Note edge N915T Camera sucks after Lollipop upgarde - Note Edge Themes and Apps

Yes it sucks ! after Upgrade to Lolli on my N915T, I found out that :
1- Note Edge Proudly Shutter button of Camera is not on the edge anymore, it's in the same place like other phones !
2- The camera shot mode gone !! Slow motion , fast motion any other motion and modes are not there anymore!
....
I'm searching for some hero who has Note Edge 4.4.4 Rooted so that he/she can upload the camera apk and odex files from his/her phone,
it's in System>app>SamsungCamera3 so that we can replace ours !
Is there anybody has such conditions ?
:highfive:

I still have slow mo shot and others after lollipop upgrade?

Me too on my note edge 915f

Still there. Just shifted from the settings menu to the Mode section. Tap the round Mode button next to camera button.

Yes, it was not chosen in settings, but number 1 is still the problem ! shutter button !

yeah, I was just noticing the shutter button is moved and it is pissing me off. Thanks a lot, Samsung, for half assing everything, yet again.
I may root my phone, downgrade, rip the apk, and reupgrade. If I do I will post the APK.
I've also noticed that notifications arent working as well with the edge side anymore. grrr

There is your camera apk

Copy with rootexplorer to /system/app/SamsungCamera3/SamsungCamera3.apk set permissions. -rw-r--r-- and reboot

I believe Samsung moved the location of the shutter button from the edge panel to the screen in order to speed up transitions from portrait to landscape photos. When the shutter button was on the edge panel and you attempted to rotate the camera in order to switch between a landscape and portrait shot there was significant lag, this is because the shutter button had to be completely repositioned on the edge panel in those two different modes. with the shutter button on the screen, stationary, it simply needs to rotate the icon instead of relocating it.

I for one never used the button on the edge... thought it was awkward to use personally...
I mainly use the Voice Control feature to take photos. If voice control isn't your preferred choice...
turn on "Tap to take pics" then you can tap anywhere on main screen to take photo.

Im soooo glad I stayed on KK4.4.4 with Hyperdrive~!!!!

not work
I tried to make the process but not work

Evo Camera better -- any good place to suggest features to Samsung?

I just sent the below email to Samsung via support website –*the form didn't even have an option for SPH-L710!!
Is there an official place to submit feature requests? Not that I have high hopes they will listen, but ...
I recently switch to this phone from an HTC Evo LTE. The Galaxy is great, takes great photos, but there are a couple things about the camera that I wish it could do like the Evo.
1. "Burst mode" -- on the Evo you don't have to change to burst mode; you can just hold down the shutter button. It also shows you all the photos instantly. On the Galaxy it takes several seconds for each one to show up. Is it because you don't have that dedicated chip inside?
2. On the Evo, there are 2 shutter buttons, 1 for stills, 1 for video. This is MUCH MUCH better than having to slide a switch, THEN start shooting.
3. You have that gesture for going to camera from lockscreen, but it still requires an unlock, causing you to 'miss the moment.' It would be much better if you could skip the unlock to just take pictures, like on the iphone (where you can TAKE pictures but not VIEW anything or switch to another app if you use the camera icon on the lockscreen.) It would be even better if you could just slide the cam icon on the homescreen and not have to unlock.

What is up with 4.2.1 camera?!

This is simply a joke, what is up with the camera app?? It is literally slower then my old nokia brick!
It takes 4(!) seconds for the camera to open when sliding to it from the lockscreen or opening via the icon, and it takes 2 damn seconds to rotate from horizontal to portrait and vice versa, that is insane and I cannot believe Google hadn't fixed this yet. Are you guys furious about it as I am?
P.s I wanna stay stock, and I don't think I'm asking too much..
Edit: one more thing: if my camera is set to auto flash and I will snap a picture without first tapping to focus about 60% of the time I will get a blue tinted photo. If I tap to focus first the photo will come out normal, I think they've made it that way so we'll get faster capturing but what they did was basically making the camera take a picture before it identifies the correct white balance, giving a blueish resault. Basically the whole camera app is broken in my opinion.
I wish they would fix it, its really slow, I don't use it often.

You have been very slight. It takes at least 4 seconds.
The new camera sucks, not only is it super slow but it takes forever to focus if it focuses at all before taking a picture. And when the shot is taken you dont see the result on the display as in the old camera and one has to go into gallery first to see how the photo turned out.
And this stupid new menu.... It may look fancy but half the time the control is out of the display or covered by the finger. Worst menu ever and should have been done properly or not at all.
In short i hate the new camera.

R: What is up with 4.2.1 camera?!
I really like the new UI but the app it's really bad optimized, it really sucks. It's been a while now since the release of 4.2 and still there's no fix. I, personally, excepted more from Google.
I don't even like the new interface. The pop up menus suck, some of the options are always hidden behind my finger.
Hmm did Google ever revert something like this in the past or do you think they will stick with this crap no matter what?

I actually trusted Google to sort these kind of things pretty quickly as the community is very aware of minor glitches and such, but this camera app is above all glitches, and they're doing nothing..
I also miss the HDR mode in the app. The only reason why I don't change to a different camera app is the integration with the OS.
I have to say I only have one problem with the camera app and that's the ~1 sec freeze when changing orientation.
It does open a tad slow from the lock screen (~3 sec for me) but I think it's bearable. Opening from the icon seems to be about a second. Focus hasn't been an issue for me yet. The new menu can be operated by taps if you don't like having your finger in the way - or - you can just tap and hold to open the menu then slide your finger out past the icons and operate it with your finger out of the way. Finally, not having the little picture preview for the last is a bit annoying but it is far out-shined by being able to swipe to the right and see a large version of that picture (plus previous pictures) while still keeping the camera active and not having to open the gallery app.
Just sharing my opinion - I prefer this version over the previous app.
EDIT: For what it's worth I'm on Purity v4.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108705)
I'm in total agreement! The UI is fine but the length of time it takes to change orientation and even snap a picture is ridiculous.

Hmm... there is a delay when you try and take a picture? I don't see that on mine unless it is still focusing or using the flash, of course.
I was taking a picture yesterday and my phone freez and restart

i tried that tap operation for the menu, but the only way to get the menu open and staying open is to keep the finger on the screen.
is that maybe a rom option?

Tap the circle in the bottom right corner then tap to choose options only works with a finger on the screen? I don't know if my camera apk was modified to do this... it's just the one that came on Purity ROM.
Cant we just pull the 4.1.2 camera and gallery app ?
Or is it that 4.2.1 camera is hardcoded in Android due to photophere?

No, that does work on stock. Thanks, I never payed any attention to the circle in the corner. That does make the camera a little more usable.
Just tossing out there toroplus 4.2.1 ....my camera is great, perfectly fine, the rotation delay isnt a delay at all, its exactly the same delay is if i were on homescreen and rotating. Strange that such problems are noted ...

Sounds like maybe you are a new Android user. It's true, the rotation delay is the same as the delay seen when rotation other apps. This would not seem to be a problem to a new user, but if you were used to the old camera app where there was no delay at all when rotating then it clearly sucks.

Camera: Tap to focus and snap no longer works

What can be wrong? I've rooted and use G3's Tweaksbox. In camera settings, I just disabled shutter sounds and low battery warning. It no longer snaps instantly when tapping on the screen once focused.

I have the same tweaks on mine and working fine have you tried restarting the phone
Are you using the immersive mode? Without all the icons on screen. Tap to shoot should work then.
Warcow is right... U have to hide alll the icon in the camera's app to have touch to shoot working
Thanks everyone! That worked fine! Have to hide all the buttons
Now that this issue is settled.. got a question:
Does anyone know how to force navBar to show in camera? I hate how the back button on the camera is on the left, whereas I configured my back on the navBar to be on the right. while cycling back from sharing a photo, I tend to accidentally tap on the gallery icon on the cam.. as I keep tapping on the right side of my navBar (back).
Forcing the navBar to show would be the best solution though..
Hello guys!

Unfriendly camera shutter

Hi
I have had phones with which I can shout photos by just tapping on the screen.
But this camera seems too limited, although photos are great.
I am afraid that if I use any other camera the postprocessing won't be so good and photos will be worse.
Any help to shoot easier with this, my new phone?
I'm confused. What do you mean by "just tapping on the screen"? The camera app has a big button on screen to trigger the shutter. Tapping anyplace else shifts the center of focus.

Go into the camera settings and there is an option to use the volume keys to trigger the shutter if that helps you

It's compatible. For example:
Motorola: dragging the "circle" it focuses. Touching the screen, out of the circle, it shots.
Xiaomi: touching the screen, it focuses. Then, once focused, in the middle of the circle appears a camera which if it's touched, it shots.
