Display differences - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Has anyone noticed difference in display between few different phones (All Galaxy S6 Edge). I got my Galaxy S6 edge recently and the display looks little dull compared the M9 and the iPhone 6 I have. Especially the white doesn't seem to be white. So I went ahead to the BestBuy store and looked at the Galaxy S6 and Edge in stores. Most of them were brighter that what I have. I was wondering if getting an exchange is advisable in this case. There is nothing wrong with the phone, I just liked the display on the other Galaxy S6's in the store.
I have also tried with different calibration settings and still dull compared to others.

Comparing the screen quality against Sprint SII

So I picked up a T-Mobile Galaxy S II today. Wife has the Sprint version of this phone. They both have the same size display. Same resolution. Same display technology (Super Amoled Plus). So they should look about the same. Right?
Unfortunately for us, they do not. The Sprint version has a much better display. The contrast and the colors are simply better there. The text is easier to read.
See the attached comparison shots. T-Mobile phone is on the left in both shots. I turned brightness of the display all the way down on both phones. In the first shot, both phones are displaying blobs.jpg, posted elsewhere in this forum. The T-Mobile phone shows ugly bright lines and dots. And the Sprint phone shows a black screen. Exactly what I see on my PC.
The second picture shows the washed out colors of the T-Mobile screen compared to the Sprint phone.
I am quite disturbed by this discovery. I cannot explain the discrepancy. Can anybody?
I am also of the opinion that every T-Mobile S II user suffers from this defect. Some people simply do not notice it. They would have to put their phone against a Sprint unit to see the difference.

How is the display on the Note 2 compared to others coming out??

i've had the Galaxy S3 for a while and the screen was pretty good, with the HTC One X's screen beating it by a little amount only because i dont like how LCD's blacks aren't pitch black (off). But the colors definitely beat the GS3's. I heard LG's True HD IPS is even better than those but i'm wondering how much better than the Notes new Samoled where they pretty much get rid of Pentile? Will the new LG Nexus display be that much better or how about HTC's sharp 1080P display coming out? If the difference is minimum i rather settle for Samsung. Aslo, have they taken care of the low brightness whites? because they were very grainy and gray on my Galaxy Nexus
I just tested a Note II today in a shop. The screen looked great but I am a bit concerned that on full brightness it was less bright than my Galaxy S II and the whites looked very greyish.
there are at least two threads already existing covering this topic, please search!
in short: it's again the luck of the draw. had 3 note2 devices so far, one display was terrible (yellow tint),
the other two had pixel faults and/or dust particles between the outer glas and the panel!
my 4th device will arrive tomorrow (from amazon.de), let's look how that one will be...
i have to mention that most people are not aware of these flaws, especially about the tint. it's because
they have no other note2 devices to compare, or they do not care as much as i am!
if i pay 600EUR for a device, i want to have a perfect screen!

[Q] Who else is getting the dingy yellowish white color problem?

So my Note 2 and some others are experiencing dull and yellowish white contrast as talked about in this POST. Also this POST shows the Note 2 being much brighter. We've tested this with both units on high brightness and dynamic mode on, with the browser brightness all the way up as well. I even did a hard reset, and the low brightness dingy whites are still there on the Note 2. I'm looking into returning the phone for a replacement through the AT&T store I bought it from. Most people don't have this problem on their Note 2's so it seems like its only affecting a few units, but we need to get this out in the open. Maybe there are two different panel types shipping out. Please check and compare your Note 2's white's brightness compared to other Note 2's and other original notes and report here.
I'm also seeing the same dirty white screen. I might go to the local AT&T store to compare it with another Note 2 if they have a demo unit. If anyone can do this and get side by side comparisons I'd like to see this. I hesitate to do a replacement because they are probably only going to offer a refurbished unit as a replacement and the chances are it's going to be another unit with the same issue.

The AT&T store said they would order me a new one. When I called customer care (611) they would only offer a refurbished phone. So stick to the exchanging it at the store. The store I bought it from doesn't have any more in stock but are willing to order me a new one.
You know what stop comparing note 2 to other screens. Every screen has different color calibration and software versions effect this.
My first phone was galaxy s1 and the screen seemed fine since I had no other phone to compare but I compared to my ipod touch 2nd gen. Sgs1 had blue tint. Then I got sgs2 and the screen was very purplish compared to my friends sgs2.
I was obsessed to get the perfect screen so I changed it 5 times. 1 for the dead pixel and 2nd for the white spot on tje screen and the last 3 for the purplish hue. 3rd phone was really purple and obviously something was wrong. And I checked all the phones that are on display in various stores they had yellowish hue. But still compared to sgs1 it had warmer whites. Now I have note 2 and I recently put all 4 of them side by side and compared.
Sgs1: cool blue tint, looks very unnatural.
Sgs2: has a red hue compared to sgs1 but still looks not as warm (red) compared to itouch.
Note2: compared to sgs1&sgs2 it has a warmer white, much much better color balance of them all. However compared to itouch I realized it has a yellow hue.
BUT!!!! I compared it to my laptop's white and 40" lcd tv's white, note 2 still as not yellow as my laptop and tv.
If I were you I would try to enjoy the phone instead of comparing it unless its an obvious defect. Each screen is different and has to be calibrated. Its just means the calibration is different then other devices.
I have to admit, when I compared note 2 to itouch I was surprised by the yellow hue but I am not gonna go and change it again. Not every 2 screen is the same.
Think that your "note2 doesnt have a yellow hue" , maybe its your old note has a blue hue?
Also if you tilt the screen and look it from different angles you will see yellow hue disappear. I had the exact same thing on sgs2. You have to live with it. I am %100 sure even if you change 5 times you will end up with the same problem.
Wow fukn bs yellow ****

warfanax is pretty right I went and exchanged it today for another note 2 and it looks the same an 4 units tested in store, all had warm whites....so that being said the OG note still has a brighter "looking"screen and brighter whites even if they are blue it gives the appearance of being brighter. Oh well, I'll live with it for the quad core and 2 gigs of ram though. Cant have everything...
I don't have the programming knowledge but don't think an app that changes screen colors is very hard to make. Some kind of color boost is already included in our phones in display section.
There was an app like that for sgs1 that let you tweak RGB colors.

Thanks for the link but that app only washed the screen out with the contrast adjustment. It washed out the black levels. I just realized that I'm running Paranoid Android on my original Note and under Settings>Display there is an option for filtering and dimness. Its set to (20) by default. If I lower the number to like 10 it then matches my note 2's screen brightness at 100%. Its as if this Paranoid Android setting makes the back light on the Note 1 put out brighter (while killing battery life I'm sure) while still keeping the black levels black. Could this setting be what is making my note look brighter than my note 2 and can settings like those be applied with a new rom or an app on the Note 2?
I exchanged out my Grey GN2 for a white version for another defect issue yesterday and the screen on this new phone is definitely whiter. I'm happy, but I agree with others that the yellowish screen was probably due to normal manufacturing tolerance variations.

I'm within my 14 day window so I'm going to go to the ATT store and compare mine to another GN2 and if mines deficient I'll have them replace it. Will post back with results in a few days.

Is the screen really good?

After returning the Nexus 6p for the battery issues on a brand new device, I'm considering buying the Z Play.
A thing that makes me doubt is the screen. The resolution is the same of my 3 years old Nexus 5, but with a bigger screen, so the overall PPI is worse.
I have stopped by a couple of shops but they only had the Moto Z, so I haven't been able to test the screen of the Play.
So my question is, is the screen really good when you look at it? I don't want to buy it and after first boot realize that even the Nexus 5 screen looks smoother...
It's a good looking display. Not as good as my 2K screen on my S7, but it is good for a 1080p screen. It's also an AMOLED, so the colors look nice and it has an amazing contrast ratio.
The PPI is amazing. QHD screens are nice but not massively different than FHD screens.
I love the screen, I think it's great and coming from my note 4, I don't even notice a difference. But honestly unless you're using it for VR you probably won't be able to tell a difference between 400 and 500+ PPI.
Compared to the 6P that it replaced, it really is a nice looking screen. Plenty bright even at the lowest setting, but I noticed vertical lines running through mine. Has anyone else noticed that?
None but I do get lag after the phone is not used in 3 or 4 hours. Haven't tried to flash a factory md5 yet but if it keeps it up
i'll have to get rid of it. Its really basic when it comes to stock settings and havent found an app to restore some tuning options.
honestly, the screen was my biggest concern coming from the S7 Edge (the edges on the Edge were just annoying).. but i really can't tell the difference, visually.
the moto Z play screen is just damn good. bright colors, clear lines. it just works. plus the phenomenal battery life just adds to the perks of this phone.
When some text appears in different colors on black background, it is clearly to notice that red is on a higher level than white and blue a bit below white. This is a thing I had with Samsung Galaxy S3 also, and I was glad when I wasn't using AMOLED anymore. Thought with smaller structures (resolution much higher) it would be less obvious, but it is clear to see. Under other circumstances the screen is really fine.
Its awesome!

Blue tint/colour shift on screen when tilting Galaxy S9, even slightly

Hi all,
Did anyone notice the blue tint/colour shift on screen when tilting Galaxy S9, even slightly? It is very prominent and appears on the edges when viewing from front, especially on white screens. Exactly the same kind of issue which I heard about Pixel 2 XL.
I tried to adjust as many settings as I can, but no luck. Even the bootloader screen with SAMSUNG logo and PIN verification screen behaves the same, which means it's not a software issue. Also, I took my phone to service centre, but they say all Galaxy S9s behave the same.
Is this issue with every Galaxy S9? If yes, this is not at all the best screen, even my Nexus 5X's screen performed much better. Trying to attach pictures to try to show you the exact issue.
Edit:
Model number: SM-G960F
Bought in India
Manufactured in India
Thank you
All I can say is not with my US model made in China.
Just looks like the shadow from the curved edge of the screen
