No. Will not be possible even in future because no one is working on it.

There is a huge thread about this sticky at the top of the M8 General forum section, if you want to know more.

You should probably start your own thread your problem has nothing to do with firmware with s-on

[Q] HTC One M8 eye root

Hi All,
is there a plan to create a rooting process for the HTC one m8 eye. i recently bought this phone and was wondering if the Htc one m8 process will work the same on this device as well although its missing a certain components from the htc one m8(nfc, IR). Any developers looking at this device currently from a root or Custom ROM perspective?
I think there has been an issue in general rooting Android 4.4.4, even for "standard" M8 models. Once this gets sorted out, you should be able to unlock the bootloader through HTCDev.com and apply the working root method.
Hi - did you manage to root your HTC One M8 eye - I currently have this phone and need access to the Google play services?
Thanks
Naa havent yet. Dont have a clear process yet for it.

somehow i am not sure it will be out soon. the device is available only in India and China so not a big user base to go for it. Also without IR and NFC cant use the same custom roms as m8
NFC and IR

Just to confirm for everyone. The HTC M8 EYE doe have NFC and IR. Bought it yesterday in China and have linked it up to two TVs. I hav not tried NFC but it says it is turned on so I assume it is all good. However the phone is Chinese, missing Google play and with an almost non-functioning version of Blink feed. I would be very happy if I could change the ROM to the Indian version. Anyone know how?
Can anyone please help on HTC One m8 rooting process, I bought one from India.

AICP ROM for HTC M8 also on M8s?

Hello everybody,
at the moment I am searching for a new mobile phone and my currently favorites are the HTC M8s and HTC M9.
For the M9 there are no custom ROMs out yet and for the M8s also. But I am wondering if I can install for example the "AICP ROM for HTC M8" (=Android Ice Cold Project) on the M8s. Or maybe the "CyanogenMod for HTC M8"?
I know that the M8s has an other architecture (64bit) then the M8 (32bit). So I think this is not possible.
But are there any HTC M8s ROM's out there?
greetings,
Chriss

thanks a lot for the fast reply. But I already found this thread. It seems the only one for the m8s and I am wondering, why ... the "big project sites" from AICP or CyanogenMod does not even have a category for the m8s.
Should I better refrain from buying the m8s?

If you want to mod/custom rom a phone than indeed don't buy the M8s. Support is little to none !
The M8s came after many people got the original M8 and then also switched to the M9. Not many switched from a M8 to an M8s.
I think you answered your own question already

Yes it does. If you did read there you can see there is no progress at all in converting a Android M8 to a windows phone !
So actually the thread holds the exact answer for you.
Crap wrong link......

Anyway.....it should be easy to find after all because it's pinned on top in the general section.
Cheers.
