PXL Player [Music][Android] - Testing

Hello everybody!
I've been working on a music player built on top of a game engine (cocos2d-x) and written mostly in c++. The UI is visualized entirely through a dot-matrix, inspired by the early gaming days where resources where limited, and each pixel was sacred! (Fun fact: PXL Player's resolution is smaller than a nokia 3510)
I'd really love to hear your thoughts on the UI, and what features you would like to see integrated as a music player.
You can find the download link at my site pxlplayer.com or here: View attachment PXLPlayer.apk
Thanks, Niall

Some Features:
Gapless playback
Fade in audio
Customizable UI (Mono tones, Pixel shape / scale)
Playlists
Add to Up Next
Audio visualizers
Album art processing
4.0 - 5.0 lockscreen support
Proper CPU wake-lock management
Pause for a incoming call
Pause when headset is disconnect

The ui is great! But why the attachment is 6 KB only?

Hey thanks for the feedback! It's actually 6.9mb not kb, but I've just uploaded the latest [renamed version] which is less than 6mb. The benefit to this UI style is that there are very few resources, with the only resources being an average of 20x20 pixels. The UI resolution is smaller than a Nokia 3510 and this helps keep the app size really small.
Few things have been added to the latest version, menu searching, theming.. More importantly the next big update will connect seamlessly to SoundCloud.
I'd love some feedback on the name, 'PXL Player' or 'Dubbo' ?

PLx player sounds great

Now it's 5 bytes lol

That's so weird, I just downloaded it on my phone on two different browsers and it's the right size. What device / browser is that? Might just be the preview size is wrong

Speed City - Free full game from Microsoft (Full screen + touch)

Don't know if this has been posted before

You have to register to MS Total Access, but hey... it's free I guess.

The graphics look like they've been upscaled from VGA, so nowhere as smooth as the pictures would suggest. Plays well on Touch HD though, there's an overlay virtual gamepad (press the little [+] icon - can be moved around also) to control the game.
Cheers for the link!
Appreciate link. Will try later and post comments
Thanks for it
just download, it's free I confirm but for me don't like so much.... graphic are basic and the control are strange....
but thanks anyway

Don't Trust MS
Would tend to agree with bouya_k. Graphics are low and playability ok. Cheap version of Need for Speed IMHO, though it is free.
Same for me
Agree on the above: graphics are poor compared to NFS or Xtrakt and the gamepad is something you have to train for
Tnx for the link though: if you dont try, you'll never discover anything
Okay, just got round to installing and playing, as stated, graphics are low compared to games like xtrakt and nfs.
but still, its another game and it passes the time
again, thanks for the link
Thanks for the info!

[THEME] [WMP] [Update] Transparent Windows 7 Media Player V0.2

I didn't like the WMP, but its the only Player i can control with my Bluetooth headset, so i desided to make work for me.
So i had the idea it should look like another manila page (same Wallpaper) and have nice controls.
Tell me what you think about it.
Ideas on improving.
Update: Version 0.2
Now Portrait and Landscape, and Fullscreenbutton

[REQ]Sense 3.5 Clock (Thick Digits) für Sense 4 ?

Hey Guys,
It is possible to Port the Sense 5.3 Flip Clock for the OneX (flashable zip maybe)?
I think the numbers thicker much better.
Please no hints for other Clock-Widgets.
I mean the original HTC widgets (with flip animation!)

ok too bad.
Would be nice if it would go, but somehow in the future.
up up up
Use Fancy Widgets or Beautiful Widgets from Play store.
As I Know, this is the thing they try to streamline it. The flip animations was made posibble by stacking multiple layers, you can observed it by flip home screen to left/right a bit. Hence, someones claims it's the source causes heavy rendering that lead to desktop stutters, I agreed with the opinion.
It's Awesome Clock for me too, BUT i will choose to stay with sense 4.0 version. Perhaps, someones may try it on JB's project butter AND see how buttery it will become.
:victory:
JUST finished watching "For Butter or Worse" from I/O session, found out there is a new clipRect() to prevent multiple stack layers which mostly invisible to user from being drawn. GUYS from HTC may wanna look into that for SENSE being...

[APP] Audio Glow [NEW!!]

Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of live wallpapers. I love the idea, but in practice I've never found one that suits my taste and is compelling enough to stay on my device for more than a few minutes. That changed today with Cypher Cove's release of Audio Glow to the Play Store.
Audio Glow is actually a stand-alone app with a similarly named LWP companion which also launched today. The app is a music visualizer, which in itself is not so exciting. What makes this app exciting is that it isn't just a music visualizer – it's one that's beautiful, functional, and extremely customizable.
Basically, the app (or LWP, as the case may be) reacts to sound from any other app on your device (though its main target is music). It does this with colorful bars and little glowing particle specks that float around and can react to your touch. The app is simple in concept, and executed brilliantly with a ton of customization options. (Don't believe me? Just look at the screenshot on the far right below.) Users can change bar shape, color, particle density, whether bars and particles react to touch, the app's zoom level, its default music app target, and so much more.
In use, the colored bars bounce up and down as you'd expect, the particles drift lazily through the screen, and the artist name and song title smoothly slide together and apart.

This is a fun app, and an even better live wallpaper – one that can stand on its own even when no music is playing. Did I mention that Tasker and Locale users can use their saved visualizer themes and set them to trigger in response "to almost anything you can imagine"?

The best theme is the one that works for YOU. Everyone is different. Play around, create something. That's the beauty of Android.

Agreed.
OP - look at an app called Zoomper and Themer. There are so many that do many different things
Found this through YouTube: Car Home Ultra
It's not exactly a theme, but an app. Yes, it's free.
Check this out. It's not my work.
It's called : DIGITAL CAR.
I stumbled across a forum that had the beta release for testing some time back. Got in on it and works great for a dash install. Mine is integrated into the dash of my 2011 gmc sierra. And mounted to the face of a double din DVD player. So it folds out with the DVD players touchscreen when accessing the ad card slot and DVD. The apk looks like it's an actual car stereo. The center car manufacturer logo is inter changable and it has plenty of built in logos to choose from. You can load your own presets from diferent music apks or fm radio if you have one built in to your device. Or simply put you favorite apks in the preset spots. There is also multiple background images to choose from or pick from your gallery. YOU CAN EVEN FLIP FLOP THE LOGO TO A GPS AND SPEEDOMETER.
