[T989] hard bricked ! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I remember exactly I flashed a wrong ROM for my S2, that ROM for S3. I didnt know that. So, My S2 has been hard bricked.
I did some research on google. It said using USB Jig or Riffbox JTAG.
RbJTAG is not possible for me. Its 100$ on ebay. So, can i use USB jig in this case ?
Anyone has any idea ?

Is it possible for you to get into Download Mode, at least?

Nothing, black screen only. It's hard bricked completely !

Is it possible to brick an i9000 with odin?

I was trying to install darky 10.2 resurrection from the 2.3.5 modaco rom, and it appeared to have hung at the "Set PIT file.." section. I gave it about 40mins, then unplugged it. Now it doesn't turn on, it doesn't give any response at all to anything I can do to it. Is it a goner?
I was previously using a san francisco and it seemed any stupid thing I could do to that was fixable somehow, perhaps I should have been more careful (although I was just following the instructions to get to the point where it stopped responding in odin)
hmm, some further searching reveals i have almost certainly bricked my phone permanently
and that ive put on a galaxy s rom onto my galaxy s2 what a dumbass
sorry to bother you
Lol. Anyways it's hard to brick a phone with Odin. Even so, you can resurrect it by using a USB jig.
i dont know, it seems ive made a fairly good job of it by trying to flash a rom for another phone onto it
Its very difficult to brick your phone WITHOUT ODIN. generally devices get bricked because of people playing with bootloaders and doing a mistake with some bootloader and you can't play with bootloaders from CWM you have to use Odin for that.
ahh yes, this is the difference between my experiences with the san fran and the galaxy, i was only using CWM on my san fran.

unbricakble mod for i9000 ...

my phone isent turning on

bought this galaxy s2 from a friend perfect condition nothing was wrong with it. rooted it flashed a rom(made backups)didnt really like the rom very much. tryed to flash another one and it said it failed to install so i restored to orignal stock and i guess when it was done turned off and now it wont turn on. i have tryed going into recovery. nothing. when i plug into computer (at school computer it looks like it found something but my computer wont install it so i will say somthing when i get home. please help this phone is wonderfull i dont know what i did im very pissed i cant send it to samsung because its not my phone phone.
when i looked at the rom zip on the sd card i had it said i777 im sure thats meaning the sgh i777 soo.....
You flashed a ROM for a completely different phone. This is a T989 not an I777... Your totally bricked and you'll need a jig to force it into download mode to Odin back to the correct firmware . if you do some searching you'll figure it out I'm sure..

If it's hard bricked this might be your only option. They charge $50 for fixing a bricked t989.

you can make a jig but if your not good with building stuff like that then just buy a jig
btw please im not trying to flame you but please read what phone the rom is for next time
and if your not sure ask questions!
thats what we are here for!!!!
i did read what the rom was it was from this forum that i got it from. also when i build the usb jig what do i do from there? i dont know how to flash a rom from odin
i built a usb jig and it still wont turn on. i just got this why does this always happens to my phones...
Just buy one. Correct me if I'm wrong but they usually cost around $1-2

MTV Jig is Here!!! And I haz questions...

Got my MTV jig today...I'm charging the battery to my bricked SG3 at the moment in an external charger to make sure it has enough juice to get the job done. The MTV site said this jig will work on ALL SG's 2 and 3 so I guess this will be the ultimate test since I'm reading different things everywhere. Now for my question(s), am I supposed to be able to just plug the jig in, do the key combo for download mode and then the magic happens immediately? I also need to get a stock rom, not the one with root injected because I was reading the instructions on how to install the root injected rom and it says Odin needs to do the install for it. I dont see how that'll happen in my phone's current state (hard bricked). Say the jig works and download mode pops up, will it continue popping up on its own like if I were to plug into the pc? Sorry, just slightly confused
If you're hard bricked a jig won't work for that. You would need to get a JTAG service to fix a hard brick. But. If its not hard bricked then all you need to do is plug the jig in and your device will automatically go into download mode. Then from there you can use odin to flash a stock ROM and you'll be up and running again.

...please tell me you're joking....
I thought the jig was to bypass whatever is causing the phone not to boot allowing you to at least get into download mode or recovery....I have a feeling I'm gonna puke now. It's definitely hard bricked. I accidentally loaded an i9300 rom on my i747...completely dead to the world.

A jig is only useful for a soft brick as task has said, hard brick needs a jtag repair.

To use the jig, just plug it in. No key combo needed
Well my phone is definitely hard bricked...AT&T won't exchange my phone because I transferred tmy service to another carrier a month ago...the other carrier is run by a bunch of asshats giving me the run around...SO...I'm gonna try a Samsung warranty exchange. I can't afford a JTAG right now since I'm not working...FML.../end

Most likely a USB jig isn't going to work for a hard brick.
If it does happen to work you can Google "Odin back to stock t989 xda" and find instructions there.
Otherwise you are going to have to send it for JTAG repair.

I'm not sure if its hard bricked (i guess thats what its called when you flash a rom from a different phone)but I'm unable to turn it on and the only way I can fix it looks like Odin USB jig or JTAG. Can you recommend any USB jigs?

Samsung Galaxy J2 prime Deadboot

Hello, this is a newbie mistake which is kind of funny because I've been doing phone repair for quite a while. I flash my Samsung phone but it failed so instead of restarting it from dl mode I removed the battery and after that mistake the phone now is dead. It won't even charge or boot to dl mode even though I used JIG. I find out while searching that you can use JTAG but it's so expensive on my end. Can you guys suggest any other tool or anyone of you can help me fix it?

If you're at the point where you would have to use JTAG to repair a device, you're better off giving up and getting a new one. Getting the binary images you'd need is next to impossible.
