Sony Xperia M 4.3 Locked Bootloader CynogenMod - Sony Xperia M

Device: Sony Xperia M C1905
Software: 4.3
Bootloader: Locked
Basically, every single method I have tried to root this phone has failed. All I want to do is have root access to my phone, I want to be able to:
Use CynogenMod (FOR CLASH OF CLANS)
take my apps2SD
Delete any crap from my phone
Full Customization abilities
All this can be achieve by rooting but MY BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED.
There are numerous ways out there that just don't work.
Does anybody know how to first root my phone, and then to have access to a mod?
I want the mod to be able to do all the things I listed previously.
I know this is possible with CynogenMod on other phones, but my bootloader is locked, and I just don't know what to do. Done numerous tutorials, none seem to be working or some don't even have any download links.
If someone could give me a step by step guide on how to mod and root my phone that would be perfect.
I will respond very quick, and will ask you questions if I need help.
I will listen and try to follow your steps, but please give me specific details, I'm not a pro modder.
Thanks

unlock the bootloader from sonys site and then look on cms site for instructions, its noob friendly

[Q] Easiest way to root a unlocked bootloader Arc running on 2.3.3 ?

If you have an Xperia Arc version 2.3.3 unlocked bootloader, you can't root using Gingerbreak or Super1click as the update, unwillingly, made sure that stuff doesn't work anymore.
The only way to root, as far as I know, is flashing -> getting 2.3.2 ROM -> root from their -> update.
I can not use that way as everytime I try to update in the last step it wont turn on again after reboot (so I have to flash using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358, though i'm sure it'll work for most of you.
Question being: Is there atm really no alternative to root for me then? I'm kinda desperate, i've been looking on XDA a lot of hours and this is rly my last hope to get this over with..
thx in advance!
As you said yourself.. You have an unlocked bootloader.. so you don't have to more like you cannot use the FOTA technique cos OTA update bricks the phone..
Simply flash one of the prerooted kernel like DoomLord Kernel.. Should do it .. Or if you want the stock kernel then Serach the forums for something like "Root 4.0.A.2.368" They will usually specifically say that you need unlocked bootloader..
[Guide] All in one 'Namaste guide' to Bootloader unlocking, Rooting, Flashing & more
thx for the replies.
though, I've read that whole guide before, problem is:
"Ques – Ok. So quickly tell me how to unlock my Xperia Arc’s bootloader and install a beautiful Custom ROM.
Not so fast dear. I described a deal about bootloader and benefits of its unlocking but let’s get practical. There are two disadvantages of unlocking the Xperia Arc’s bootloader.
As per my knowledge, till date, there is no Custom ROM designed for your Xperia Arc. So, it’s useless to unlock your bootloader. "
So, if a "non stock kernel" means the same as a "custom ROM", where do I find it? i dont want the original one as that1 is outdated. I know how to flash my phone, but only with delivered folders (which are always X10)
with kind regards,
Tom

I have the same problem with my Neo. I've tried flashing 2.2.2, then rooting with Flashtool (just click Xperia X10), but this doesn't work, and after relocking the bootloader and updating, the phone is bricked as well. Tried this like 5 times.
I think I'll just wait for 2.3.4 as my main reasons to root are making screenshots and removing bloatware. 2.3.4 adds screenshots, and currently, my ROM is not totally full.
Same here, just wanna get that bloatware off, starting to look like i'm gonna wait as well... this has already taken enough hours away from me

Flash a prerooted image or relock the bootloader and use the more lengthy method.

Hmm.. Only non stock kernels yet around are the DoomLord and CM (FreeXperia) kerenls.. Check the development forums for them..
The Stock aren't really "outdated".. These custom kerenels are based on the original stock code with a few features enabled.. So don't expect android 2.3.4 from them or anything..
As for rooting issues.. Follow the Namaste guide and a few posts in the development forum bout rooting arc properly and carefully.. Noting what is Locked and Unlocked and which method works where.. And it won't take more than 15 minutes to setup everything..

What can I do ?

Hi all
Ok it's a long story but I think you guys need to know.
Ok I've got a arc s which isn't rooted and bootloader is locked (i think), running the latest stock rom.
I want to get a different rom like CM9 or CM10 because stock rom is almost unusable but I need to unlock my bootloader and root my phone, but everything I try to do those 2 things just fail for some unknown reason.
I have no idea if the latest stock rom is rootable yet, but I've red up that you don't need to be rooted to unlock the bootloader
( I'm not 100% sure on that).
But when I try to unlock my bootloader my phone won't boot into fastboot mode, (I know how to do it but it just goes into the charging screen).
and when I try to root my phone the program i used just gives me a ton of errors and phone isn't rooted when it's finished.
( I used doomloards ICS rooting method )
So I question is
Is there any rom I could flash in my phones current state because I HATE stock rom, I just can't use it without it rebooting all the time.
If so please post a like to the rom
Any help will be appreciated.
Read the stickies, look in the development section.
Sent from my CM9'd Arc
Install CWM and flash a Rom for locked bootloaders (eg. JJ`s Hybrid Rom )
P.s. : Have you checked if your botloader is unlockable ? Have you tried to unlock it at sony website ?
And if you realy want to unlock BL and root your phone... do some more reading. You will find at sony website all the info you need to know about how to unlock your bootloader. From there it should be very easy to flash custom kernel and Rom (custom kernel comes with CWM integrated).
Ok well I've looked a bit more at sony's website and found the unlocking bootloader page http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
But when I entered the code in the dialler, nothing happened...
Also I've found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642480 which looks useful enough but I follows the thread to the rooting pages
and I looked at them they where the same methods I tried before, but it doesn't work, I just get errors and no root
I've had this problem before, when I was trying to root my phone, It just kept failing.
I saw some threads on installing CWM but they all seemed to require root access. so at the moment I'm ******.....

No good looking at threads for the Pro.
[INDEX][ARC/ARC S]Guides/Kernel/Root/ROMS/etc..call it a COMPLETE LIST Thread
Well thanks for the link and all but I'd prefer to use this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
which is the way I rooted it before (when I was running 4.0.3)
But it just gives me errors and not rooting it.

[Q] Xperia Play r800at Troubles

Hello, I was posting here because I've been having a great deal of difficulty really getting anything done with it. What I'd like to do is either unlock the bootloader, or at least root it to my computer to flash on a new ROM.
In order to root it, I was told to put it in MSC mode, allow unknown sources, and enable USB debuggin, all of which I've done. However, when I go to root it using either SuperOneClick, Doom method, or flashtool, I continually get errors, either saying ADB server is out of date, killing..., or in the case of the doom method that it cannot write any files because they are read only. Somebody mentioned you an overwrite your r800at with an r800i rom to make this work, but the link in that thread lead to some virus (I assume it was taken down a while ago). I put it to a stock AT&T ftf, and still no luck.
My problem lies in the fact that some of the threads I'm looking at are YEARS old at this point, most of the links are dead, and some of the advice is contradictory. I figured then that I could just get somebody to unlock it for money, but all the threads point to alejandrissimo, who I believe is now inactive.
All I would like is to root my phone and put on a new rom, preferably of ICS, with minimal difficulty. I've sunk something like 10 hours into it at this point, and now am the proud owner of a phone with the exact same firmware I started with. I've wiped my contacts like 8 times, and to be honest I'm just getting frustrated with the whole thing. I hate the idea of having bloatware all over my phone though.
So if anybody knows a good way either to root the r800at (and if possible could provide active links to the software), or somebody I could pay to unlock it and skip all this work, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks for reading, have a good one.
I can't help you with unlocking bootloader (i have r800i with unlocked bootloader), but maybe i can help you with root
You didn't say what firmware are you using, but in general use Doomlord's zergrush method v4 for firmware .42 and below or Eroot on newer firmware (it's on chinese but it have one big button with word "ROOT" on it :silly: )
That is only for rooting and with that you can debloat stock firmware or use ROMs for locked bootloader.
SWM_installer V5 , should work on locked bootloader (once you get root) so you can flash custom GB roms.
To be able to install ICS/JB/CM/MIUI ROMS you must unlock your bootloader because they all don't work on stock GB kernel, and you need unlocked bootloader to be able to flash custom kernels
Here is some links, but i hope R800a users can help you more with unlocking bootloader

First, thank you for the very informative response. Here's some additional info, I am not sure if it will be helpful to you
My current Android version is the stock AT&T 2.3.3 and my build number is 3.0.1.b.0.285. I'm honestly not sure which of these things is helpful, but I'll try that Chinese rooting method. Got a long work shift tonight, but I'll report back later.
Thank you so much, I really do appreciate it!

[Q] Paradox while trying to root C1904

Hi,
I'm trying to follow this guide to root my Xperia M, but it is required to have an unlocked bootloader. So, i'm trying to unlock it by following this guide and there it is recommended to do a TA Backup. For doing so, i'm found this thread, but as you can see in the FAQ, it is required to have a rooted phone...
So, can someone help me here?..... Am i missing something?
Greetings!
Haha, you can say it as a paradox, but there are two ways in rooting, with a locked or unlocked bootloader. But if it's your first time doing so, I HIGHLY recommend rooting on a locked bootloader.
Just go here, and right after rooting, go here, RIGHT AWAY. You're gonna need it and it might just save your life in the future.

Will this method work on my Xperia M C1904 (4.1.2 , 15.1.C.1.17 ) ?
My bootloader can be unlocked.
Yes, but if it doesn't, use this instead.

[Q] Help request- Rooting Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S LT18A

I have an old smartphone (model specified above), which I have tried to find a root for it (like FOREVER), every single root I found wasn't able to do the job. Either the program alerted me that the phone is not supported , or tried to root and failed. I have looked into other threads with the same problem, and they either didn't have a solution, or simply directed me towards stickys with rooting programs that also did not work.
I want to root it so I can uninstall some of the build-in apps that I dont use (such as facebook, youtube, and out-of-date & un-updateable operator apps.). They function poorly, take up space, and worst of all: they run in the backround (and on old phones such as this every megabyte of RAM counts.) Please help me.
Is there something I'm missing? A vital step I skipped or something? Do I need to unlock the bootloader to root? Or do I need to root to unlock the bootloader?
I probably have an operator's custom ROM (The phone was purchased through that operator instead of a regular electronics shop). Does this make any difference?
If Anyone can explain to me step-by-step what and how to root, or point me to a usefull guide, I will be forever thankful. Nothing worked for me so far.
The following link is an example for one of many failed roots: http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....png?key=jlMCFQV7vX1Nm6lhG9Di3Q&ts=1429094909
One last thing: It may take me a few days to respond, because I rarely get the opportunity to log on to the internet, so I can barely check on mail, please don't close this thread if it takes me too much time to respond.
