That's nice but the problem is Android has that wallpaper scrolling feature so it needs a wide image, not a tall narrow (WVGA) one.
For a Samsung Epic you actually want a 960x800 image. Of course anything that is at least that large in both dimensions should work, you'll just have to crop it. So 1280x800 (a common size) is fine as long as you don't mind cropping off parts of the sides. 1024x1024 iPad wallpapers should also work great, and again that expands the range of wallpapers available to you.
You can search Google for 960x800 as well as 960x854 (Moto Droid resolution). I also like InterfaceLift for wallpapers, some really nice looking landscapes and stuff there. Available in a lot of sizes - just get anything that is at least 960x800. The smallest images available at InterfaceLift that are bigger than 960x800 are the 1024x1024 iPad ones.

[Q] Wallpaper cropping, how to avoid upscaling?

Everyone knows that when you apply a wallpaper with the default Gallery app it crops only a small part of the picture. Hence your wallpaper will most probably look somewhat blurred because it's been scaled up to fit the screen.
The overall resolution of Galaxy Nexus is 720 x 1280
Resolution without the navigation bar is 720 x 1184
Resolution without navbar or notification bar is 720 x 1134
1134 pixel height is huge. Even a 1080p picture would need to be scaled up a few pixels. But because Gallery crops at least 10% off both edges the original picture would need to be much higher than just 1134 pixels to have no upscaling and quality loss.
So I was wondering if anyone knows what is the exact size the picture should be to get no scaling at all when applying a wallpaper?
I know I could use 3rd party apps to avoid cropping but I'd like to know how to do this with the default app.
I do believe that (according to many sources, like some wallpaper threads in this forum) the proper size is 1440x1280. Almost all wallpapers that are found in the Themes and Apps section are already resized to this size to fit your nexus.
EDIT: I forgot to add that in order to use the whole image, drag the cropping square to fill up the whole image when you're using the size I mentioned above. That would guarantee no upscaling.

If you follow previous pattern for wallpaper this should be correct. There's also a ton of high res wallpaper sites that have higher res images. Don't think only in 1080p, ton of PC users are on 2560x1600.

Thanks, but i definitely think we'll make it much more better. Especially with new panoramic modes.
I'm wondering how beautiful it is, almost every image becomes look 3d. If we add true 3d weather on it - it will be just fantastic.
So it's best to get Colour screen? Is that the one your gunna merge

Currently they are different. Panoramic creates 3d panoramic effect from any image, Coloring Screen allows to change wallpaper colors and animates weather, time and season.

[Q] High DPI Wallpapers

I'm having a hell of a time finding high DPI wallpapers for my S4. Usually I just go to wallbase.cc for wallpapers, but without a DPI meter I can't find any wallpapers that look as crisp and sharp as the default Samsung wallpapers.
Anyone have any ideas?

What I did is set walkable for 1920x1080 or 2200x1440 and I looked for textured images. Then I rotated them to mirror the S4 screen and set it as a wallpaper. Looks pretty legit.

I'm not sure if this relates to your question, but I just posted a thread on how to do customer HD wallpapers for those who aren't familiar with making customer wallpapers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41310209&postcount=1

Wallpaper resolution

Hey Everyone,
I just bought the Tab S 8,4 LTE version, and i got a little issue. I know that the native resolution of the display is 2560x1600. I don't like the stock wallpapers. I downloaded a 2560x1600 wallpaper and installed it. However when the device is in vertical position there are black bars on the display (the image is not full screen). When i flip to landscape the wallpapers is fine. Please help why this is happening. I do not have this issues with the stock wallpapers. Do I have to download a different size. Thanks everyone in advance for the help
Try and app called quickpic. It lets you set a wallpaper to your whole screen res. I dont see any black when portriat with it.
Your native resolution isn't 2560 x 1600, it's 1600 x 2560......think about where the home button is on both models and that tells you the 'natural' wallpaper mode for that model.
Wow, just found apk Image 2 Wallpaper. Gives you perfect fit!
