[Q] Google Music app not compatible with my device

Hi,
I'm new to android and modding in general. I've flashed AOKP + gapps on my device. Some of the gapps would not appear in my app drawer no matter how many times I reflashed them, so I installed them manually from the market. The problem is this is not working for Google Music, it does not show up in the market on my device, if I browse to it on the market website, it says that Google Music is not compatible with my device because it is not available in my country (I'm in Canada) which makes no sense since the device shipped with the Music app installed on stock image. Anyone know how I can get it to work?

Although the app ships with it if Google Music isn't available in your country you can't download it from the Market. Same with here in the UK
Google search the APK and install it via a file manager on the phone

oh ok, I tried faking the market to a USA one and it still didn't work. I downloaded the apk and installed it manually and it's working.
One question though, shouldn't the AOKP or the gapps that I flashed already mean I should had got it without trying to download it from the market? do you know why some of those gapps like maps, navigation, etc did not show up at all until I downloaded them myself?

is this different from the gapps package that is available on the AOKP nightly build website? I'll try it out later when I get home, thanks

Important: New Gapps package is bare, so there is no legal trouble for anyone. Please do not ask us to include any extra apps. A wipe is required. I'm sorry if it's missing some apps not available in your country via the Market, but that's the exact reason we cannot include them in the package. This means Google Wallet is no longer included in. It will still work, but you must add it yourself. Thanks for your understanding.
Build 22 is still 4.0.3. Every single build and milestone is built directly from source. As such, we must wait for Google to release sources for 4.0.4. After that, we'll be working day and night to merge the new changes and bring you the latest!

07/28 - Google Play Store v3.7.15

Google is in the process of rolling out a Play Store update v3.7.15 which follows 3.7.11 and 3.7.13 from early July. The latest version doesn't bring any new features as far as I can tell, so we can only assume it contains under-the-hood improvements and/or bug fixes.
One such bug fix resolves the problem with Sprint devices that were previously getting stuck downloading applications on 4G and displayed a "waiting for network" message.

about Smart Update
I noticed that now the play store still download the whole apk when updating the apps, so the "smart update" mentioned by Google is still not happening is it?

[Request] Samsung TecTile 3.0.12

Can anyone provide the "Samsung TecTile" apk. Version 3.0.12 (Released on 23 Oct)?
It's market restricted on Google Play.

I can see only version 1.0.8 in play store, updated on 19-oct. But if you still want it, dl it here: http://db.tt/CeqRelBD

Seconded. The USA/Canada Only version is tyhe only one that gets updated for some reason.
and I can't see any reason why it's been restricted...

Can someone with Google Play Services 8.3.00 post the last 3 digits of the build?

Hi,
I was testing some battery life and decided to "reset/revert" Google Play Services and noted we're on the 448 build just in case of an emergency where Google Play Services wouldn't auto-update itself. I click "update" and of course ... it errors out when trying to update.
So, I went to apk mirror to get the latest build here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/
but noticed there are no 8.3.00 updates for the -448 chain/build. I decided to go with the -440 version since the Android version + CPU version seem like the most important things to replicate vs the screen DPI for functionality. So, now I'm on 8.3.00 (2353383-440).
Can someone who was auto-updated to 8.3.00 check the build number? (Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services -> Build is on top right) I just want to verify I'm on the same build and upgrade path as other 5x's. Thanks and reps in advance.

TCL 32es560 : Play Store app not updating itself

Hi everybody
I was struggling with the issue on topic.
Issue started suddenly and has never recovered since.
Current ATV version is 8.0.0
Play services update as expected, current version is 19.6.29
Play Store sticks to version 10.5.10 and reports itself as updated
Troubleshooting I made:
force update through play store's about page
clear data and cache in com.android.vending
clear data and cache in play services
clear data and cache in download manager
adjust date and time
cycle sign-in of Google account
went through two firmware updates, current version is V190
reset to factory
I've gathered a diagnostic log but I'm not sure if I can read it. What fail status , if ever, should I look for?
I've also tried to reinstall via apk taken from apkmirror, first I tried to version 11.x then went to 16.7.31, unfortunately that never resolved the issue.
Really , I don't know what else should I do at the moment.

I have the same model TV and play store is at version 10.5.10 and thinks it is up to date.

Hi again, the issue is still keeping on after a new factory reset. I've noticed that a new firmware version , V216 , has been released. Has anybody tried it yet?

How do you find out what the installed version is?

Do you mean the firmware?
On my device:
Home\settings\informations\contact us
If you talk about the version of the Play Store:
Play Store\settings\about > you'll see the current version.
As you may already know, if you click on the version and an update has been released it should download and install it.

I'll check fo the kernel update, in the meantime I updated again the firmware version from V190 to V216 and Play services updated correctly to 19.8.31 . Play store is still to version 10.5.10
I did all the troubleshooting that Google could offer and if I install an APK that won't follow the updates as well....help please!!

What are the benefits of updating the firmware?
