[Q] Any way to disable the high volume warning? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Just picked up the white 64GB edge on Friday and I'm noticing that when I connect the bluetooth to my car's head unit, it limits the volume to 60 or 70% and I have to press a popup to allow the volume to go up futher. I need to max the volume on the phone and control volume through the head unit so this is unacceptable.
Any way to disable it?

Wanam for Xposed has an option for it. Not sure if it would work yet. Would need an edit for systemui somehow.

Doesn't this require root? And root is not stable on the edge yet.

For sure. I rooted and tried using wanam. Didnt worked. And the battery indeed draining twice + faster. I unrooted with smart switch by flashing firmware
Sent from my SM-G925T using XDA Free mobile app

Did someone find the conf where to disable this popup manually?

Wanam is not working on the S6 yet because it's dependent on Xposed framework which has not been upgraded yet

How did wanam work in background? Is there no possibility to disable manually ?

I saw HearingSaver in the app store linked in another article. Sounds like you do need to set after every reboot though. Anyone know if Tasker could be set to tweak those on boot?

[Q] Has anyone gotten the Optimum App working?

I have Cablevision/Optimum and they claim that you can watch programs and manage your DVR from the Optimum app. But I have repeatedly tried to get it working and it just force closes every time. I've tried on different ROMs, on Wifi, on Mobile. Nothing works.
Anyone ever got it working?

That's too bad. I'm using a ROM that I think has Xposed as part of the ROM, so it doesn't let me uninstall it. I would really love to get the optimum app working though. Maybe i'll back this ROM up and test it on my stock ROM I have saved.
EDIT: Dude, I've searched google for a long time trying to find a solution, and nothing. But thanks to you, I finally know what the issue is. The only problem now is, I don't really want to choose between Xposed, which I love, and Optimum, which I kinda really need.
another solution

just get into the xposed app and choose uninstall xposed from the xposed interface itself. then test and see if that lets optimum work
So it's Xposed causing the problem. I wondered why it works on my Note 10.1 and Nexus 7 but my Note 3 just keeps trying to load it. I can live with that. My Note 10 is much better suited for it anyway.

Xposed developer posted a fix for optimum, which would start the app, to control your dvr and such, but it didn't fix the live tv steam for me. Go to xposed and make sure you are up to date on the frame work and search IrdetoFix [1.0]. let us know if you can stream tv with it.
Do you guys have the problem with an error and flashing of the screen / stealing focus from other apps every second?

I haven't. My previous phone was an M7 running santod040's GPE. I'll bail on Sense on this phone as fast as I can, too. I assume HTC's app would need Sense to work, no?
Well I would hope I could eventually load a rom (once S-off is achieved) that has a good lock screen clock/weather widget other than the ones I am seeing even on themed versions that look like a 10 year drew it with a crayon LOL.
Load ViperOne and then download other ROMs that are ready and check them out
If root, unlocked and S-OFF, make a stock nandroid jic, ad away, edit the default xml to enable tethering.
I'd also be interested to find out if enabling continuous scroll through home screens and rotation of home screen is a simple default xml edit or involves something more intricate.
Also I feel the max volume of the M9 is significantly less than my m8 (I have the hardon Marlon mod). Sounds great...but through the front speakers it's nowhere near as loud...so I imagine I'd flash the H/K mod if available

Oh this is a good one. And the "Location Found" notification. Also superfluous. I have tasker set up to automatically dismiss both notifications as soon as they pop up so I don't see them but agree that they are dumb.
I would download Secure Settings so I could automate my phone further with Tasker. I hate having to go through the menu's to turn things on or off when I've had it automated for the longest time.

Day 2 Of My S6
Hi, all. I picked up my S6 yesterday, used PingPong and am now rooted. I have been on XDA since I purchased an Epic years ago, so I am not exactly a n00b, but I have two questions for @JoeFCaputo113, if you don't mind:
1) Which SQLite app are you using? Any recommendations among the paid or free versions?
2) Is there a significant difference between Flashfire and Flashify? I have used Flashify for years, but I a perfectly willing to learn new things.
Also, thank you very much for this and your other threads. I appreciate your contributions to the community.

Since you used ping pong to root. Then you havent tripped the knox counter.
So in turn the biggest difference between flashify and flashfire...
Flashfire = no trip flashes
Flashify = tripped flashes
Essentially they do the same thing. But flashfire has been created so that we can keep the knox flash counter 0x0! !

Data toggle and xposed, got it
some suggestions from my end:
- remove all sprint bloatwares.
- remove all google apps (since users can install only which they need from PS easily).
- data toggle, wifi hotspot.
- some of nice features: advance power menu (3 reboot options, screenshot), youtube adblock, etc.
- remove carrier label.
- battery life improvement.
IMHO, simple is the best.

What if I do the international boot animation and make a flashable to install the sprint one?
Please don't add in XDA labs (bloat)! But would love data toggle, new boot/shutdown animations, Xposed baked into settings, no sprint bloatware, and possibly a script to remove ALL bloat apps/script to install selected bloat apps (if the ROM will already be heavily debloated).
my wishlist - some (if not all) you probably already have built in;
-Remove sprint carrier label
-option to remove am/pm
-remove volume warning
-dark boot/shutdown animations
-add shutter sound toggle
-remove ItsOn (or anything similar)
-APM
-ViPER4Android didn't realize this was the same as DivineBeats
I don't know if this can be done, but on lp, you could set an app to open once or set it it to be the new default. Now, you can only set it to be the default. Would love to be able to set an app to open just once again, and ask each time.
I'm a sucker for a mostly stock base, so I'd liek to request to not add any new apps at all except for xposed, and possibly adaway. All other apps can be picked up easily from the play store.
I'd even take it a step further and say don't remove any bloat by default, and instead maybe add a optional script or options to remove specific items on install. Again, easy enough to remove bloat through TB.
Thanks for putting this together, and also asking for feedback. Much appreciated.
Put a auto APN config for rest of the world, no limit 160 characters in SMS
Please add long press delay mod to the stock keyboard. So we can change the delay from 500 ms (stock) to 200 ms, etc. MOAR ROM for the Sprint Galaxy Note 5 has this option. Thanks and look forward to the new ROM
To take off The status bar background on power saving mode. Thanks for the rom

Agreed.
My personal list from the current rom im on right now which is 5.1.1
Stock/ Rooted -
-Flashed Twrp then install snapchat to login and then
-Flashed Xposed Installer to gain the package
-Install 3 apks which were xinstaller to downgrade freely , adblock youtube verson, snap prefs
-Flashed the Hacker kernal - still trying to justify settings so it ahndles battery with perfomance tied together i had at least 4 hrs of battery life from this versus stock kernal with 3 or 3 and half battery life.
- packagae disabler, sjust incase the bloatware isnt turned off or removed like Sprint Apps, Update rom notification, Voicemail ( dont undestand when you can just call it who needs an app)
- a camera tweak for better picture/video recording like Cinema 4k but an actual camera mod using the stock camera.
so same settings as cinema 4k but a mod for the stock camera
- Viper Android audio mod! definitely helps a bunch.
mainly what i use.
I like everything u listed. Can u add weather on lockscreen as an option and hidden settings 4 tw launcher?

[Xposed] (Security) Disable Quick Settings Pulldown on Lock Screen

This is just a simple Xposed module that disables pulling down the notification shade / quick settings tiles while on the lock screen (but doesn't break media player controls on lock screen). Only tested on Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on Android 10 (more on this later).
Background: This has always been an annoying aspect of Android for me, and it's dumb from a security standpoint. Being able to pull down the quick settings tiles on a locked phone is dumb. Why hasn't Android natively built this in yet? Using this and Gravity Box to disable power menu on lock screen makes me feel a lot better in the event my phone ever gets lost or stolen. It's dumb that anyone can steal your phone and immediately toggle your settings (turn off WiFi, Mobile Data, toggle Airplane Mode, etc) and/or turn the phone off... I've been spoiled for years by the OG HTC devs (particularly LeeDroid and Team Venom) and their ROMs with these features baked in, so it's back to using Xposed to fill that gap for me and my wife, lol. Anyway, I pair these mods along with the Lockwatch app from Play Store and it gives me more peace of mind. Hey, anything to increase the chances of recovering a lost or stolen phone, am I right?
Credits / Technical Details: This module is based off of char101's published Xposed Repo module, and all credits and thanks should go to him. This is the first app / APK I've compiled so it was a nice learning experience, but it was all based off of his source and I really just needed to remove a few lines of code to get it to work properly with our phones. His mod worked fine and disabled the quick settings pull down on the lock screen, as intended. The problem was that it would also prevent media player controls from functioning (and I would assume other possible functions as well). To fix this, I just removed DISABLE2_NOTIFICATION_SHADE references from the code, leaving DISABLE2_NONE and DISABLE2_QUICK_SETTINGS untouched. The mod still works perfectly as intended. Only tested on Pixel 4 / 4 XL on Android 10. I'm sure it would work on other devices as well.
I really just did this on a whim for me and my wife's own phones and wasn't planning on sharing it, but I figure other people may have also wanted this for their P4's as well, so enjoy. Again, all thanks go to @char101!
Installation:
- Download .APK file attached to this post.
* If you have char101's original module installed already, I would highly recommend uninstalling it first.
- It's an Xposed module. Install the APK and enable in your Xposed Manager.
- Reboot and test.
Based on: https://repo.xposed.info/module/com.github.char101.qslock
Source for modified module: https://github.com/i5lee8bit/xposed-qslock-P4mod
Just noticed something that worried me at first, but turned out to be nothing of concern afaik, but in case anyone else gets spooked by it: I just noticed last night that if you launch the camera while on the lock screen, you can still pull down the notification shade. Same can be said for other apps that can be active over lock screen (e.g. Phone app during active call).
However, the quick settings are still inaccessible while locked. The notification contents that do show will follow the same rules as your settings, so if you have it set to hide sensitive notification content (which you probably should... otherwise 2-factor authentication is extremely pointless if your device were lost or stolen), you still won't be able to see the notification content itself, just that there is a pending notification for that particular app.
I hope you're finding the mod useful, for anyone who is using it. Please let me know if you find any issues with the module, thanks. I'm by no means a developer, but I have more free time than usual for obvious global reasons and it's a fun learning experience while the free time lasts. =)
I've been using the original NoQSInLockScreen, and while it did the job, it really bothered me that you couldn't use media controls on the lock screen (or expand notifications).
This mod took care of that problem. Really happy with it!
Just wanted to say thank you for putting it up!

Just wanted to let you know, as a fellow (now former) user of this mod, that I found a better way of doing this! So just thought I'd share:
Using GravityBox app for EdXposed framework you can simply define which individual QS tiles you want to secure. That way you still have access to the QuickSettings pulldown menu from the lockscreen (unlike this mod which disables it altogether), but things like Wi-Fi, Location, Airplane Mode etc. are secure and not accessible until you've unlocked your phone. It's a much more practical and elegant solution in my opinion.
Check out my post on this from Reddit where I describe the steps if you're interested:

Can't wait to try, does your mod support Android 11?

I completely forgot about this mod, haha. But thanks for letting us know!
As @nanquan mentioned (a long time ago, lol), you can also achieve (essentially) the same thing by using GravityBox. It is indeed a more "elegant" solution, and since I already use GravityBox heavily, I now just use GB's tweaks to lock down the main comm tiles.
But I'm glad this still works, for those who still prefer to use it for whatever reason. I can see it still being useful if you have a lot of custom QS tiles and want to keep it all locked down.
