[OTA ZIP+TWRP] HTC Desire Eye 2.19.401.1 STOCK Europe 5.0.2 Lollipop - HTC Desire Eye

Hi,
Enjoy two ways of flashing newest european lollipop for HTC Desire Eye
HowToOTA:
1) revert to stock recovery (skip if already have): fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2) flash ota zip
If you get red triangle this means that you have modified /system partition.
In order to get successfull flash you have to have unmodified /system partition.

Any special procedures to flash it if we're rooted with TWRP? Is it necessary to revert to stock recovery? Will we lose root after the OTA?

If you want to flash ota zip, then you'll have to revert back to stock recovery
You can extract it from ota zip >> firmware.zip >> recovery.img
and flash with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
You will lose root of course. But its easy to get it back.
To get root again after flash stock just flash again recovery with fastboot,
but this time custom TWRP, and use supersu-update-zip.
Voila

Thanks for the easy tutorial, man! A lot of people don't take the time to do it, appreciate it!
One more question though: this is only for the international version, not for AT&T, right? Also, what to do if, after flashing, you get stock on the screen with the red triangle and exclamation mark? I remember there are some combination of volume and power buttons, but don't recall what it is.
Is it also possible to flash stock recovery, then reboot to stock ROM, factory reset, and accept the OTA via system settings?
Thnks again mate

Probably yes, but I recommend to have backup,
and make full wipe after flash.
After restore of twrp you should also update firmware.zip
- radio etc. ! I will upload it also with instructions.

Thanks, everything has become good, has functioned updating.:good:

Hi!
I can't flash the radio via fastboot
fastboot oem rebootRUU works, but when i do fastboot flash zip 0PFHIMG.zip it says kinda
Code:

sending 'zip' (51775 KB)...

(bootloader) zip info parsing...
FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)
finished. total time: 5.113s
I tried it 3 times, and all 3 times i got this message. What can i try to do else to flash the radio?
P.S.> I cant open the 0PFHIMG.zip with 7zip. Is it ok? Tried to redownload it twice, but no luck again

Your download most probably is corrupted. Im adding md5 checksums right now - check it.
I downloaded again firmware zip, and can extract it without problems with 7zip.

[Q] HBoot Relocked, S-ON, Root, trying to upload stock ROM

Hello,
Im having reallly big problem with my Desire HD device and unfortunately,I realize this is only my fault and inadvertence. Im hoping that someone will help me with my problem...
First of all, I've had stock 2.3.5 on my device and every possible blockade. I've used Downgrade_v2 files (with adb and Gingerbreak and 1.32 stock android) but it wasn't working as it supossed to do. I've found nice tool to unblock DHD, called EasyAceRootTool. Everything went OK, new H-Boot was uploaded, unblock process went smoothly, Revovery Touch was uploaded to DHD as well, Superuser was installed too.
And at this level I've hurried too much, because I've installed by recovery new rom on Android 4.0.4 , this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839004
And of course... I know now iVe forgot to make S-OFF, android doesn't start, nothing happens at all....
My Hboot now says :
Hboot :

HBOOT-2.0020029
RADIO -26.14.04.28_M
Ive tried a lot of soutions
1)Install PD98IMG.zip on sdcard (2 different stock roms) but when Bootlader is checking image, it says, that newer android is already on device
2)Install RUU, It says that there is a problem with Hboot and i need to wait for upgrade
3)Install PD98IMG.zip (pulled out from stock RUU) by recovery, it says that this image is "bad"
4)Restore backed up adnroid from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920876&highlight=hboot, from section "Install stock Vodafone ROM", but it didn't helped as well, it says MD5 checksum failed...
5) When im trying to unlock Hboot in EasyAceRootTool, it communicating with device, but then it says : "Your device is not recognized"
Please guys... what else should I do ??
ps. I know there's a lot of grammatic mistakes, sorry for that. I was trying to check what I was writing

Wait, no. Flash the ROM from recovery. You can't flash zips like that in fastboot. You can flash ROM images, but it makes more sense for you to get a recovery and flash zips instead.
If you don't have a recovery, first you need to install one. If you have a rooted ROM, you can install a recovery from apps: ROM Manager for ClockworkMod, 4ext Updater apk (from 4ext's website) for 4ext, and GooManager for TWRP. If you don't, download a recovery.img and flash it from fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
.
If you do, just go straight to flashing the zip from recovery. Then,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

What are you trying to do?? If you have an unlocked bootloader a RUU will never flash. Besides, being S-ON requires the specific RUU for your device.
If you have CWM and an unlocked bootloader, you can flash any custom rom in recovery but need to flash boot.img after flashing the rom.
You can't flash apks in recovery, only zips. Then fastboot flash the boot.img.

if you will not update firmware with radio, then it could not work 100% properly - network signal, battery, wifi, sound etc etc.
its always recommended to flash main firmware + proper radio.

I have downloaded the OTA file from the settings menu of my phone. But my phone is on stock rom and TWRP 2.8.4.0. Is there a way that I can still update to lollipop 5.0 using TWRP and the downloaded OTA file? Whenever I click the install now option it will boot up into TWRP, then when I click Install and point to the zip file downloaded by the OTA, there are multiple errors.
Please let me know what are the best options for me to update since I do not have an access to a computer. So the only way is to update through my phone
EDIT: I found the downloaded OTA location. It's in SD CARD download folder
You'll have to restore a lollipop nandroid for your variant. You can't use TWRP to flash the ota because you need stock recovery.

i'd relocked bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" and it's still FAILED the same.
i download zip file from "www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads" i don't know what it is for, i just tried, seems like there's no solution for 1.17.707.9. RUU, fastboot, nothing works:crying:.

You have relocked the bootloader then flashed the zip file uploaded by the DEV in the 1st post in the thread? If still failed put it on your SD card (don't rename the zip!) and boot into fastboot. It will ask you to install it. If still not working, flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-eye/development/rom-beatmod-desire-eye-android-5-0-2-t3094559 from recovery after re-unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP. It is based on the Desire EYE stock lollipop + Sense 7 apps from M9. You will sure like it. Sorry for my English, I'm Egyptian.

why not just use a TWRP backup instead of ther OTA? that should work... IF you updated the firmware already.

how to root HTC Desire Eye
Can you make a video explaining how to root HTC Desire Eye , I already downloaded all the required files from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-eye/development/ota-zip-twrp-htc-desire-eye-stock-t3082435 but I still don't know how to root it :\
I really need help

[Q] [Solved] unrooting?

I've read around on the forums here and other places but some of it doesn't make any sense to me and I watched a YouTube video about unlocking the bootloader then rooting the phone unfortunately i didn't do a nandroid back up before rooting (using supersu) and i am wondering if it is possible to flash to a stock rom so that in the future i can ota update in the future.
here is what i have at the moment
international phone (im on o2 in the uk anyway)
android version: 5.0.2
Software number: 1.32.401.15
unlocked bootloader
rooted
s-off
SuperCID
Also if someone can guide me through this i would be extremely thankful.
Thanks for your help guys.
You would need to either get a nandroid of your particular carriers ROM, or download the correct RUU from HTC.

your using the wrong fastboot
you need htc_fastboot >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=96039337900114016
it's also easy to rename the RUU.zip to 0PJAIMG.ZIP, place it on a ext sd card formatted in FAT32 (a 16 or 32gig one should work), reboot into DOWNLOAD_MODE, agree and it should flash.

ok managed to flash it back successfully couple of things though:
i couldnt copy the file when it was named 0JAIMPG.ZIP to the sd card (was in the phone not sure if i had to take it out and put it on)
it still says "software status modified" "unlocked" "s-off" afaik you can't get software status back to normal, to get unlocked back to locked would mean me relocking the bootloader and s-off shouldnt matter with ota update?
if i was to now re-install twrp but before rooting i took a nandroid backup would this allow me to get ota updates if i then restore to that after rooting or would one of the things above prevent me?
if not is there anyway i can get ota updates again?

If you used the htc_fastboot to flash it will not reset the modified tag
you have to do it yourself >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/how-to-restore-software-status-original-t3092882
To set unlocked to locked you have to do this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/how-to-lock-unlock-bootloader-htcdevs-t3092036
and yes, you can get OTA update with unlocked and s-off
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out and providing links I am very grateful

Just leave it as htc_fastboot. They can coexist.
Dude, what's it tell you after you get the error 90? Flash again immediately, right? EVERYONE gets error 90 when flashing firmware. It's a pre-check before actually doing anything. If you're phone reboots to OS after getting 90, then just leave your command/terminal window open and put your phone back in download mode and re-run the exact same command to start the flash again.

I'm sorry to tell you but if you updated to 5.1 and did not go into developer options and check to allow bootloader unlock, and then locked your bootloader theirs is nothing you can do but flash a RUU. Are you s-off ? If no your most likely stuck.

With S-ON it's not possible to downgrade or to flash RUUs that were made for other SKUs (Taiwan is 709 and Hongkong is 708). Since you can't use the RUU in my AFH folder because it's older than your actual firmware and there is no other RUU for the SKU 708 (or at least none I know) than that one you linked your only hope might be the RUU service on llabtoofer's website.
Edit @clsA: That file amit_coolcampus mentioned earlier is one of the OTAs for the Hongkong version of the M9.

Honestly, I don't know. I've always been able to recover my phones without the help of the HTC service center or the RUU service. My guess is that the RUU service might be cheaper but that's only a guess. Maybe someone else here had to use one or both of these services and can share his/her experience...

[Q] HTC One M9 Dev edition update question

Hey guys, I just received notification about update my htc to 5.1. However my htc one m9 is currrently rooted, unlocked, and s-on. If I update my htc without unrooted and locked my phone, will it be bricked? And if it works, after i update it, will root be lost ?

You can't take an OTA when rooted. You won't brick your phone but it just won't work. Did you follow the instructions in the TWRP thread when you installed it to make a system IMAGE backup prior to rooting?
See post #3 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3066720
Otherwise, you will need to run the Dev Edition RUU to return to stock (caution: this will wipe your internal storage) before you can take the OTA.
Or, you might do a search to see if anyone has a system image backup you can restore using Captain Throwback's instructions in post #3 above.

5) reboot phone to download mode

7) type "htc_fastboot flash zip <NAME OF ZIP.zip>"
8) Wait until the process completes
You are now back to stock, but will have an unlocked bootloader
Boot into system and try to download and install OTA. If it fails to install, i think that means you need to re-lock bootloader (boot to download, "fastboot OEM lock"), then try to download and install the OTA again.
Once the OTA starts to install, be patient. It takes a very long time (maybe 30 minutes or more).
After the update completes, you should follow the instructions in post #3 of this thread to make a system image backup so you don't have to wipe everything to take the next OTA. If you ahve any questions about that process, you should ask them in the TWRP thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3066720)

First, what file is that? You need to flash "0PJAIMG_HIMA_UL_L50_SENSE70_ATT_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.32 .617.30_Radio_01.01_U11440221_62.05.50320G_F_relea se_427069_signed.zip" first. It's OK to rename it, but make sure you know what you're flashing.
Second, flash in download mode, not ruu mode. "Adb reboot download"

Bro. Put your phone in download mode. I feel like I've said that like ten times. Is even in the error you received.

Does it boot into system right now?
Sorry, I know it's frustrating and my device is a-off so it's not exactly the same.
I just researched that last error and I think I was wrong about using download mode. I think if you're S-on you so in fact need to use ruu mode. And I went back and looked at the error you ran in ruu mode and that's a normal message and you just needed to rerun the flash command.
htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
htc_fastboot flash zip 0PJAIMG.ZIP
(If you get error 90, repeat the last command)
I think last time you repeated the flash command before the device was back in ruu mode.
Edit: but this would be so easy if you just get sunshine and S-off

I'm complet stock exception the S-OFF so I don't see a reason that I can't upgrade

Lol xD you can't flash this that easy in fastboot not download mode xD you have to either name it to MID number .zip or download it from directly on the phone and let it install . Stock recovery mandatory if you flash this way. There is a way with TWRP, but a lot more to do

thanks for your answer
"download it from directly on the phone and let it install " i cant because the phone give a error "Can't update software. There was an unexpected error and the file f system may be corrupted. Please contact HTC support"

to you have some other sugestion?? I have stock recovery because i flash a RUU.EXE
Ps- also try flash in recovery doing UPDATE FROM SD but give a signed error

try the sytem image. worked for me too. sometimes something is broken and with an untouched system image you can install the update again. or just get latest system image and no need of installing the update anymore xD
but let me ask again. your phone is s-off, with locked bootloader right? normally after a RUU you should be able to either install it via downloading directly on the phone and install it there. or you should be also able to flash it like anyone else through either download mode when renamed or even in stock recovery. you can try to boot into stock recovery, apply that zip for installation. maybe that works for you. if you try a full factry reset throught fastboot or stock recovery. I forgot what I exactly did. but one of those steps helped me
answer your question YES i´m S-OFF and LOCKED and STOCK RECOVERY.
"normally after a RUU you should be able to either install it via downloading directly on the phone and install it there. or you should be also able to flash it like anyone else through either download mode when renamed or even in stock recovery"
fully agree with you but i cant i just do it all and nothing work
After Flash RUU.EXE i do a factory reset in stock recovery but didnt help still can download in the phone
"you can try to boot into stock recovery, apply that zip for installation" i did it and the result is "signature verification failed"
just dont do a restore system image in TWRP because i think the result was the same that flash the RUU but maybe it isnt
any one more sugestion that can help?

Find and Download the RUU zip file instead of the .exe. rename the RUU zip to 2PS6IMG.zip, place on ex sdcard, boot to download mode and press uo to flash. The RUU zip has never failed for me as i can take OTA's straight after.

The ruu.exe works for him, afterwords he just can't install the it's because something is triggered.
@ OP did you download the zip, go into data/data/updater.htc-something folder and take the zip. You need either root or custom recovery for that. And try to flash that. If you've done that already. Don't know just get either latest ruu if finally available or take the system image of the latest and restore it. For some it works for some not

Yeah i know but something isnt right as after flashing RUU he still cant update which to me is very strange. What i ment in my post was after flashing an RUU you should be able to take the ota and using the RUU zip has always worked for me to do that
Try go into stock recovery, there shall be an option to sideload OTA file, then use adb sideload OTAfile.zip, this is how I manually apply OTA.
also check the md5 to see if the OTA file is correct.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73528777&postcount=2188
also try 401.3 ruu to see if that help
