[Q] Google Fit Step Counter - Asus ZenWatch

I like to keep track of my steps with the Google Fit Step Counter that presents itself as a Google Now Card. I like it because I don't have to start any app to see the count, and I can leave it always in view if I want.
However, sometimes I accidentally close the Google Now Step Counter Card. When I do, is there any way for me to get it back (without waiting for the next day)?

Slide up for Undo after you've dismissed the last card. Might not be the last card though.

EVERY app, stock or not, continiously resets(closes and reopens).

Ive sort of tried to search this one (How do I search JUST the Epic 4g section of XDA??) and found no one describing this problem the way I do...
This is my second time having this issue, and the fix for it last time was a pain in the ass, so id like a new fix-
Every app, every aspect of my phone, continuously resets/reloads. This is most noticeable with Hancent SMS, as it saves a message as a draft when you close out of the app... Well, right now, ill be typing and "message saved as draft" will constantly pop up at the bottom of the screen (about once every 2 seconds), and the phone will lag and it will erase 1 or two characters(making me look like I cant type :silly: ).
If this was the only problem, maybe I could live with it, but it affects everything. Launcher Pro randomly/continuously resets. The notification bar often resets while trying to pull it down. The phone app will close or freeze as soon as I start receiving a call. Sometimes it'll play my ringtone without a way for me to answer, other times I never knew I missed a call unless they leave a voice mail... And sometimes its worse than others, sometimes its fine for an hour, then something goes stupid and even a reboot doesn't help. For instance, right now, it was happy. I launched aLogcat to check it out and now the screen orientation REFUSES to stay one way. Even setting the phone down, it switches directions every few seconds, which makes aLogcat reload and therefor its unusable.
I haven't mentioned what im running because Ive had this exact same issue on a totally different rom, almost a year ago, but im running-
build - SleeperROM_3.0.0_FC09
kernal - 2.6.35.7-Shadow-FC09_v1.0
baseband - S700.0.5s.FC09
firmware - 2.3.6
Ive had this happen on EB13 on the EpicExperience ROM too.
SOO, if anyone has advice on how to fix this, id be extremely interested.
On the other hand, last time I had this issue I was convinced it was a corrupt piece of memory somewhere early in the OS, something I corrupt during install, and I went ahead and reflashed and wiped and reflashed and wiped and returned to stock and etc. etc. etc... and that seemed to work... actually, I dont know exactly what part of the process fixed it, thats why I do not want to repeat it unless I have to... BUT, if someone would like to explain/point me in the right direction. I'd like to know how to DELETE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE and FLASH as CLEAN as possible. (that is, if no one else knows of a fix for my problem)
thanks all!
Err, well only thing I can think of is a truly clean install using Odin. This means do not restore any data from backups. Then slowly begin installing applications 1-by-1 through the play store website (for speed sake) to see if your issue creeps up again.
It also couldn't hurt to format your SD card too. Corrupt data on the SD card can cause some wonky things at times.
get another device...i hope u have the equipment protection plan
Thanks for the advice guys OFF TO THE ODIN MACHINE! haha.

[Q] Internal storage corrupted?

Hi all,
So here's the deal. I'm kind of at my wits' end right now.
My wife has a bone stock I747 from AT&T (other than being factory unlocked and now being used on T-Mobile). It was purchased (new, in an AT&T store) in late December 2012.
Just yesterday, the phone started acting strangely: she'd try to take a picture, and it wouldn't save. Sometimes the camera app would inexplicably close. Then she realized she couldn't load the images gallery - the gallery app just closes and reverts to the home screen. And then other apps just started randomly closing in the same manner.
What I mean by the latter is, for example, you'll be in gmail, composing an email and typing away, then all of a sudden the screen simply reverts to the home screen - as if the app has been killed in the background by an invisible task killer. (If you re-open the app, it starts as if fresh - it does not return to where you left off.) This happens in multiple applications, not just ones related to pictures.
Another way in which this problem has manifested itself includes apps taking an inexplicably long time to update from the Google Play store.
So I am now concerned that the internal storage is corrupted. She didn't previously have an SD card in there (she has the 16 GB model, and before I started messing with it last night / today / tonight, ~1.5 GB were still free). Tonight, I put a 32 GB microSD card in, set the camera to save to it (instead of the internal storage), and took a few pictures. They all saved perfectly fine to the SD card.
Steps I've taken:
-cleared the cache for a bunch of apps (gallery, instagram, google+ [her phone is set to auto-backup all photos to google+], facebook, basically anything that remotely has to do with pictures)
-cleared the cache partition in recovery mode
-cleared data for gallery (in addition to cache)
Clearing the caches has resulted in the free space on the phone increasing to ~2.80 GB. However, none of these steps has solved the problem.
I also plugged the phone into a computer (connected as MTP) and attempted to copy or move her pictures from the internal storage "camera" folder to the microSD card's "camera" folder. However, when I try to open the "camera" folder via the computer, it cranks for a while, and then says "0 items." From that point on, the computer can't see ANY folders on the phone - it requires unplugging the phone and resetting the phone to see the folders again. (Though of course this is semi-pointless, because as soon as you open a folder, it says there are 0 items in it, as above, and the cycle starts anew.)
Anyway, I'm sorry if some of this is a little rambling or incoherent - it's almost 4am here and I've been trying to fix this phone for the past 3 hours (after spending approximately the same amount of time on it last night). Basically, I guess my question is: is my fear that the internal storage is corrupted likely accurate? If so, so be it - I guess at that point, we send the phone back to Samsung for warranty service?
However, if there's a chance that these issues are being caused by something else, I'm willing to try other steps to try to fix the phone.
Thanks in advance...
Why not copy anything that u want to keep to the external sd and or pc, and then format internal storage? Might help...

Getting rid of the heartbeat card.

I've always wanted to get rid of the heartbeat card that randomly comes up, but there's never been a way. However, last night, I think I finally did it.
It could be some firmware upgrade, or it could be because after upgrading my phone to lollipop, I finally have Fit now, and I went in to the AW app to set all the steps/heartbeat related tasks to Fit, then added Fit to the mute list. I'd hoped that would do the trick, but no luck. Yesterday, I got the dreaded "Way to Go!" card. Ugh.
However, swiped over to the right, and got the steps control. I went into that, and swiped all the way to the right (past the "steps this week" page), and lo and behold: There were controls for "Heart Activity," "Daily Goals," and "Moto Body," all of which had a "Notifications Off" setting. Huzzah!!! ( I remember turning steps off before, but there were no controls for the others, which is why I'm not sure if it's because I set the Steps action to Fit or if it's just new.)
By the way, if you don't have a card currently up, you can get there by starting "Moto Body Steps" from the 360.
Yeah, I find it's actually a really big pain in the ass trying to figure out where each notification is coming from, and how to turn it off. Poor UI design IMO.
I found using Mini Launcher to access the individual 'apps' to be the easiest way to do it, instead of waiting for another card to randomly show up.
I don't understand why there isn't an app drawer like on our phones.
Thanks! I've been cursing those notifications for weeks.

Removing "wearable storage space low" message.

I have nearly filled my SW3 up with music and now everytime i wake the watch i get this card which needs to be swiped away before i can even read the time.
Any idea how to disable this notification. I have tried going through the blocked apps route but no idea which android service supplies this card.
thanks
I am not here to provide a solution. No idea how much percent will cause a warning, but this is not good to use such much space: just image one day your watch fail to reboot coz your sdcard is full.... I suggest u remove some music, or use lower bit mp3 instead.

what I did was
For me I reset the smartwatch 3 and let all my apps and music resync minus 5 or 6 songs. I never saw the issue until I hit the sync button via the Android Wear app. I'm not going to hit that button as I've not needed to do so in the past for anything and I'm betting so long as I don't I won't be annoyed by the same message always displaying.
Do you know if perhaps your issue showed up after you selected the sync option from the android wear app?

Will it all be for nothing?

Hi everyone...first time caller, long time (ago) listener, but novice.
I have an S9 that I used for home and work. Work made me encrypt the phone.
I have about 2 years of photos (the whole pandemic!) on there, and I'm usually really good at backing up regularly, and no I don't use any cloud backup because I didn't want a wayward sync to obliterate anything.
And of course, I obliterated myself by accidentally putting my case on upside down, somehow invoking a factory rest.
So now I have a reset phone, which I've tried to use various utilities to recover the photos from (I only care about the photos), but all of them say that to go deep, you need to root it. And from what I hear, S9s are really hard to root.
But XDA gives me hope,...but before I go down the forum rabbit hole, I hope to get confirmation that the fact that it was originally encrypted isn't basically setting me up for failure. I know the code, but I don't know if the reset-of-an-encrypted phone is basically a non-starter.
Would I be wasting my time? Or if I root it with some XDA posted solution, would something like Disk Drill or D-Back be able to get my pictures back?
thanks...
