[Q] Disable A57 cores - Verizon HTC One (M9)

What would it take to be able to disable 2 of the A57 cores in this device?

First you would need to be rooted and/or S-off.
Then you could either expose the regular Powersaver mode that should be there anyways (but for some reason has been hidden), or you could experiment with custom kernels and/or kernel tweaker apps.

You can't do 2 but you can do all 4 a57 cores via the stock power saver
This requires a factory reset unless you have sqllite editor!
Once rooted/s-off you need to open a root file browser and mount system as rw. You browse to /system/customize/CID/default.xml
Look for def_hide_ui_user_powersaver and change that from a 1 to a 0

To also add the quick toggle for it you need to browse to /system/customize/ACC/default.xml. Find the quicksettings section and notice that they count up from 1 through 5 and skip 6. All you have to do is add 6 in.
Now factory reset.

[Q] How to add Reboot into CWM option?

I know I'm a n00b! And that's why I need some special "halp".
I have a MK16, It has the .587 and small apps but I'm using a Framework by Till-Kruspe (that was intended for MDPI but looks great on HDPI). I was reading a tutorial on how to add reboot option but this framework already has it so I wanted a Reboot into CWM option for teh coolness factor. (And it's useful!)
I decompiled this framework but to my surprise it has been prepared to have the reboot into cwm option (strings, pngs. and more) but it doesn't appear on the power menu. So I got to another thread (By draco_ag) and extracted android.policy from his mods, because It has the CWM option in his power menu and to my surprise now the ClockworkMod option appears (on the Framework by Till-Kruspe)....BUT the next pop-up says the phone will shut down and it does, but the reboot options works fine.
The Question: How to "repair" or further modify it to make it work?

[HOW TO] Manage wakelocks (Stock Kitkat)

Hello All,
I would like to share something that I found using "betterbatteryStats" that can be very helpful with Kitkat LG ROM (I believe that with CM you don't need this because there is App Ops "natively", another option is xposed modules), old stock ROM i've not tested.
Recently I've just unnistall "greenify" after reading Chamonix opion about greenify and wakelocks problematic, right now I analyse frequently wakelocks information and I try to reduce their impact in my phone performance.
This is my procedure right now:
1. Analise "alarm" statistic.

2. Select desire system/app process (press icon)
3. choose "app Ops"
4, Select app to change
5. Turn off the option that you want

ok its stored under name system status monitor . It can be run from kodi -> applications -> android apps -> system status monitor .Also it can be enabled/disabled there . Easiest way to make it go away is to reboot AFTVS

You can quickly toggle this by pressing and holding (five seconds) select + down + menu, release all three and then press menu. This will show a menu with System X-Ray on it. Turning this on displays the status overlay, off hides it.

WiFi Hotspot tethering (error) not working

Hello,
ever since I dirty flash Pie on my 5t and then 9.0.3, my hotspot is giving error and won't start.
I tried everything I found on google.
1- reseting my network , tried different combination of names, passwords and 2.4-5 GHz.
2-tried this (adb shell settings put global tether_dun_required 0)
3-tried to change my APN type to DUN but the carrier doesn't allow it error came up.
4- tried tethering enabler module but installing it gives (magsik is not activated (while I have two working modules) error.
5- tried hardware acceleration in developers options.
that all I can remember for now.
- the only thing is left is to clean flash but its time consuming and needs backups
any ideas
thanks in advance........ my patient is running out........Ironically, I barely use it.:cyclops::cyclops:

[SM-G988N] How to set ro.debuggable=1

(1)
I follow this link, update stock firmware and install magisk
Everything goes well.
(2)
Then, use magisk resetprop tool to change ro.debuggale
- magisk resetprop ro.debuggable 1
- stop; start;
Issues:
- After that, usb debugging(developer options) is disabled, why is this?
Should I change a ROM to flash?
Now, I change the magisk config,
I can login android device by adb shell, but I can't open Deveoper Options yet.
On my vivo phone, when set ro.debuggale=1, I can open Developer Options, change settings there.

I plan to change offical ROM to custom ROM, now if set ro.deuggable=1 or ro.secure=0, the adb connection become unstable
