the stock Android camera app look like a joke.
Sense apps have never and will never work on a non-sense based rom as it has far too much reliance on lots of frameworks (its a messy area).
The closest you will get is a rom like SuperVillain (out later today) that is a Sense based rom but with Rosie (Launcher) and widgets removed so looks like vanilla but still has all the sense apps working.
Keep an eye on villainrom.co.uk or the dev section here on xda for the rom release of SuperVillainZ

Enomther's TheOfficial has the option of both the HTC Camera and the HTC Music app - plus you can install the HTC IME (onscreen keyboard) easily as an APK (there's even a kitchen that lets you customize the colors and such).
Your sig claims you've owned 4 android phones. So you're obviously not a super noob. So my question to you is -
Did searching just not occur to you, or did you honestly believe you were not the 7,548th person to ask this question?
I am not asking about sense widgets because im aware that i need to have the sense framework running but im just wondering about the 2 apps Camera and Music. i know that enmothers rom gives you the option to install the 2 if you want and am just wondering if its possible to do the same for cyanogen.
also i have used the Sense Roms for the G2 but i was never really a fan of non Vanilla android.

A couple of apps may have been REBUILT to work without sense, but its not an easy job and certainly isn't something a lot of people have done.
the HTC IME keyboard was pretty much an entire rewrite of the code based on what the htc one looked like, its not the apk from sense just moved over.
I can't comment on the camera or music, but I imagine these are the same.

There has been a sense app ported to stock. Enom ported the HTC camera to his stock ROM for the Nexus... I remember running it.. That was a great ROM
Sorry, I see this has already been covered... But I know the app wasn't rewritten, it was a straight port, with the stock framework rewritten, so it was a straight app port

I really like the browser from sense, I use lpp for widgets so I'm good there. I asked about getting some sort of plug in for google translate onto vanilla browser and got nothing but flame. Hopefully gingie brings this to us... I mean is there any other plug ins other then flash? Honest question

[Q] Recommend me a ROM?

I have had a look through the rom's for the i9195 and can't seem to decide which to get.
My main problems with the stock touchwiz rom are:
Terrible battery life (Having to charge twice a day sometimes)
Occasional lag
Touchwiz itself, I prefer stock Android
So I want a good stock rom, or something customised with cool features which I can atleast get a day's heavy use from.
I'll miss the little things like saying cheese to get the camera to take a picture, anything I can do to get this back?
It must be stable.
Everything must work.
Another thing I want but doesn't have to be incorporated in the rom is a launcher that supports placing apps inside the app drawer into folders, any suggestions? Must have the look of the stock android or nexus 5 launcher.
Thanks In Advance

I'm pretty sure asking for recommended ROM is against the forum rule, but since your problem lies elsewhere, so here it is: You can stay with TW ROM and improve your battery life by using custom kernel. The CPU governor is the main reason for poor battery life.
As for ROMs, well there's a few to choose from you got to do some research yourself. But I prefer Slimroms since it bare minimum.
You're free to use any launcher as you please even on TW. Note though flash kernel or ROM will trip knox.
well..
look my friend is about what you looking for there are some rom for you taste but.. you can test carbon i a good one... MUIU v5 that a very customizable rom and have good battery life! ther eis a new one LewaOS im testing that one and very cool and smoth this phone have agood battery life so you can go for something customizable! other roms like LS or Cyanogen are pretty good tho! :good::fingers-crossed:

People using the GPE OS, how setup Google Now Launcher ?

I flashed the GPE ROM to my new HTC One M8, and it seems pretty awesome so far. This is my first stock Android OS experience since my Nexus 4 I sold over a year ago, so I haven't used stock kit Kat before, and this Google Now Launcher thing is all new to me.
- How's battery life on this GPE, compared to stock Sense 6 ? I also flashed the ElementalX kernel, but kept it all stock settings. Curious how this will last ? My Sense 6 ROM gave me pretty good battery life.
- Does everyone here run the GPE with the Google Now Launcher ? If so, how do you have it setup ? I'm worried about Locations settings being enabled, always thought that was a major battery drainer ?
- I am running Xposed framework with Gravity Box and GEL modules, for extra customization, without needing a full launcher like Nova, these modules allow me to keep stock Google Now Launcher, but also customize the grid size, and gestures, etc...
- Speed wise, is GPE faster than Sense 6 ?
- Overall how do you like GPE on the M8, compared to let's say the Nexus 5 ?
Is anyone running the GPE here ? What's your opinion compared to Sense 6 ? Or just overall how do you like the GPE ?

[Q] AOSP Dialer + Stock Camera

Hi!
I believe I know the answer to the question, but, is there any way to have both the AOSP dialer and the stock camera?
As far as I know AOSP based roms, such as Cyanogen, do implement the dialer but need LG drivers in order to have the camera working at it's best, which none is implementing at the moment (and looks quite hard to do in the near future).
On the other hand, Stock based roms don't have a way to replace the dialer as of now.
I come from a Nexus device and have been using Lollipop for some months now (since the first preview). I think the dialer is the best overall improvement of Lollipop besides material design.
But the thing about the G3 is that the camera is great. Being used to crappy Nexus cameras this is a whole notch above, and don't want to loose it. Mainly the video recording quality.
I wouldn't mind having either a stock or AOSP based rom. I've tried ChupaChups, Cyanogen, and am using now AN 6.1. All of them are working great.
Anyway I'm sure it's a matter of waiting a bit, development for the G3 is picking up speed.

Cant agree more with you. When im on stock, i miss the G Dialer so badly and when I go with AOSP, I just cant stand its ****ty camera. Now im on Chupachups but still longing for the dialer solution. Hope that one day Google will release its Dialer just as it did with the Messenger recently. 3rd Dialer wont replace the stock interface during call.
Have you tried any 3rd party dialer from Play Store?

[Q] Any way to get the stock Lollipop lockscreen on LG based roms?

Hey guys right now I'm running an LG based rom on my G3 (Cloudy 2.5). I went with a LG based rom as to keep the LG camera as I am a big fan of it, but I am really disappointed with LG's lockscreen.
Has anyone found a way to get the stock Lollipop losckscreen on LG based roms? So far I've searched over parts of XDA and reddit and had no luck.
Not that i have found. And i have tried.
I was running cloudy 2.5 on Verizon 985. Missing the stock voicemail and the mms issues. Cloudy 2.5 does have a better lock screen closer to lollipop that the stupid circle the others have. I have tried to port the lock screen from cloudy but I am missing something.
