Small white dot - Verizon HTC One (M9)

Hi- on stock rom, rooted. Whenever I touch the screen a small white dot appears. It follows my finger if I move it.
I disabled "Show Touches" in Dev Options but it persists.
Any help ?
Thanks,
Tom

It sounds exactly like show touches. Try turning it back on and then off again. And maybe a reboot for good measure.

I did try that but no luck.

I would turn it on and reboot, then turn it off and reboot. If that didn't get then I'd just spend the 15 minutes and reimage it.

Turn off glove mode.

For future reference, you're a lot less likely to get help if you post things like this. No need for caps lock and a demanding attitude.

What does completely stock Recovery look like?

I'm going to the Sprint store soon and I want to make sure my phone looks completely unrooted so that they can replace my bricked one. Does anyone remember what completely stock recovery looks like, before having CWM or anything?
Is it just that black screen with the white text and you need to enable ability to use the Power button to select?
Or is it that one blue-ish screen with the Android dude in the back?
I remember having both of these screens before but I don't remember which one comes with the phone. If anyone remembers, please say so. Thanks
once again, I will repeat, you do NOT have to make your phone look "stock" to get it fixed /replaced at Sprint...
this has been posted over and over and over and over by Sprint techs, Sprint employees, and others...

The good news is that it's vibrating. So that might be a good sign.. Maybe try plugging it in to your computer and see if you can get it in to download mode (hold volume down+power)

Have you dropped it recently because the screen might have come partially disconnected from the phone and cause the screen to go off.. However I guess that doesn't explain the vibrating

If all else fails its still something you can check out.. It's easy to fix you just need a tiny screwdriver and to open it up and reconnect it...
If I was you I would try to get it in download mode long enough to flash.. It's almost instantaneous

It could be a hardware issue. in which case you could send it to Samsung for repair. But they might not want to cover the bill if they find out its rooted and running custom firmware.. Maybe try to fully brick it first so they can't see your flash counter

This exact thing happened to me.
I couldn't ODIN or went into recovery because the phone wouldn't stay on long enough.
It would turn on for a few seconds and died and would constantly vibrate.
I tried JIG to force into download mode. Didn't work.
I tried JTAG service. Didn't work.
I was lucky enough that the phone was still under warranty so I had it replaced. But I think your phone is as good as gone.
You can always try JTAG (the only service that MIGHT bring your phone back to life) and hope that you're luckier than I was.

yeah i think its beyond fixing, as far as what im capable of. I knew the answer just wanted to hear it else where.... i contacted mobiletechvideos.com for a jtag service lets see if they can fix it. other than that.... u know anyone who would buy it? for 100 bucks?

I suggest that you send it for JTAG service anyway. If they can't fix it, they'll refund your money less shipping charge so you're only out a few bucks.
If they could fix it, then you obviously could sell the phone for a little bit more. Considering that you're already willing to cut your losses anyway, might as well give it another week or so. At least this way you know that you've tried absolutely EVERYTHING and know for sure that the phone is actually beyond fixing.
Or, you can try contacting this guy.
He's looking to buy a T989 motherboard. I'm assuming a "working" motherboard, but hey... you never know, right?
Good luck!!!! :fingers-crossed:

As of yet, there is no way to access the Thermal Mitigation. The hidden menu does not contain it.
I have a G4 with a bad screen and got it swaped with a new one. The whole time I thought the temperature throttlewas making my sceeen dingy and yellow but it turns out I had yet another defective LG phone..
Meanwhile, until someone figures out how to turn those TWO settings off, try my trusty app called LUX lite in the app store. Take your time to learn the setting amd jack everything up to 100%
Its sort of an override if you will. But it works like a charm. My replacement phone has a nice screen but a phone will never decide for itself what I will see. I own it and it will do as I say.... And I say 100% brightness or hammer...
Give it a try, it will keep your phone at 100% no trouble. Let me know what you think. I've been using it for a long time on my G3.
Hey man thanks for that response. I really appreciate that. I'm going to check it out now. Wish lg wouldn't have went that route.

Only pronblem here is ure taking care of the dim screen now what about the cpu throttle

Total noob, no idea, stuck big time!

Hi everyone!
I hope someone here can gimme me some help cus i'm soooooo lost as to what to do. I've google my head off for about 2 hours now and found nothing that really seems to help my beloved 10.
It's turning on then going off and just stuck in a circle. Back and forth all the time. I tried this power button thing and got that to work. I did the full reset (is that the right name for it?) and it still goes in a circle, back and forth and on and off.
What's a girl to do?
Any help would be awesome. And please excuse me. I really am a dumb blonde!
Oh... a friend of mine on fb said to come here (which i finally found!) and ask something about a rom? What's that all about? He went to bed without replying, so i haven't a scooby!
Anyway, if someone sees this and can help lil old me, i'd soooooo appreciate it.
Thankoooooo!
