Bump, annoying as hell. While we're talking annoying notifications what is that key and fob looking thing next to the wifi calling icon and how do I get rid of it?

You cannot remove that notification permanently unless you root.

i rooted my s6e, now tell me how to remove that annoying notification please

Root isn't required. Long-press on the wifi calling notification, tap the "I" button, toggle "block notificaitons" ON.

You don't have to block the notification! all you need to do is just tap on the notification, then select only use wifi calling when data isn't available. that removes the annoying notification, and only pops up when needed.

Add wifi on off in quick menu?

To save a lot of my battery life I have widget to turn off wifi when I'm just playing a game or reading. I notice on my 10 inch Lenovo tablet there is a wifi toggle on/off why isn't it there for the a100? Is there any way to enable it or add it on? I know I can use the widgets but If I'm already reading or playing a game it a PITA to have to go back to home screen just to toggle wifi via widget rather than just launching the quick menu to disable it.
The notification menu allows for the toggling of airplane mode. Is that sufficient? (Three clicks to popup, click the settings icon, and toggle the mode). I think there is a way to add an icon on the desktop for a single click. I need to look into that later today.
When you say "quick menu," do you mean the three button ribbon? I don't know how to add or remove anything from there, but I would be interested in learning. I would also be interested in hiding it or using swiping to toggle it. I will try to look into this too.
I used curvefish Widgets for one tap wifi on-off and autorotation lock. (not a fan of physical switches) I am now using Beautiful Widgets toggle switches for Wifi and rotation since it was only 10 cents in the market.

You're right I could just toggle airplane mode which should turn off wifi. I'm gonna see if this also turns off GPS. Thanks.
I think the wifi toggle doesn't exist in the 7 inch tablets. I saw a video of a flyer with honeycomb and it didn't have it eithrt but it did have airplane toggle.

The Airplane toggle does not turn off the GPS. At least, I use the GPS while in Airplane mode quite frequently (e.g. navigation apps, geocaching app, and etc.). There is a possibility that I am disabling the GPS with Airplane mode and then manually turning on the GPS when I activate a related app. I need to test that.

I looked this up (haven't tried it yet) and it looks promising. Of course, you have to go to the main menu.
I wonder if there is a way to modify the Android ribbon on that has the back, home, and switch app buttons. I believe you called that the "Quick Menu." Still need to look that up. I would personally love to remove the Home button (since we have capacitive Acer home key) and maybe add another button.

I just confirmed that toggling Airplane mode has no effect on the GPS. In order for me to turn off the GPS, I have to toggle the GPS setting.
Since this isn't a phone, is "Airplane Mode" nothing more than a WiFi toggle?
The Curvefish GPS won't show up on my list of widgets.
I downloaded the Toggle Widgets Pack which gives me a GPS widget that just sends me directly to the GPS settings rather than toggles it on and off.
The TW widgets for WiFi, Airplane mode, Bluetooth, etc do act as a toggle though. Odd.

I am pretty sure it toggles bluetooth as well. Of course, I have to look that up.
The bluetooth I dont really use and the GPS havent yet the need to use to so for now the airplane mode will do. Previously I was using a wifi on off widget in my home screen to turn it off now I dont have to leave any game or watching a video to turn it off. Thanks for the advice!
Np. Enjoy!

The best toggle app I have found is Widgetsoid2.x. It puts the toggle buttons into the Notifications menu, so to toggle WiFi off/on I just click once for the Notification Menu, once for the toggle, then click back to the main screen.

I used widgetsoid on my gtab before but i didnt know it can add those to the notification menu. I'll have to try it...thanks.
Just installed it...I see in the market images it can be added to android 2.3 or below. Can you show me how to add it in the notification bar on the bottom for honeycomb?
EDIT: It seems a big buggy an too redundant since you already have it in the notification bar also. Thanks for the tip though.

At this point I already have toggle widgets. But he mentioned an app that can add the toggle in the status bar on the bottom (atleast thats what I think hes saying). This would be better since it doesnt require me to go to home screen.

Thank you! Looking at the images it looks very nice and matches the HC quick setting perfectly. Widgetsoid was good too but I think was kinda buggy so I never really used it. Gonna try yours now. Thanks again......
EDIT: Just installed it. Love that it matches honeycomb and you cant really tell its an add on. It is someone redundant though cause it also shows a notification icon in the bottom bar. But I'm not complaining.
EDIT2: Found theres setting to disable icon in notification bar.

Screen on when receives a notification

Hi all!
When i'm receiving a notification, I didn't note it because the vibration is very low (with vibration intensity at maximum). For me it would be perfect that if the screen turns on to show that notification. Anyone know any way to do that? Thanks in advance.

i asked this question as well.but still have not got an answer.apparently its suppose to turn on by default but mine does not. i'm on the tmobile version if that makes a difference

I've tried to search something inside the config, but I didn't see anything. Do you know if the carrier hide some options?

lockscreen notification pull down

I'm a bit alarmed at the fact that I can pull down my notification drawer with fingerprints lock screen enabled. is this normal on stock touchwiz? If someone were to steal my phone, all they'd need was to pull down the notification drawer, enable airplane mode, then it's goodbye to all communications such as wipe lock and locate with device manager.
Definitely does seem to be a pretty significant security hole
It also unlocks if you eject the stylus with the screen off.

Nothing will happened if you lock you phone with fingerprint, pattern, pin or password.

As the previous poster said, if you attempt to make a setting change, it will immediately require the fingerprint or backup password. Otherwise it doesn't actually make the change.

You can toggle airplane mode and the ringtone volume. The op original concerns are valid as for someone turning off all communication to a lost or stolen phone...

Hmmm. That is truth. Is must be bug. They should work on this to prevent that to happend in future.
Note from Note V

Keep screen OFF when receiving notifications

I have a smartwatch and my beautiful phone has also a notification LED. Considering this, I do not want to use the lock-screen notifications at all.
Therefore, I turned OFF the lock screen notifications from the "sounds and notifications" settings menu but even now, in case of a notification or event, the screen will turn ON briefly. If the phone is in my pocket during that time and I have a trusted device nearby (my smartwatch) then the phone will unlock by randomly swiping the screen with my leg (large shorts ).
For the past few days I pulled out the phone in different languages, or with the tethering hotspot active or other randomly activated settings.
So, the 1000 points question is: how the heck can I force the 10 to not turn on the screen on notifications? I have no root and I do not intend to install one (company policy). Is there any solution? Thx.
Interesting. My screen never wakes up to show me a notification, so I'm wondering if it's app specific? I know with Textra, there's a setting to wake the screen for each text message, but I have that turned off.
It's definitely an app you're using that's turning on the screen.
I want my screen to turn on when I get a text message Im annoyed It can't

Thank you guys. It was indeed app specific. After you posted this I started looking in all the settings from all the apps with notifications access. The guilty one was Nils. There was a small switch to turn on the screen, indeed.
Thanks again.

Enabling 2g breaks notification panel gesture?

I enabled 2g in the mobile data table to see if it helps with my cell phone reception. Restarted my phone, pulling down on the Home screen no longer opens up the notification panel. Pulling down from the very top of the screen still works though. Disabled 2g, restarted my phone, the pull down gesture works again.
Anyone else seeing this?
I think the plugin Task Change was breaking it.
