Is rooting a USA version of the Zenfone 2 different? - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have read through the rooting guides on the Zenfone 2 and I keep wondering if the USA version of the phone will still root the same as the TW, CN versions etc.
Thank you,

process should be the same, the files might differ a bit though.

USA = WW version

[Q] How to change the android modified by AT&T for the international version?

Hello evryone! I've just bought an unlocked LG Optimus G Pro. This phone is the AT&T version, but since it's unlocked, and i use it in europe, there are lot of useless apps in it, and it doesn't contains the language of my country (Hungary). I want to change the android for the version what the factory unlocked phone has. Can anyone help me? I've already found a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088 but i'm not sure that this is what i'm looking for.

You can flash this kdz file at: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/Panama+E980H/
Thank you! I have some other questions too.
Thank you very much! So this is the international version for unlocked phones right? I just checked the software version in my phone and it's running on E9810p. And one more question, the unlocked software version contains all the default android languages? I just found here a file for my country, its in the HungaryE986 folder on the site what you linked (i can't put there links because i just registered yesterday sorry.) but it's number is E98610E. So i don't know it is compatible with my phone or not.

Who has the ZE551ML USA version that can extract the Baseband?

Who has the USA version of the ZE551ML rooted that can extract the baseband (radio) and send it to me so I can flash it in my ZF2 CN version. I will sacrifice my ZF2 and see if that way we can get different LTE bands from different region phones. See the method below, I will need the Radio Partition as a radio.img file.

I have ZE551ML US version. but I have no idea how to extract the baseband. If no one else can help I can read the guide and try to do it.
Hey thanks, I will appreciate it. Sorry I didn't answer back earlier. I am going in a trip and being super busy trying to get everything together. Apparently is not so obvious on the Zenfone 2 where the radio firmware reside. All mayor manufacturers have a separated partition for the radio, asus does not atleast not with an apparent name. The phone have around 18 to 20 partition. Chech this thread for what some people that are trying to backup the modem and EFS have found http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/investigation-efs-t3153154. The guide for dumping partitons is this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2450045 I will appreciate if you help me out. I will contact you once I get back. thanks in advance.
I'm curious about the same. Bought a Zenfone 2 (551ml) in Taiwan only to find it doesn't work in europe :/
I wonder what the reason is segregating the frequencies, my galaxy s2 has been al over europe and asia without problems. Yet this brandspanking new phone won't even connect to the cellular network.

Firmware Change

Hi I have browsed these forums for many years and they have served me well but this is my first question.
I have been given an old Samsung Galaxy Note II International Version. However the firmware is Chinese and thus has no play services. I am wondering if it is possible to switch from Chinese To English firmware and upgrade to the official Kit Kat upgrade, without rooting my device?
Here are some details of my device:
Model - GT-N7100
Android Version - 4.3
Baseband Version - N7100ZCUENB1
There may be a very short answer of "No" coming my way but I just wondered if this is indeed possible. I have the English firmware version for the N7100 already for the Android Version 4.4.2, I have experience with flashing via Odin.
Help is much appreciated.
Boot into download mode and verify the model #.
If it is a Note 2 that is made for mainland China, you may not be able to flash any English stock ROMs to the phone.

[HOW TO] Flash U1 firmware on F device... is it possible?

So hello guys! I just bought a used Galaxy S9 after almost 3 years with my iPhone 7. I'm so happy to be back with Android since my phone before iP7 was the Galaxy S5. But unfortunately it was locked to a carrier in the Philippines (cause I'm from here so it's Globe locked). I've done some rooting and stuff with my S5 before and flashing firmware so doing this again might need some familiarizing.
I've done some slight research and somehow I didn't find any, or maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. There were different versions of the G960 but the one I easily familiarized with was the U and U1 which were the locked and unlocked versions...
Is it possible to unlock my phone by flashing a firmware? My model number is SM-G960F btw... thanks guys!

do not flash the U1 firmware on a G960F device! Teh F devices have the Exynos processor and the U versions have the snapdragon and are therefore incompatible regarding firmwares. The G960F is the international unlocked version. Go into the settings and factory reset it from within the operating system, download the latest G960F using the frija or samfirm tool with the modified Odin for your desired cell provider. Standard Odin will likely give you errors
