Model #s for each country? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a model # key for the different countries? For instance, the G3 D855 was for Aus.
Nothing will come here until June at the earliest but my current phone has died so considering sourcing one from overseas.

Which 32/3 G3's work well on EE in the UK?

I am a bit confused at which G3 is best for use in the UK.
I'm on EE and have seen that all the Korean models support the necessary networks, but I have been told that they don't work fantastically.
What are the facts?
Thanks in advance.

Handtec sell the european 3/32 version of the G3 for 509.99 maybe that's a safer bet?

Maybe, and thanks for the information as that seems like a good price, but I would really like a definitive answer before spending £500!

I have read some who have the Korean version have issues with it not seeing 4G or losing 4G after a reboot and the European 3/32 version supports all LTE bands within the UK so there won't be any issues with it working in the UK on EE or any other network.
Also you cannot cross flash ie a D855 firmware onto K400 or vice versa.
Thanks for the information both of you.
I think I'll go with the EU version to make sure.
Just for clarity, the D855 is the EU version, and the F400/K400 are the Korean versions?

I've found a D855 for under £450, new. I just have to work out if the seller can be trusted.

You can buy it from Amazon.de for almost the same price, plus you have the amazon return policy which is pretty good.

Anyone know the different versions of LG G4 ?

Heya Fellas
asking if theres any info as to what versions are out in the wild (as in the code name of the different versions) ,
and where one could buy himself one? (online stores with an international warranty)
Official release world wide is not until tomorrow (the 28th). At that time we will find out the variations: 32gb, 64gb, leather back, plastic back, CDMA, GSM, carriers, etc. etc.

Sorry I missed your response, I watched it on Cnet. It was pretty good. I'm still in.
However, still unknown on all the possible variations. Not much was talked about on that front, and apparently USA may not be until June - Korea tomorrow - so not sure when we will know more,

hmm so the list up til now might be...

H815 - H818 -> International
H810 -> AT&T
H811 -> T-Mobile USA
LS991 -> Sprint
US991 -> US Cellular
VS986 -> Verizon
*update
hmm... the VS999 might actually be the new LG tablet that leaked the other day... the specs I saw on the VS999 seemed high end but the resolution was weird and more fitting of a tablet. So Verizon G4 is probably the VS986.

Yes, but the nice leather back does not have the wiring for it. You will need to purchase a different back or some after market converter.

Just to make it clear. The T-Mobile USA LG G4 has wireless charging capabilities but the stock phone will need a new back that has the appropriate wireless charging "antenna" and contacts.

every G4 has wireless antena's by defaut :
4 antena's = 2 NFC and 2 for wireless charging :
for now , there is only the flip cover that can wireless charge the G4, but this flip case is in plastic , and a strong selling point of the G4 is the leather back, i personally don't see LG not making wireless charging on the leather back cover , that would be a huge mistake from them, plus that, as this is a cool feature everybody would want to buy a back cover that has wireless charging
They did it on the G3 , so i guess they will to on the G4, they have to ( check this out )
EDIT : the G3 international ( D855 , which i have ) did came with wireless charging on his back by defaut , in the U.S people had to buy the back cover like above, to have wireless charging, i'm not sure if all U.S carriers didn't have it

H-811 = T-Mobile USA
H-810 (or H-812) = AT&T (or US Regional/MVNO/etc)
LS-991 = Sprint
VS-986 (or AS-986) = Verizon (or US Regional/MVNO/etc)
UK-495 (or AK-495) = US Cellular (or US Regional/MVNO/etc)
H636 = Canada
K815(P/L/AR/K) = Korea
H818P = International

this depends on where you wanna purchase it, there is no simultaneous worldwide release. for example t-mobile usa announced it for june 2nd, while korean F500L versions are already on amazon and the likes.
Well I wanted to know which will be the international version since I come from MEA region and where I could get 1 As soon as it's out
Our stores take a long time to get the latest phones to the market (between 1-2 months)

H815 model differences?

I know there are multiple H815 models, The EU version being the only unlockable one right now.
My questions are;
1) what are all the H815 model numbers, and if the models numbers are not different for different locals, how to tell them apart?
2)What accessories come default in each local package? (I know some come with 2 back plates, some with headphones, some with mail in offers)
I would like to purchase a H815 EU model, but as of now I have no real way to tell if what I will be purchasing will be what I actually want until I try to unlock it.
*EDIT* I know this could be in Q&A but when this is answered, I would like to be able to edit this into an informative post to help others.
My h815 is from Taiwan. I know this because that's where it shipped from. Plus on the box it says h815 TW. But no where n the phone does it say TW. So the only way to know as far as I know is the box. Mine came with one set of headphones, one back, and us/TW charger for what it's worth

One way to tell apart differences between phones within the LGH815 model category seems to be to identify the suffix of the individual phone.
See post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61159318&postcount=68 for test of IMEI of phone that reveals the suffix particular to that phone.

Why different models for tmobile

Why am i seeing different models from T-Mobile i have the H811 what is the difference from mine and they H815. My wife seems to think the leather backed version would be the reason but wanted to ask.

The 815 is the international unlocked version (One is Europe, the other is Asia but same model number). Doesn't have anything to do with leather or not.

UK Release?

Does anyone know for sure if the G8 is coming to the UK? If so, will it be available on carriers or will we have to buy it outright? I've heard very little about the release of this phone.

Huh?
I've heard of a mid-April SIM free release date - probably from Carphone Warehouse as they also did the V30 & G7 SIM free.
Probably no VoLTE or VoWiFi support in the UK due to carriers not officially supporting the phone - LG seem to prefer to turn the options off / remove them from firmware completely rather than leaving them as some other manufacturers do.

LG really make some confusing decisions. Why would they disable features that make the phone infinitely better. Urgh!

They've done it on the last few handsets - you end up having to root the phone and then hack the firmware to turn (core) features back on.
Based on this alone, I think this is going to be the first year in the last 10 that I won't be buying an LG phone!

That's really sad, for both LG and you. I really want this phone so I can play with the sound display and air gestures, but not at the expense of standard tech which even dumb phones are starting to ship with.
What are you likely to switch to?

It's nonsensical and incredibly disappointing.
What an absolute crock. All we got is a watered down version that I won't be buying. Looks like you've lost a loyal customer LG.
It's official, the LG G8 isn't getting a UK release.
That said, Wonda Mobile is importing and selling the Korean version.

It is indeed.
The LG G8s LMG810EMW is the same as the Korean version and if available in a few weeks might be better to get this option. With the Korean version it will work but there will be some quirks with it.
There is no information about G8's at all ....
The reason i wanted to get g8 from Korea because it has a triple camera
Of course I'd rather buy the EU version.
I dont know why LG does not make the same models everywhere.
Just get the G8 from Wonda
I would consider selling my Canadian variant. I'm a Brit living here in Canada at the moment. Let me know if anyone is interested. Dual camera unfortunately. I only got it 4 days ago but thinking about going back to my s7 for the time being. Too much phone for me.
