[Q] I lost the root. - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I rooted my D855 with Stump and then flashed Recovery,PA, SuperSu, and Gapps.
Now, I don't have root access.
I tried using Stump again but it says my device is not supported..
What can I do?

[Q] LG G PRO F240S any root exploits for kitkat

Just interested in anyway to root my f240s which has been stock updated to 4.4.2 kitkat, the usual autoroot method does not work with the new update, any way to root manually with adb. hope someone can help. Thanks for reading.
You may have to wait a while on that one my friend. Kit Kat is coming to the optimus g pro series phones slowly so you're gonna have to give it time. I'm sure once the update is out in the masses our devs can start working on rooting methods.

Would you mind telling us what you did when you gained root access? We have one report that ioroot + xposed prevents OTA update. Did you do anything to your phone after you gaining root access?
Which variant of the G3 is this for? nothing shows up on mine 16gb/2gb Euro version on v10a.
32gb/3gb V10a-EUR-XX also shows no update... (ioroot)
no idea, i got the v10e update but once its downloaded it says that my phone is suspected from being rooted (which it was)
mine is D855 16gb int. version..
i rooted my phone with towelroot + using xposed
from what im seeing ota works only with towelroot with ioroot not working
Also just got the update. Looks like it's brand new so we still have no clue about the changes except for Power Optimizations?
can anyone provide a screenshot of power optimization please?
thanks.
disabling xposed & root doesn't help. any idea?

If on the D855 you can follow the guide in my signature to unroot without wiping.
Might be a good idea to wait and see if they backported the 4.4.4 towelroot patch before unrooting and installing the OTA.
Witch root apps do you have?
Because it sais that I'm rooted and can't update. I have root explorer, cerberus and titanium

Think I read somewhere some people had To flash original v10a then root with...don't remember which one, and then they were able to flash a later version and still maintain root.

Stumproot works good but it costed me a motherboard after 15 days of rooting. So consider that but stumproot will get the root done

[Q] Rooting after the new update(10m)

I haven't seen a clear answer on this, so does anybody know what root methods still work after the new update? If they all still do, is there anything I should do differently in the rooting process?
You have to wait till one of the methods gets an upgrade
BAD ASS G3
Well seeing as how the d851 boot loader is shipping unlocked from T-Mobile I think it would be pretty safe to say that once you manage to properly install the 10m OTA, you would simply flash TWRP from purpledrake in fastboot and from there flash supersu.

I used Stump root and mine is rooted again. I had to use the brute force root to get it done in Stump. After that I installed SuperU, TWRP and Busy Box.

Purpledrake probably replaced the M boot.img with the C boot.img. If it did that means your back on the C kernel and if it didn't you no longer have the modded disabled root checker.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you flash the TWRP? with TWRP manager from the Playstore? did you pick your phone trough the menu or did you downloaded the img. file ? I'm rooted with the new update but I want to flash TWRP, thanks

[Q] Rooting with Purpledrake

I am trying to root with Purpledrake on Linux. My G3 is 10v. When it's temprooting, it gets stuck on waiting for device.
Use Stump Root v1.2.0! Its a apk search google! then install super su and busybox from playstore
Unable to use either

I'd love to use Stump Root v1.2.0 but it's telling me the device is patched, sorry. I have the same error as OP with purple drake. Any solutions?
Did you download and install the LG G3 USB drivers? My G3 was using other drivers that seemed to work, but it hung I believe at the same point you're referencing. After I installed the G3 drivers, rooting went easy peasy.

Use LG Flash Tool to downgrade to an earlier build. Go down to 10c. 10c works flawlessly with stump root. I couldn't get Purple Drake to work either.
